We will be doing a two week honeymoon to Florida in June/July, so I know I will need to do a load of laundry sometime during our stay. I thought I had read somewhere that the Polynesian offered Laundry Services (i.e. they would take your laundry, do it and bring it back to you). I know that the deluxe resorts offer dry cleaning services, but I wasn't sure about regular laundry. I know I can do it myself, but I understand that the Polynesian has a pretty limited supply of machines and I don't want to waste valuable honeymoon time sitting in the laundry room.

Has anyone had any experience with this service and how much does it cost? Thanks in advance.

We have had laundry done by the laundry service at both GF and the Poly. You have to have it to them by a certain time in the morning (I want to say 9 am, but check for yourself!) to get it back by 6 pm that evening. Just call guest services so they know, someone showed up to our room both times within a few minutes. They hang your clean clothes in the closet of your room with the receipt attached.

Frankly, its rather expensive as laundry services go, but we needed clean clothes and -- like you -- didn't want to waste time waiting for dryers, etc. They both did a very good except they both used safety pins to attach my bermuda shorts to hangers instead of just folding them. FYI.

All in all, we'd do it again if necessary, but only for the items we were running short on.

Edit: Where ARE my manners! Congrats on your wedding! :D

I don't know about the laundry service, but wanted to say congratulations on your wedding and I'm sure you will enjoy your honeymoon.

Congratulations on your wedding. Just wanted to say that if you chose to do the laundry yourself due to the cost, it just seemed that no matter when we went the laundry was always busy. So go first thing in the morning if possible, grab a quick breakfast at captain cooks and fold later. I bring dryer sheets from home and a small little liquid bottle. The prices there are outrageous. THey have a tv and newspapers in the sitting area. My dh borrowed a wheelchair and we wheeled our laundry into the place. :D We had to be creative too and not waste time. Bring a plastic bag from home if you have alot, if not they have a smaller version in your room that might work. They were really lots of familys there doing laundry like us, hence more than 1 washer a piece and sometimes up to 3. I think I used 3 dryers at once , so be prepared.

Hi! Congrats on your wedding!!:groom: :bride:

I found a laundry ticket from last year, shirts are $5.50, pants are $6.50, t-shirts are $4.50, tennis shorts $5.00, knit shirt (polo) $5.00, socks & undershorts both $2.00.

I gave up on doing laundry myself, one load usually cost me $5.00 even bringing my own soap and dryer sheets. Now I usually send a couple pairs of shorts and shirts, maybe socks, and spend around $20-$25. For me, that was reasonable, for the time and effort it saves me. You might think differently!!:teeth:

Congrats on your wedding! DH and I honeymooned at the Poly in 1993 and loved it. We also splurged and sent out the laundry - I think it was two small loads. I almost fell over when I saw the bill was $60.00. But then we figured it was our honeymoon and who wants to do laundry on their honeymoon??!!?? There's enough time for all that when you get home.

If it were my honeymoon (or only wdw lifetime trip) I'd pay to send it out too!

We stay at the Poly regularly, and will be 2 weeks this July, and have spent much time in "the laundry room" Now I know people have written before "we had no problem, BUT I wish I had that experience. We went early, late, middle of nite, you name it we showed up. It was packed, a zoo, and no one was in a good mood. I saw fight break out, 1 woman in tears, (she was upset that someone emptied her dryer after it set idle for 45minutes, with several people waiting) (then started a fight about it, even thou it was taken out careful, and set out neatly). People argued about "who got there 1st?" How many machines you were using. We tried to keep our heads down, focused, friendly, and get out asap! I dread going back this year. :hyper:

Vacation is no time to do laundry! princess: MKY princess:
