Least crowded day at Magic Kingdom?

What is the least crowded day of the week at the Magic Kingdom and Epcot? We are planning a trip in a few weeks. Thanks for the help! :)

Not quite sure about Epcot, but Tuesdays have always been our choice for MK. I've read a couple of places that Tuesdays are the low days at MK and it seems to have worked out well that way for us.

Thanks!
Is there a worst day of the week to be there as far as crowds. Last year we were there on a Friday, and it was extremely crowded (compared to Epcot(visited on Wed) and Studios (visited on Thursday).

Well, EMH times get pretty crowded at MK (actually at most of the parks for that matter) so you want to check when they have that going on. Also, the nights that Spectro and Wishes will be performing will most likely be crowded, expecially in the afternoon-evening.

I've also heard that the weekends and Monday tend to be a bit more crowded. Obvious reasons for the weekend, but Monday due to the fact that all of the people who arrived over the weekend want to make MK their first park, which tends to be Sunday or Monday.

I'm sure some other DISers here will be able to give even better rational on MK best and worst days.

We were at MK yesterday (Tuesday) and it was an absolute madhouse after about noon. We couldn't move, and lines were 50 minutes for many rides, with Fastpass returns of 8:00 p.m. or so. It was EMH in the morning.

We arrive on Sunday. MK has EMH that night, so we plan on going Monday morning. I think it will probably be a little more crowded than normally after EMH, but you SHOULD be able to get most of your stuff done by the time the crowds explode.

On the other hand, I could be completely wrong and am walking into a minefield...guess I won't know 'till I get there. :)

That's my strategy as well. I figure even though Mondays are supposed to be crowded, it can't be as bad as the EMH days. I would hope anyway! :)

If you google "Touring Plans Disney" I think you'll find some useful info
regarding park crowds levels throughout the year. I'd post the actual URL, but
since I'm a newbie, I'm prevented from doing so.

We were there monday, july 10 and found it not very crowded. We arrived at 8:30 and was at the end of mainstreet at 9:00, took the trolley down. We went to fantasyland first and got a fastpass for winnie and then did the other rides in fantasyland went back to Pooh and no need to do fastpass they were going straight on. Then went and did barnstormer and a hotdog in toontown. Did tomorrowland with a fastpass for Space they we had gotten earlier while at teacups, and the stand-by line was 30 minutes. Did Buzz twice, wedway, and stitch and it was probably about one. Went to adventureland, did treehouse, 3 teenagers asking what it was so I couldn't resist and told them to go on, got picture with Hook and Smee, did pirates, watched the Jack Sparrow show, and had late lunch/early dinner at Columbia Harbor House and then it was about 4. The only crowded line was POC which was about 20 minutes but not a bad line and when I went to get a fastpass at Splash Mtn it was congested there, even though we ended up not using fastpass so we gave them away and headed to AK for evening EMH. In summary I found the Magic Kingdom not crowded that day, we felt like we had the place practically to ourselves. Splash MT. was the only ride we saw that had a wait time over 30 minutes. :)

That's the great thing about WDW. Just when you think you have your strategy down on which park for which day, WDW goes and changes their EMH days and messes things up.

It seems just from Feb this year, strategies have changed. So, it really sounds like the best thing to do is check the EMH schedule. The parks will definitely be more crowded on those days.

Best of luck and thanks to the DISers for giving iluvet some more updated info. :thumbsup2

I've got a new strategy this year: We're staying at CR, so we're going to hit MK (almost) every morning and then head back to CR around lunch time for lunch/swimming/rest. Then go to a different park later.

My only concern is to get the whole family up that early. I like to rise early, but the rest of the family likes to sleep in. I'm hoping to get 1 or 2 of the children to go to MK with me, and the rest of the family can sleep in. We can always meet them later or at lunchtime.

My family doesn't appreciate all of my planning...they think we should just "go with the flow"!!! :furious:

Thanks for that information. Sounds like Monday might not be a bad day after all. :sunny:

It does change with the seasons as well as the days and weeks within the season. As an example, the best recommended park for a my recent visit, over a holiday weekend, was MK on Saturday. :scared1: Who'd of thought? :scratchin It was great though. Check out TGM, best 18 bucks you can spend on Disney planning, even if only for what days, what parks, my main use of his site. :thumbsup2 http://www.tourguidemike.com/index.asp?promoCode=AG9MF-AQ#TGM-home

And welcome to the DIS.

This is the easiest way to figure it out. Whatever night has EMH at MK, go to :thumbsup2 the MK the very next morning. That works for most parks.

I totally agree, we did that last year and it worked great!
