I'd never stay offsite.
I thought we were the only people who didn't ike the GF. My husband says it looks like a funeral parlor! We live near Nashville and it reminds us of Opryland Hotel. Not for us.
We love the MK area and can't get fired up for the EPCOT resorts. We walked the Boardwalk , did the DVC pitch, but didn't feel as DIsney as we do when we can see/smell the MK~!
It's interesting to read all the different opinions; it's a great thing Disney has so many different themed and priced resorts!

- I will not drive back to my room if I've had even one - If I'm going to have to drive I'd rather just stay in a more spacious resort off property.

Don't remember the darkness of AKL being a problem. Loved WL but during Christmas everything is wonderful. First stay at GF Thanksgiving 2006 - (land/sea) getting slightly concerned from some of the comments.

We picked ASSports for the reason of transportation- I can't remember going to more than 2 of the 3 resorts on the way to the park (usually just go straight to the parks) and coming home, it's the first drop off. I thought the lines for POP looked worse (for leaving the parks). We also stayed at AKL, on a great rate. It was nice, but at the end of the day, it's a hotel- a bed to sleep in, place to shower and get ready for the next day.
