Le Cellier? Just wondering!!

WE have been lucky to get in the past three trips - one just on 1/27.

OP asks if LC is all it's cracked up to be. Depends on where you come from, what your steak standards are and where you usually dine.

Great Pretzel bread. Tired of the Cheddar Cheese Soup - the barley is good, too. Excellent, high quality shell steak and filet mignons. Good value for a TS and great atmosphere.

Best on property? ummmm..not sure. Kona Cafe's filet is superior to me, but the restaurant lacks the atmosphere of LC. Better than Yachtsman (2 TS)? IMHO, yes.

Service is fine, but uneven - they are sooo busy! And LC is where the server gave himself a .23 tip last trip. He certainly deserved the $23 he was supposed to get.

We are eating here again 2/20, I can't wait.

Their mussels, and mushroom filet are wonderful.

Keep in mind everyones tastes are completely different. Majority of opinions on this one are positive. If a menu seems to be something your family will enjoy then go for it and give it a shot! We have eaten here multiple times and have never left hungry or disappointed. :thumbsup2

LC is the only Disney restaurant that I have left just as hungry as when I entered. The food is good, but the portions are miniscule. The bill came to 125 dollars for my mother and I(free dining so didn't have to pay). I would have been livid if I had had to pay for it.

Is it all its cracked up to be? Well, that depends on who is doing the cracking....

I agree with the posts that say its the best (or at least among the best) one credit restaurants in WDW.

If you are reading the people who say its "the best steak EVARRRR!!!!" I'd go with no, its not all its cracked up to be. Its good - it just isn't Ruth's Chris/Capital Grille sort of really good steak.

Pretty much what I was going to say. Among your Disney options, it's one of the best and worth the time. You gotta eat while you're there, so you might as well eat they best they have to offer. ;)

If you're comparing it to real world options, there are much better restaurants. At least in my neck of the woods.

We went for the first time this past month and it did not disappoint!! The food was great and the service was some of the best we received our whole trip!! We definitely want to make eating there a regular thing on our WDW trips!! :)

While Le Cellier is good, IMHO it doesn't deserve its "cult" status. I suspect that most of the rave reviews are just because its "competition" around World Showcase aren't very good.

I think it is very good, we had lunch and dinner there and were very happy. Going back again in October, hopefully I can get an ADR! :thumbsup2

Not really. I wasn't impressed with Epcot but we went there exclusively for Le Cellier. :thumbsup2

Some of the signature places stand up to the "real world" - but its the real world of a $40 steak.

Also, while Le Cellier has pretty good one credit food - it is not Disney's best experience. Food at Character Meals is often barely edible, but the experience is something you can only get a Disney. People aren't fond of Sci Fi Drive in from a food standpoint, but once again, its an atmosphere you aren't finding outside of Disney.

I can get a decent $25 steak at home within a few miles out of my house. I can even get beer cheese soup at home (but I live ten miles from Wisconsin - I have a freezer of the stuff). I can't get the experience of a mini Oktoberfest that I get at Biergarten, I have to go out of my way to get British or Moroccan food or Mexican food that isn't Tex-Mex. And I'm in a fairly major metro area - so things like Teppanyaki tables are easily available. You may find that the experiences Disney has to offer are more valuable than a decent steak.

I probably should have specified that the "competition" I was refering to was the other restaurants inside Epcot.

We just got back a week ago and tried LeCellier for the 2nd time. We've done lunch both times. We liked it the first time and were sure we had to go back the 2nd time. We were less impressed the 2nd time. We got the cheese soup both times via the kids meals and the first time, the server brought us extra pretzel bread when we asked. The 2nd time, the server made comment and acted put out that we were "helping the kids eat their soup". We were a party of 6 and got 3 pretzel breads. When we asked for more pretzel bread, she brought 3 total pieces of bread with 1 being pretzel bread. The service aside because the 2nd server wasn't horrid, just not friendly, the food really isn't great. As one poster said, I can get better or at least comparable steak local for the same or less cost. I ordered the yukon potatoes instead of sweet potatoes with my steak and they were just ok. That's all that comes with it. At home for $20 I can get a salad to start, a steak, and a side item. If you want the truth, we also tried Chef de France the last trip and felt that was a MUCH better steak restaurant. Just our opinion.

Just a quick question.....is Le Cellier really all it is cracked up to be????

I think you can get a better steak elsewhere but I made ADRs there, for our upcoming trip, just for the cheddar soup and breadsticks. :thumbsup2

We LOVED LeCellier! In fact, I just booked it for our graduation trip in May! I can't wait for our friends to eat there!:thumbsup2

I am eating there for the first time in Aug. I can't wait!

I think it is funny that so many people rave about the cheese soup. I thought it was just OK. The mushroom filet....is heavenly and the desserts are yummy too. We are going back in May. :flower3:

Eaten there twice and loved it both times. We really like the cheese soup (in fact my son has the recipe from one of the Disney cookbooks) and made it at home. Still good!!

However, I absolutely love the mushroom risotto! Well worth it.

imho, LC is good, but certainly not great (we've never had a really bad meal there, but we've never had a really memorable one either).

i'm a firm believer that every restaurant deserves at least one try to decide for yourself tho :)

We have been there once and really loved it :thumbsup2

Service was wonderful, atmosphere amazing, and the food is one of the best Disney World has to offer. So yummy!
