Laughter, Tears & Screams- Two Aussies in WDW! New - 6/10 - The End!!

Can you tell we had fun in The Seas?! We really did. It was relaxing and quiet and fun! I love sea animals anyway, but it was even better because there was hardly anybody else around. Just us and the fishes!

And NO birds to interrupt you and the dolphins! :yay:

Beautiful. :thumbsup2

I'm not really sure what this one is. Conan will play chess with another lady and I'll stand by watching, with my hands on my hips!?

:rotfl2:

This is my favorite photo from your update. It's just such a boy thing to do, isn't it??? pirate:

Hi Conan!

whew.....finally caught up!

We hopped on the monorail for the first time ever, and had a short little ride to the Contemporary. The monorail is fun!

i can't believe that was the first time you guys rode the monorail! glad you liked it. i love the monorail. my cell phone ring tone is, "please stand clear of the doors. por favor mantengase alejado de las puertas."

so cute!

We were the only people catching the bus to Magic Kingdom – the park was well and truly closed by now, so the driver asked us why we were headed there. We explained that we were going there to catch another bus back to the Wilderness Lodge, and he nodded.

And guess what – 10 minutes later, we pulled into the Wilderness Lodge!! Our lovely driver had totally bypassed MK and driven us straight home! How nice!! How’s that for some pixie dust!? We made sure to thank him profusely – I thought about giving him a zebra dome to say thank you, but decided against it. Hehehee.

this happened to us in september 2007. we were taking a bus from OKW to MK in order to ride the monorail to the poly for breakfast a kona. we were the only ones on the bus - it was like 7:30 in the morning. the bus driver asked us why we were going to MK so early and we said we were going to breakfast at kona, so he took us straight to the poly. such a nice little time saver! :thumbsup2

such a sweetie! so glad nothing major was wrong. i totally feel your pain. i HATE leaving my boys alone at all! and once when we were in florida for a wedding sherman had a seizure and ray's mom called freaking out. he has epilepsy and so we're used to them but she's not. i felt so bad for him and for her!

nice shirt! if you'll remember, i wore that same shirt to MK last april. it's so cute! great minds think alike.

So we all said hello very politely and stood, ready to get our photo taken. Should I put my hand on her back!? Where should I put my hand!? Auuuhhh! It was like meeting the Queen!! :lmao:

sometimes i feel this way, too! i remember once when i met jasmine in morocco i put my hand on her back and all i could feel was her THICK hair from her wig and i was thinking, "ew.....that has to be just miserably hot!"

i told you this on your dining report, but i just LOVE those pics of cinderella watches wishes with those little girls. they seriously look like they should be on a postcard or something. i wish they wouldn't have been refurbing sir mickey's because that just kind of sticks out like a sore thumb, but other than SUCH great pictures! :goodvibes

We did find a Photopass photographer hanging around though, looking freezing cold and bored! I wonder how long they stay at the park!? Anyway, she was lots of fun and took zillions of photos of us! Here's just a few of them...

image135.jpg

i didn't quote them all but i love ALL these pictures!

And you'll all be pleased to hear that I made a trip to the bathroom and afterwards, started to feel a bit better!! Yayyy!

:rotfl2: thanks for sharing. i'm glad you felt better though!

Here's my hand, saying hi to a friendly Disney dolphin...

IMG_9768.jpg

very cool! both times i've seen the dolphins they haven't gotten near the observation windows. i LOVE dolphins - i plan on doing the dolphin encounter at epcot next trip.

by the way, i love both your boo and dory shirts. super cute!

Hi everybody!!

I was going to write my next trip report update tonight, and then I got distracted by Australia's Next Top Model! Heh! Yes, we have an Australian version! Now I'm being distracted by Gossip Girl. It's my trashy tv night!!! popcorn::

I will have the next update up tomorrow though, for sure! :thumbsup2

So glad your second day at Epcot started with you feeling better. No fun to be ill in Disney World! Perhaps you get your Grey Goose Slushie after all?:rolleyes1

I loved your zazzle shirts-- fabulous job! Can't wait to read more!popcorn::

Ooooh, you'll have to wait and see whether I got my Grey Goose Slushie! All will be revealed in the next update! (Phhht, so exciting!! ;))

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your trip report!!! We have two daughters and we (hubby and I) keep wanting to visit alone, but we enjoy it sooo much as a family. I always think we will miss having the girls with us, BUT, you have inspired me to plan an adults only visit! You and Conan are having sooo much fun! You really planned a nice trip!

This will be our (adult) year to go....afterall, we went as a family in Dec 2008, we have family trips planned for June 2009 and DCL/WDW for October 2009...so,I won't feel too bad if we don't take the girls, because they will have already gone 3 times in 12 months (I hope I can get over it)!

Thanks for a fab report....where are you two going next??

Aww, I'm so glad you're enjoying our trip report! And yay for planning an adults only trip!! I'm sure you'll have a great time together - and hey, you can always talk to your girls on the phone each day!! :woohoo:

And 3 times in 12 months!? Whew!!! Fantastic! They've totally got nothing to grumble about!!

As for our next trip, we've actually decided to explore Australia a bit more! Just a nice relaxing beach holiday in tropical Queensland - sleeping in, drinking cocktails and snorkeling the Great Barrier Reef! Yay!! :yay:

I love your t-shirts! I might just have to make some for myself!!

You guys are very photogenic! You both always look great.

Hehee, thanks!! You should make some Zazzle shirts, it's lots of fun!!

And NO birds to interrupt you and the dolphins! :yay:

This is my favorite photo from your update. It's just such a boy thing to do, isn't it??? pirate:

Hi Conan!

Conan says... "Hi Trixie!"

Driving that little car thingy was definitely a boy thing to do. I didn't even get a go!! Wah! Did Mr Trixie have a go when you went to Spaceship Earth?! :confused3

whew.....finally caught up!

Yayyyyy, welcome back!!! :)

i can't believe that was the first time you guys rode the monorail! glad you liked it. i love the monorail. my cell phone ring tone is, "please stand clear of the doors. por favor mantengase alejado de las puertas."

Ha! What a great ring tone!! Where did you find that!?
And I know! I don't know what took us so long to ride the monorail! :confused3

this happened to us in september 2007. we were taking a bus from OKW to MK in order to ride the monorail to the poly for breakfast a kona. we were the only ones on the bus - it was like 7:30 in the morning. the bus driver asked us why we were going to MK so early and we said we were going to breakfast at kona, so he took us straight to the poly. such a nice little time saver! :thumbsup2

So nice!! It's these little bits of Disney magic that really put a smile on your face, don't you reckon!!? :wizard:

such a sweetie! so glad nothing major was wrong. i totally feel your pain. i HATE leaving my boys alone at all! and once when we were in florida for a wedding sherman had a seizure and ray's mom called freaking out. he has epilepsy and so we're used to them but she's not. i felt so bad for him and for her!

Aww, poor Sherman! And poor Ray's Mom!! It's awful when you're away and can't help, isn't it?! That was my problem - I just so wished I could be there with her!

nice shirt! if you'll remember, i wore that same shirt to MK last april. it's so cute! great minds think alike.

Of course!!! I totally stole your shirt idea, remember!? I think it was in your last trip report - you told me you got it from Hot Topic and I searched the website, but they didn't sell it anymore. So I bought it from ebay instead!! I love it! Ch-ch-ch-Chip and Daaaale, rescue rangers!! :cheer2:

sometimes i feel this way, too! i remember once when i met jasmine in morocco i put my hand on her back and all i could feel was her THICK hair from her wig and i was thinking, "ew.....that has to be just miserably hot!"

Ew, I wouldn't like to be wearing a huge big thick wig on hot days either!! She doesn't really wear much else though, does she!? Her lack of a proper top might make up for that!! :lmao:

i told you this on your dining report, but i just LOVE those pics of cinderella watches wishes with those little girls. they seriously look like they should be on a postcard or something. i wish they wouldn't have been refurbing sir mickey's because that just kind of sticks out like a sore thumb, but other than SUCH great pictures! :goodvibes

Thanks!! It was a lovely Disney moment!! (And you're right about the refurbishing thing - I always notice that too! And I notice the security guard walking around too. I should Photoshop him out!!)

very cool! both times i've seen the dolphins they haven't gotten near the observation windows. i LOVE dolphins - i plan on doing the dolphin encounter at epcot next trip.

by the way, i love both your boo and dory shirts. super cute!

We loved the dolphins! You taught me about the dolphin encounter another time - it sounds fabulous! I can't wait to hear all about it! We might have to add that to our "To Do one day" list as well. I seem to steal all your ideas!!

Thanks again for reading along, everybody!! There's only a day and a half left in my trip report!! :scared1:

It's nice to know that you've got trashy TV, too!:lmao:

P.S. I loooove Gossip Girl! And ANTM! Do you know that show has about 100 diferent versions across the world? Tyra is making some money honey!!

Oh noooooo!!! I'm a bad trip reporter!!!! I was totally planning to write my next update tonight, but I've had schoolwork corrections coming out my eyeballs!! Whew!! I've FINALLY finished correcting all the kids' work, and it's now 12.30am. I'm exhausted and need to sleep!!! Sorry guys!! :teacher:

It's nice to know that you've got trashy TV, too!:lmao:

P.S. I loooove Gossip Girl! And ANTM! Do you know that show has about 100 diferent versions across the world? Tyra is making some money honey!!

Oooh yes, Tyra would definitely be raking in some dollars!! Good on her. It's such a good, trashy show! And Gossip Girl, yay!! Go Chuck! :yay:

i will PM you with the website as not to get in trouble here.;)

Thanks Dawn!! :woohoo:

Next chapter up soon!!! Stinkin' correcting!! :rolleyes1

I love me some trashy TV! Sorry you have so many corrections to get done. Oh the woes of being a teacher!!!!
Next chapter up soon!!! Stinkin' correcting!! :rolleyes1
Our jobs always seem to get in the way, don't they?? If only we were all independently wealthy. . . .:upsidedow

Whoops again!! I didn't update last night as promised!! Feel free to throw rotten tomatoes at me... I'm very bad!! :duck:

I think I might be subconsciously trying to drag out my trip report, like Trixie suggested!! I only have a day and a half left to write about, and then what shall I do!? My Disney trip will officially be over!! Boooooo!!!

But I'm back tonight to do the next update! Sorry it's taken so long! :surfweb:

I love me some trashy TV! Sorry you have so many corrections to get done. Oh the woes of being a teacher!!!!

There are many woes of being a teacher!! Hehehee! ;) Mostly during report writing time, which is happening soon. Oh nooooo! But I have fun with my class, and that's the most important thing, right!?

Our jobs always seem to get in the way, don't they?? If only we were all independently wealthy. . . .:upsidedow

Silly jobs!! Why can't we all just live happily without working? Nobody actually wants to work, right!? But then I guess we'd have to hunt for our own food. So... naaah! Heh! I'll stick with the teaching! :woohoo:

Yay! Updates please!!

I have 3 hours left at work and they are going to go slooooooooow!!

You can make them faster!! ;)

So when I last left off, we'd been having a very fun Epcot morning, and had just ridden Spaceship Earth. Woohoo! We had Test Track fastpasses to use, but our time wasn't quite up yet. So instead we went for a little walk, and guess what we found! Club Cool! Yayyyyyy!!

I really don't know why we didn't visit Club Cool in 2006. Free Coke products!? Who's going to say no to that!? Certainly not us! And apparently nobody else could say no to free coke either, because the place was packed! Is it always like that!? Whew! We eventually made our way over to where you can taste the different types of Coke out of the little cups - cute!

I'm not good at keeping secrets so Conan knew all about the Beverly before we got to Club Cool. Hehehee. But we were both keen to try it. It couldn't be THAT bad, surely!! For some reason I imagined it to taste like sweat. Ewwww. But we still both had a try! Here's Conan getting ready to taste it...

IMG_9802.jpg

How was it!?

IMG_9801.jpg

That's definitely Conan's "This is disgusting!" face. He's really not very dramatic, as you can tell! I had a little taste too and ewwwww!! It didn't taste like sweat - it tasted more like poison!! :lmao: Not that I know what poison tastes like, but it's what I imagine poison to taste like! A cross between poison and tequila, anyway. Hehehehee.

We tasted lots of other flavours too, and had fun mixing the flavours too. A nice place for a little chill out and boost up your sugar levels! Here I am, enjoying the sugar kick!

IMG_9803.jpg

See those scary looking dudes behind me? They were trying the drinks as we were leaving, and I told them to taste the Beverly. They screwed up their faces and said, "No waaaaay!" Apparently they'd already tasted it!! Heh!

I also bought a cute little Fanta lipgloss from Club Cool too. I love Fanta! And the lip gloss really does taste like Fanta! :yay:

After our Club Cool experience, our Test Track fastpasses were ready to use! But first, we popped over to Mission Space to get fastpasses for later. Let me correct myself - we got a fastpass for Conan! There was no way I was doing Mission Space. I did it in 2006 and hated the tiny enclosed space, and the horrible spinning!! My face felt like it was being pulled off! Auuhhhh! I wasn't going through that again!! Conan was happy to ride by himself, so phew! :thumbsup2

And woohoo!! It was finally Test Track time!! We still had a little wait in the Fastpass line, but nothing like the standby line. Phew! It was really crowded at Epcot that day! We both love Test Track... it's just fun!!

Ready to ride....

IMG_9805.jpg

What a blast! Test Track really is lots of fun. Especially the outside fast part! Yayyyy! I love that you can pop your Photopass card in the photo slot too, and you get the ride photo for free! Cool!

This photo makes me laugh. Why is Conan wearing his sunglasses on the ride!? Who knows!!! And look at me gripping his leg with fear! Waaaah! :scared1: The other people on the ride look like they're nearly dozing off. Hehehee.

image176.jpg

After Test Track, we still had 30 minutes or so before our ADR at Le Cellier, so we decided to just explore and look in some stores. I don't think we bought anything, but it was fun to look! We also had some Photopass photos taken, and some turned out better than others! I've worked out that the mistake ones are some of my favourites though. I'll show you what I mean in a second!!

image182.jpg

We look like the Sunglasses Brigade! Heh! It was really lovely and sunny that day, and we were looking directly into the sun. See!?

image180.jpg

I think I was blinded by the sun. But I could have nodded off for a second!! Or maybe I was just entranced by the writing underneath me. :confused3

The Photopass girl was quite nice, and we had a little chat with her about Australia for a while. She told us to point up into the air, pointing to the left of us. So we did. And look what happened!!

image183.jpg

Haaaa! This is one of my favourite Photopass photos!! We're totally pointing in the wrong direction. It makes me chuckle!! :lmao:

We kept wandering towards World Showcase, since our Le Cellier ADR was coming up. I really don't remember where this was taken, but I think it's somewhere along the way!!

IMG_9807.jpg

I'd been so excited to make this ADR at Le Cellier - mostly for the cheese soup!! We ate there in 2006 and I fell in love with that cheese soup!! I couldn't wait to go back there and have some more! :yay:

But alas. Remember how I'd gorged myself on cheese the night before!? I'd had onion soup covered with melted cheese, then I'd had mac and cheese. Oh-oh! My stomach was feeling much better, but still a bit squirmy - and the thought of more cheese made me feel really, really squirmy! Oh noooo!

Here's Conan with a pretty Canadian backdrop...

IMG_9824.jpg

And then it was eating time!! Did I have my cheese soup after all? Of course I did!! Even though my stomach was shouting at me, "No Julie! Don't do it!!" I just had to!! I knew I'd regret it later if I didn't have the cheese soup again. So I did! :lovestruc

IMG_9813.jpg

It was just as fabulous as I'd remembered! Maybe even better! Yummm! I'd totally go back to Le Cellier again and again, just for the cheese soup. Oooh, and the creme brulee too! Delicious! I also had a caesar salad, and it was really salty. But apart from that, everything was great! Conan totally loved his steak and chocolate moose dessert too.

After lunch though, my tummy really, really didn't like me again. I was gurgly and squirmy and icky again. Bummer!! (The cheese soup was totally worth it though!)

Up next... Would we make it to the World Showcase!? Would my tummy finally let me have a Grey Goose Slushie!? :confused3

Yay for updates!

Lol @ the hanglider photo!

Poor your tummy

image183.jpg

Haaaa! This is one of my favourite Photopass photos!! We're totally pointing in the wrong direction. It makes me chuckle!! :lmao:

This photo cracked me up because this is totally something that would happen to us too. :rotfl2: Glad you got the cheddar cheese soup-I can never resist it either!

Great update. That glider pic is hilarious. :rotfl:

Yea for another great update Julie!! I don't know what I'm going to do when your trip report is over. . .:confused3

Been loving all your updates. Really, really enjoy the pictures! The photopass one where you're pointing a "different" direction totally cracked me up :rotfl::rotfl: Le Cellier is one of our must-do's each trip. I'm with you on the cheese soup - just gotta have it. Daily. Or maybe not :o) Looking forward to more updates.

That photo makes me laugh too! Of course something like that would happen to us!! I'm sure the photographer told us to point that way though... hehehee, oh well!!
Isn't that cheese soup just awesome!?

Great update. That glider pic is hilarious. :rotfl:

It's funny, isn't it!?! Silly us!! :lmao:

Yea for another great update Julie!! I don't know what I'm going to do when your trip report is over. . .:confused3

Aww, thanks! I don't know what I'm going to do either! I'll actually have to knuckle down and write my students' reports! Waaaaah!! :sad1:

Hi Julie!
I am loving the report and am so glad I found it.
I was one of your biggest fans during your previous trip report. I got so involved in your wonderful writing that no other report could quite satisfy my trip report needs.:sad2:
How happy I am to (once again) be taken along on your wonderfully well planned and adventurous holiday. Thanks soooo much for writing and shareing!!
I must make a few comments:
Annie is such a lucky pet to have you and Conan! She is very photogenic too.
Also,I LOVE the photo of you on the teacups wearing the Mickey sweatshirt! That is such a good picture! Very Disneymagical!
Your description of the Times Square Celebration is wonderful! I really loved getting an inside peek.
I have never been to Universal when it was so uncrowded! That must have been nice to have the short lines.
I love the aquarium photos with your Dory shirt! and I agree that the "Keep Swimming" mantra is very encouraging...:fish:
Thanks again, for writing such fun trippies!:flower1:

Thanks for the updates. It sounds like you got a lot done at Epcot even though it was crowded. I have never done Mission Space, my husband rode it be himself as well. I am glad you got your cheese soup, I am not a fan of cheese so I have never had cheese soup.

Hi everybody!!

Whew, Conan and I have been cleaning, cleaning, cleaning tonight!! We're renting out house and we have a house inspection tomorrow - boooooo! While cleaning, I've been downloading the photos for my next update, so it should be up tomorrow! :thumbsup2

I smell like Windex!! :confused3

Hi Sue!!
I'm so glad you've found my new trip report! Yayyyy! Welcome back!! :yay:
Thanks for all your lovely comments. I like the phrase, "Disneymagical!"
You're right about the short lines at Universal - it was great! But on the other hand, the atmosphere of the park felt a bit... empty! It just seemed a bit odd without all the people!! :lmao:
Nice to know you're enjoying my report!

We really did get a lot done at Epcot. It was a fun day! What a pity you're not a cheese fan... the cheese soup is so good! I grew up on cheese when I was little - it was all I would eat! Cheese and chicken nuggets. Heh!
Thanks for your nice comments! :woohoo:

Back tomorrow with more updates, everybody! :surfweb:
