Le Cellier? Just wondering!!

Yes, I remember the "buffetteria" in Canada. I don't recall when it changed but the early 1990's is probably a good guess.

When we ate there last year, I didn't want to go. I told my husband all about how it was a buffet kind of like Luby's and the one time I had eaten there (who knows how long ago) I didn't like it. So when we got in there I was super confused because I recognized the place and knew that I remembered it being a buffet. So my BIL said he didn't think so. Well, this is the first time I've seen someone say that it was a buffet, so now I know I'm not crazy!:dance3:

Anyway, I loved it! I'm glad we went, but the wait to sit was really really really long!

It is a "must do" for every trip! We've really enjoyed our meals there, and fortunately, we've always had good service too!

I do like the cheese soup - and the creme brule is so good!!

When you get right down to it, it's a steakhouse in a theme park. That's right, it's theme park food! It is however, Disney theme park food, so it's amongst the best out there, just as EPCOT is among the best theme parks around. But it is still theme park food, it's fairly generic, cooked and seasoned to appeal to as many people as possible. If you're a true steak connoisseur, or expecting to have a life changing meal.. yeah you're going to be disappointed. If you're just looking for a decent steak, have a good meal and enjoy yourself.. you'll find that too. All the hype it gets here is probably leads to a most of the letdown people have experienced. It's a good restaurant, where you'll find that theme park steak is just as overpriced as theme park hot dogs and popcorn, and can be just as good a time.

I've eaten there twice, and both times had very good meals. Like someone else said, I didn't find the cheese soup to be anything special. I also thought the pretzel bread was interesting, but nothing spectacular (I mean, it just tastes like a pretzel...) The other items were very good, though. It's probably been overhyped, so as long as you don't go in with your expectations too high, you'll probably enjoy it.

That said, it was expensive. We were on the old dining plan, so it ended up being a good value (as far as our DDP meals went, it was one of, if not the best we had). I'd have a tough time paying that cost directly, though - I'm not sure it was really worth it.

We ate there last week and really the food was GREAT!

We enjoyed ourselves a great deal. As Disney goes, its one of the better places to get GOOD food in the parks.

Nice flowchart. I would add that there are a few reasons people do go to Le Cellier other than the steaks. For instance, if beer cheese soup sounds interesting to you, some people find a rather average steak (they have a fairly good salmon as well) to be more than made up for by the soup. For other's its become a tradition. For still others, the steak may not be absolutely wonderful, but its the option near Epcot that is appealing to most Americans and its pretty affordable (i.e. a better steak can be had at Yachtsman - a ten minute walk from Le Cellier - but you'll have twice the bill walking out, and if your family is rolling their eyes at mole at San Angel or red cabbage at Biergarten, steak and potatos may be your best bet).
