So after a fun afternoon at Magic Kingdom, we were starting to get pretty hungry! It had been a while since we last ate - luckily we had made an early dinner ADR at The Plaza 6 months beforehand!
We were still in Adventureland, so we headed back towards Main Street and checked in at The Plaza. I won't go into major detail about our meal there, but if you want to read about it further, check out my dining report in my signature. We both had burgers and milkshakes, and really enjoyed our meal! It was a nice, easy way to start off our dining extravaganza!!
My delicious mint choc-chip milkshake and Conan's chocolate milkshake...
We both ordered the same burger... Yum!
After our dinner, it was still only around 6pm. Wishes wasn't on until 8pm that night, and although we were pretty tired, we really wanted to wait around to see Wishes. Well, I did anyway!! And Conan's a nice husband so he agreed to play for a bit longer and wait. Yahoo! We headed slowly towards Frontierland and grabbed Fastpasses for Big Thunder, then criss-crossed back and walked straight into Mickey's Philharmagic!
We just love Philharmagic! It's just so Disney-ish! The songs are great and the whole thing is just so much fun!
Next, it was Haunted Mansion time! I love the Haunted Mansion! Conan doesn't. He says it's "lame", but really I think it scares him.
Our Fastpass times were ready for Big Thunder, so we headed back there, but were sad to discover the ride was down! Booooo! We trouped on though, and decided to do It's a Small World instead. Only a 5 minute wait, so why not!?
Conan looking thrilled...
Not one of our very favourite rides, but cute nonetheless!!
By this stage, it was around 7.30, so we headed back towards Main Street to find a spot for Wishes. We saw a bit of the end of the SpectroMagic parade, which looked pretty, but parades aren't really our thing I'm afraid. We've actually never seen a full parade at Disney World! Is that bad!?
When Spectro finished, we found a spot in the middle of Main Street and stood there!! Whew, is that difficult to do with a massive crowd evacuating and a zillion other people trying to mark their spot for Wishes too. Eeeek! We managed to stay there though, and had a great view of Wishes!
Don't you just love Wishes!? Awww! It's just so awesome!! I ended up buying the soundtrack while we were there - I love it!
Here's my brilliant photo of Tink flying through the air!
And all our wishes wiiiiilllll come truuuuuuuue!
We well and truly felt like we were finally in Disney World after that!
And so began the long voyage back to the buses!! It wasn't really too bad since we were already on Main Street - not too far to walk with the masses of people!
Here's Main Street on our way out, all lit up and looking pretty!
We were lucky and hopped on a bus nearly straight away. Yay!! Back home to the Wilderness Lodge we go! Normally after leaving the Magic Kingdom I feel a bit sad, but not this night. We had our whole Disney vacation in front of us, PLUS we were about to find out our room allocation! Eeeeek!! Fingers crossed!
Our room ended up being even more fantastic than I'd hoped!! It was exactly as the CM that afternoon had told us - we were on the 5th level, pretty much in the centre of the "bear face" part of the WL, with a beautiful courtyard view! AND a king bed!! Room 5075! Woohoooooo!!!
Here's some photos of our beautiful and spacious room. First up, our massive big bed (and Conan looking sleepy in the chair!)...
Amazing carved bedhead...
The big TV to watch lots of Stacey...
Pretty mirror!
The spacious double sink! (We so need this in our house!)
And the bathroom...
We loved our room!! I'll post photos of our courtyard view in the next post - it was still dark at this stage!
The only thing we didn't love about our room was the water. There's no other way to say it, so I'll just say it. It stank. And it tasted even worse! Like it had come straight from a stinky river. Ewww! We both made sure not to swallow any! Instead, we had lots of bottled water and water from the Roaring Fork drink fountains. It wasn't just us who noticed the smelly water either - we spoke to a guy in the elevator once, and he said the only bad thing about the WL was that the water tasted like pure sulfur. Hehhehee. Gross.
Anyway, smelly water aside, we were amazingly happy with our room upgrade! We showered, watched some Stacey, chatted about our next day, and headed to bed in our whoppin' big bed! It had been a great first day!!
Up next... Hollywood Studios, here we come!!!
