Least Fave EVER!!!

Now that I am a Disney Vaction Club member I will only stay at Disney's Vaction club resorts. For those who love deluxe resorts and do not want to pay the large price to become a member you should look at the DVC rent boards. You can usually get into a Deluxe Vaction Club resort for the price of a moderate resort as long as you feel comfortable renting from a DVC member. Most people will never go back to a non DVC resort again and a lot become members. We love to go to Disney each year and becoming a DVC member was the best thing we ever did.

We'll never stay value again. Horrible CMs this time around and mousekeeping left a lot to be desired in our first room.

The Grand Floridian has never had any appeal for me. Too many flowers...too :snooty: for me (but maybe that's just because my good friend refuses to stay anywhere but GF. She's definitely :snooty: ) :teeth:

luvmysams....

I thought I was nuts because I really don't like all of the floral at the GF. To me, the rooms are just plain ugly. I feel so much better knowing that I'm not the only one!

I would have to say Pop for the reason of very small rooms and thin walls. The food court was worse than an indoor football game as far as noise (it was terrible when we visited) and the theming....its just so 'sterile' that's the only word that comes to my mind.....myself nor my kids cared for it.

Secondly would be the Animal Kingdom. We stayed there 2 years ago because we could not get the BC. We were working with a travel agent thru DU and she suggested it. (keep in mind..she was very nice...but she like AK...not us). The resort is the farthest out from civilization. Had we not had binoculars, we would have seen nothing even on a savannah side room...and the room was so darn dark....thank god I had a flashlight. It was needed once for a contact lense..and for an earring the 2nd time...man that room was dark! Yikes......just not our cup of tea.

good day,
Esmerelda

Coronado Springs - nothing wrong with it, just a theme that doesn't really appeal to me.

And I have to agree with those that say offsite - we have stayed at some great places through our II timeshare and those would be okay again (the 2 or 3 br villa/condo type lodging) but only when we've run out of our DVC points. But truly - any basic hotel room offsite would be depressing for me.

We didn't care for POP or Caribbean Beach. We have liked the other value and moderate resorts we have stayed in. I may be in the minority, but loved the Contemporary!

For us it would be any of the values, the theming does nothing for me. Also any of the monorail resorts. The convenience is fine but we have never liked any of the themes there either. We went through all three last trip and were so happy we chose WL.

The values hold no appeal for me. I would rather stay off-site than at a value resort. Heck, I'd rather not even go to WDW than stay at one of the values.

I also won't stay off-site. I have a lot of friends who think I am crazy but it just isn't the same.

I also hate the Contemporary. My parents always stayed there when I was growing up and I am sick of it! Plus, there are so many other "fun" resorts to try.

I've slept on a friend's floor while in college, just to get in another WDW trip, so I definitely wouldn't agree. There are places I wouldn't pay to stay in- particularly offsite, but I'd stay anywhere clean and safe rather than stay home!

That said, I don't really have any desire to see the All Stars. I've stayed at Pop and it was great for what it was. I didn't fall in love with the place, but it was clean, warm and safe and close to WDW, so I was happy.

I don't know if I would stay at the Poly again unless I had a significant discount. The place was gorgeous, my view, my room, I was in love with the theming - I have a huge thing for Hawaii- and I like the retro vibe- it makes me feel like Walt just walked through there for some reason- but disappointed in the front desk CM's and the mousekeeping. At holiday rates (just under 500 a night) it was ridiculous. For 200 a night, or less, I would book again- with the knowledge that I have now.

I'm trying the Swan next- I am a teacher so I got a nice discount and I like the look of the place in pictures.

I think what makes me love a place is theming and service. Unfortunately, service is kind of a variable.

Don't hate me for this..but, I would say Animal Kingdom Lodge..especially if we had to pay full price..we stayed here for $114 which was great..it is pretty and all..but, being used to the value resorts with small children, a few things we didn't like..again, this is just us.. we hated the long walk from our car to our room..(we got a free upgrade to a savannah view too!) We drive everywhere and with 2 small children sound asleep in your arms and carrying camera bags, souvenier bags, etc.. it was just too exhausting. Granted, if we didn't have children with us and price didn't matter..I would stay here again. And, to top it off, the first night of our visit I walked out on the patio and got bitten alive all over my ankles and legs..this was my stupid fault..but, who would have known. I had to buy lotion and was itching and had scabs for days! So, gross!
Now, we have 2 kids and one toddler and one on the way..the closer to the room the better.. we loved Pop with the kids..it is loud but with a family like ours..we fit right in..wait till our 4th is here and we definitely have to bump up to bigger rooms!! Again, this is my opinion..it is a beautiful resort and it's just not for us. I am glad we got to experience this deluxe resort.

We stayed value once, all star sports, husband said never again! Wow, are those rooms small, even for Disney. Since the corridors are outside, alot of the parents let their kids behave like they were on the playground, instead of right outside your room.

Hmmm.......that's a hard question. I'm willing to try any resort once just for the experience, but with that said-I don't feel the theme of WL or AKL appeals to me. I really don't know why-I hear great things about them-but they would not be on my top must stays . I'm leaning towards staying at the Contemporary next time-mostly because I like the look of the new rooms (the old decor pictures made me dizzy!!) But, I would definitely NOT stay off-site especially after staying onsite. I would stay at the values in a heartbeat if the option was value or offsite. :sunny:

Very hard question! I'm another that would happily stay anywhere onsite if given the chance and my favorites were booked.

There are also several of the resorts that I've never had the pleasure of staying, but for whatever reason would not be my first choice to stay if I had the chance. However, I would choose ANY WDW resort over staying offsite.

I don't think any of the All Stars would ever be my first choice. Too many huge groups booking them and the theming doesn't appeal to me. Just a little over the top for me.

I've never been inside a room at the Contemporary, but I've been to Chef Mickey's and again, it just didn't appeal to me at all. Just seems kind of sterile looking.

The GF is lovely, but I think I'd feel uncomfortable there, like I was out of my league or I'd spill my tea or something, so I probably wouldn't choose to stay there.

Finally, we stayed at POR recently and while I LOVE all of the moderates, I was disappointed. Was one of those stays where Murphy's Law kicked in and everything that could go wrong, did go wrong. Probably wouldn't choose to stay there again.

Absolutely adore POFQ, CSR and YC and am looking forward to trying AKL in March.

I would never stay at Pop Century, the photos give me hives. Also, the contemporary - I can't sand that decor.

I'd stay anywhere else though :thumbsup2

I agree. The service stank. ::MickeyMo would not have been happy with the stinky treatment. The staff wasn't snooty-they couldn't be bothered to show that much emotion. We stayed at CSR and loved it. Great service!

I wouldn't stay at the POLY again because the service was terrible and the rate ridiculous. I didn't like ASSP but we are stuck there again in March on a
cheerleader package. :cheer2:
All the other resorts we have stayed at were fine. We really liked the Dolphin, CSR and AKL for the amenities and price.
