Le Cellier? Just wondering!!

Well, it's been long enough since I've been there that I don't remember my opinion of it anymore....so I've decided to cure that by making an ADR for next month...just did it a few moments ago & had no problem getting an ADR for 3 people at any time of my chosing...

The cheese soup with the pretzel bread dipped in it was VERY good. The steak was ok. Of all things, my DH wants me to find out where I can buy the pretzel bread (I've also got the recipe for the cheese soup). Anyone know?

I think it depends on what you order. The signature dish -- mushroom filet mignon -- is only served at dinner and it really is one of the best meals I've ever had.

we ate at Le Cellier in sept after raves from my MIL and FIL and honestly we went at lunch and were not impressed at all. yes the breadsticks were good, but I honestly feel I had a better filet at Concourse. When we go again in this sept, we are going to try again.

I hope it's good. We have never dined there in all the years of our WDW travels. We are definitely looking forward to it.

I think it is funny that so many people rave about the cheese soup. I thought it was just OK. The mushroom filet....is heavenly and the desserts are yummy too. We are going back in May. :flower3:

Funny you mentioned that my DH makes better cheese soup and he's using their recipe! I'm sure it's just a difference in quality of cheese and smoked bacon.
BTW- I remember when Le Cellier was a cafeteria style restaurant. As best I can remember you went through the line and got what you wanted then seated yourself. Anyone else remember that? Am I very far off in my rememberance? I know I had cabbage rolls when I went down there to interview in 1990.

We love it. Vine ripened tomato stack, filet with mushroom risotto, and creme brulee:cloud9: . A group of eleven of us (all solo DISers) ate there this past December and we all loved it.

Yes I'm with her! Hey Aubriee!!!!:goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

While we have always enjoyed Le Cellier, it was never totally outstanding to me....That is up until this year. We went in Jan 2008 and ate there for one dinner and one lunch. Both of times were exceptional! We always enjoy the chedder cheese soup, for it is just out of this world! But, everything was just delicious, and the service was very good. Now, I am understanding why this place is so darn hard to book!;)

We love it. I had the filet with sweet potato mash last time. Absolutely fantastic! And the creme brulee...yummy!

I thought the cheese soup was just okay, and much better as a dip for the pretzel bread.

We loooooooooove Le Cellier, it is an absolute must every time we go for our last 4 trips and we're going again during our April trip. Good stuff, it is the best ts IMHO!

ABSOLUTELY! It is wonderful! My dh loves the herb-crusted prime rib! We eat there every year! Enjoy

I think so!!!!! LeCellier ended up being my favorite meal the entire trip. I had the Cheddar cheese soup, Maple glazed filet and the chocolate mousse. There wasn't one course I was disappointed in! I say give it a try, I was very pleasantly surprised!

We really enjoyed it, but anything given a lot of hype is bound to disappoint some people when they go.

Of the restaurants we tried in October and April last year, there are exactly three that we're going back to because of the food. They are LeCellier, Victoria & Albert's and Jiko.

It is definitely not the best steak ever at LeCellier, but it's one of the best steaks on property IMO.

IMO, no. While we liked it, there was nothing extraordinary about it. After dining at YSH, I would have a hard time going back to Le Cellier, knowing that such an amzing steak dinner is right around the corner.

Yes, I remember the "buffetteria" in Canada. I don't recall when it changed but the early 1990's is probably a good guess.

I agree. Le Cellier, while very good, is over hyped IMHO. If you are interested in better food, go through the International Gateway on a lovely 5 minute walk to Yachtsman. Much better food and service. The waitstaff at Yatchsman are professionals and Le Cellier, while not bad by any means, are mostly college students.

Le Cellier is a good - not great - dinner. I would keep it for a lunch and enjoy a better dinner somewhere else - Yachtman's, Shula's, or I hear Flying Fish for a NY Strip. Le Cellier is a victim of being completely overhyped. We enjoyed our meal there, but very few restaurants could live up to the expectations that people have made for this one.

I just gotta say. You should just go and eat and form your own opinions. Some people get all absorbed in other peoples opinions it starts to really stress them out, I know it did me.

So just go eat and see how you like everything.
