Can we just order the cheese soup and a dinner salad or do we need to order a main course if we make ps reservations?

Sure, you can order whatever you like. Soup and a salad is a good dinner IMO.

They are so busy there they are probably happy to have the table free because your meal won't take as long. The cheese soup is delicious too.

Sometimes we make an ADR just to get dessert, because we're usually too full after a meal to try the desserts and they always look so good. You don't have to order any particular items or quantity of food. You can just get an appetizer, or dessert, or get some of everything.

That is just what I always order at Le Cellier. The mixed field greens salad and a bowl of cheese soup. (and lots of pretzel bread) I also order the maple creme brulee for dessert . No one bats an eye. Enjoy !
