Laughter, Tears & Screams- Two Aussies in WDW! New - 6/10 - The End!!

I am with you on not riding Mission Space. I don't like things that spin at all! I am also not going to do the Tea Cups in MK.

The hang glider pic cracks me up.

I think I was blinded by the sun. But I could have nodded off for a second!! Or maybe I was just entranced by the writing underneath me. :confused3

or maybe you were just having a conversation with dory? :rotfl:

But alas. Remember how I'd gorged myself on cheese the night before!? I'd had onion soup covered with melted cheese, then I'd had mac and cheese. Oh-oh! My stomach was feeling much better, but still a bit squirmy - and the thought of more cheese made me feel really, really squirmy! Oh noooo!

you sound just like me at MK! i was feeling so icky and we were having dinner at kona cafe that night and i was SO looking forward to my FAVORITE drink....a lapu lapu! but my stomach was telling me NO WAY! you'll have to see if i get one or not! i'm glad you got your soup though.

Spinning doesn't normally bother me... but Mission Space doesn't just spins - it spins HARD!! It hurts!! At least with the Tea Cups you can choose how fast (or slow!) you spin!

or maybe you were just having a conversation with dory? :rotfl:

It kinda looks like I'm checking myself out, doesn't it!? :lmao:

Oh no, I hope you got your Lapu Lapu!! I couldn't get over how strong my Lapu Lapu was. I reckon the amount of alcohol would kill any nasty tummy bug!! I'll look forward to hearing all about it in your next update! :thumbsup2

My next update is coming up now! :surfweb:

So after a whoppin' big lunch at Le Cellier, my tummy started to dislike me again. Boooooo. It was very squirmy and icky again, the same as it had been the day before. Grrrr! It's so frustrating to be sick at Disney!!

That afternoon, we'd planned to head to the World Showcase and have a casual stroll and a browse, since we really hadn't done that in 2006. There were so many yummy snacks and drinks I wanted to try... but would my stomach let me?!

First though, Conan had an appointment with Mission Space! His Fastpass time was up, so he headed over that way while I had a browse in Mouse Gear. At least, I think it was Mouse Gear. That's the massively big store, right!? We made plans to meet back out the front of Mouse Gear in 30 minutes.

Conan was so excited to ride Mission Space again! It was one of his favourite rides in all of Disney World and anytime we spoke about Disney before our trip, he would be all excited and say, "Miiiiiiission Space!" He teased that he'd drag me onto it kicking and screaming - but with my sore tummy, I think he knew he had no hope of getting me on it! I felt a bit bad sending him off on his own, but he didn't seem to mind.

He took this photo while he was there...

IMG_9825.jpg

Meanwhile, I spent a little bit of time exploring Mouse Gear. Whew, that place is HUGE!! I wandered around for a while, but I don't know if it was the size of the place or me being a bit unwell, but I started to become really overwhelmed and a bit dizzy! I was starting to feel really light-headed. Bleugh!!! What a horrible feeling. I made my way out of Mouse Gear as quick as possible to get some fresh air, and sat down on a little bench around the corner.

And there I sat for another 30 minutes, waiting for Conan to finish his ride! I can honestly say that was the worst I felt while being at Disney World. Looking back now, I should have gone for a little walk to get a sugary drink or something to help, but at the time, it was all I could do to sit on the bench in the sunshine and not fall asleep! Wah!

Conan eventually made it back to our meeting spot and straight away could tell I wasn't well - he said I was as white as a ghost! Oh dear. We sat on the bench for a while and worked out what we should do, but it really wasn't a difficult choice. We would head back to the hotel for a rest. Boooooooooo!!

And so, I never got my Grey Goose Slushie!! Or a Cloudberry Cream Horn from Norway, or School Bread, or a Churro from Mexico. Bummer!! But at the time, it wasn't really even an option. I needed bed, and I needed it now!! Conan didn't really mind one way or the other - he's never been a huge World Showcase fan anyway.

(By the way, he loved Mission Space! He said it was just as great as he remembered! Yay!!)

We said goodbye to the golf ball on the way out...

IMG_9828.jpg

While waiting in the line, a really, really sick looking girl came and stood behind us. She was probably about 18 and she was with her family. She was bending over, holding a paper bag, sweating, and she looked almost green. Sorry, but ewwwww! She was making gross noises like she might vomit at any time, and was groaning and holding her stomach. Oh dear!! I felt a bit off colour, but certainly not that bad!! I almost felt like turning around and telling her to go catch a cab back to the WL instead of the bus. Hehehee. I know that's horrible, but I didn't want to catch her germs!! I reckon there should be a rule that if you're vomiting and really sick like that, you can't hop on a Disney bus. Like you can't hop on a plane if you're sick!! Because.... ewwwww!!

Anyway, we made sure to sit nowhere near her on the bus. Ick! We made it back to the WL, and headed straight to our room. Look who was waiting for us on the bed!

IMG_9830.jpg

Awww, so cute!!

Then, we slept!! We both had a fabulous afternoon nap for about 2 hours! Woohoo! And guess what - I woke up feeling SO much better! It was almost like I had to reach my worst point before I bounced back completely. Yayyyyy! And guess what else - for the first time for a long time, I actually felt hungry!! I'm sure there must have been a little pixie dust sprinkled on me while I was sleeping!! :wizard:

Conan though, was still sleepy. We had a little while before dinner, which was at Kona Cafe. So while he kept sleeping, I went for an explore of the resort and took some more photos...

I popped over to the WL Villas quickly too, to check them out...

Through the lobby and over to the elevators...

This picture was hanging right by the elevators near our room. Every time we saw him, we said, "Ben! What are you doing here!?" Because doesn't he look like Ben from Lost!?

IMG_1192.jpg

Here's Ben from Lost, if you're not sure who I mean!! :lmao:

The Wilderness Lodge is just so pretty! We both loved it. It was lovely and so relaxing to walk around and explore. :thumbsup2

After my photography adventure, I headed back into our room to find Conan awake and watching some tv. We hung out for a while and then got ready for dinner at Kona. We'd been there for breakfast earlier in our stay, but I had made a dinner ADR too, mostly for the chicken wings! They looked so good!

We made our way to the Poly (via Magic Kingdom), and had a little time to browse in the souvenir store before checking in at Kona. By this time, I was definitely, officially hungry. Wow!!! It was actually quite amazing how much better I felt. Like I'd suddenly been lifted out of a fog I'd been in for the past few days. I felt like a new woman!! Hehee!! :woohoo:

Anyway, dinner was lovely and the chicken wings were fabulous!!! See!?

IMG_9833.jpg

Conan's highlight was his dessert - the Kona Kone. So cute!

IMG_9838.jpg

So after our delicious dinner, we headed home to the WL for a nice quiet night watching tellie and relaxing. It was our second last night in the US - wahhh! The next day was to be our last full day at Disney, and we planned to head back to Animal Kingdom, since we didn't get to play there properly last time.

Despite me feeling sick towards the end, we really did have a great day at Epcot. We didn't get to explore World Showcase properly (again!), but you know what? I think that's okay. Really, I just wanted to try the snacks and food. I know lots of people love the World Showcase, but it's never really been high on our list to explore. But who knows - maybe next time!?

Next up... Our Animal Kingdom adventures!! popcorn::

I need to get me a Kona Cone!!!!

Sory you felt rough again sweetie, but I'm super glad it wore off by Kona time! And hopefully your last full day was 100% great feeling!

That towel piggy is TOO cute!! :)

Love the WL photos too! Oooh I can't wait to have a nosey around in there!

Your pics are beautiful...I'll be back to comment about the last two chapters in a while!

We said goodbye to the golf ball on the way out...

a_lost1239281705.jpg

You cracked me up with this one...only cause your right! :rotfl: Good catch there, I don't think I would have noticed.

Sorry you weren't feeling well again. I hate being sick when we're on vacation, even if its just a fleeting moment of illness.

I am glad you got some rest and felt better so that you could enjoy your chicken wings. My husband would have loved the Kona Cone as well. He loves cotton candy. I hate it!

:lmao::lmao::lmao: That's too funny about the Ben look-a-like! He really does look like this picture. It's the eyes, I think!

That is possibly the largest Ice Cream Cone I've ever seen!! Were those toppings that he could put on it in addition to the Cotton Candy? I think if I would've eaten that it would give me a serious tummy ache...speaking of which, I'm so sorry you weren't feeling well enough to go and get that Grey Goose Slushie.:sad2: It just gives you an excuse to come back!!:):)

I want a Kona Cone now too!! Yum! We loved our towel piggy - we called her Penny the Pig! Heh.
Thanks for your nice comments! You're always so speedy to reply! :thumbsup2

Thanks! And okay!! :3dglasses

He totally looked like Ben from Lost, didn't he!? From the first time we saw that picture, we were convinced it was Ben in disguise. Hehehee.

I am glad you got some rest and felt better so that you could enjoy your chicken wings. My husband would have loved the Kona Cone as well. He loves cotton candy. I hate it!

Hehee, the chicken wings were delicious!! And waaaah! :scared1: How could you hate cotton candy!? We didn't end up eating Conan's cotton candy on his dessert though - we were too full! What a waste!

:lmao::lmao::lmao: That's too funny about the Ben look-a-like! He really does look like this picture. It's the eyes, I think!

I think it's the eyes that look like Ben too. That piercing, beady-eyes look!! :lmao:
And yep, they were all toppings on the side of the cone. Candy and nuts and stuff! Conan loved it! He didn't eat it all though... So big!!
And you're right - I'll definitely have to have a Grey Goose Slushie next time!! We all need goals for "next time", right?!! :goodvibes

Thanks for all your great comments, everybody!! :yay:

that stinks! you sound like me in line at HM back in december. i wonder if we had the same stomach bug thing?

And so, I never got my Grey Goose Slushie!! Or a Cloudberry Cream Horn from Norway, or School Bread, or a Churro from Mexico. Bummer!! But at the time, it wasn't really even an option. :sad1: what a bummer you didn't get to explore WS. but you know, i think there's always SOMETHING that we don't get to do at disney world and that leaves a door open for next time. so you can just make a definite plan to do this when you guys go back in december 2010 when we're there! ;)

While waiting in the line, a really, really sick looking girl came and stood behind us. She was probably about 18 and she was with her family. She was bending over, holding a paper bag, sweating, and she looked almost green.

i bet she had ridden the orange side of mission space. i saw several people doing that same thing when we came out of there. we rode it and we were fine but it just affects everyone differently.

Then, we slept!! We both had a fabulous afternoon nap for about 2 hours! Woohoo! And guess what - I woke up feeling SO much better! It was almost like I had to reach my worst point before I bounced back completely. Yayyyyy! And guess what else - for the first time for a long time, I actually felt hungry!! we will be staying here december 2010. i can't wait!!!!! :woohoo:

I am not that familiar with the cast of Lost but I do see the resemblance from the picture you posted! Next time I am at the WL I will visit "Ben" and say "hi!". Maybe he was "lost" somewhere at Disney World!:confused3

Im glad you woke up feeling better!! We are going to Kona in Sept. and I can't wait.

I think I will shop while Mike does Mission Space. Great idea:thumbsup2

Kona cafe is one of my all time favorites. We try and eat a few breakfasts there - tonga toast anyone? And we love the dinners, too. For sure it's a coffee lovers place :coffee: something that is a bit difficult to find a good cuppa at disney. I am glad you were able to carry on even though you didn't feel too well and that it didn't slow you down:cheer2:

Isn't the WL just wonderful? We have visited several other resorts but when it times come to book our ressie, we always have to "go home". There are so many things we love about it - the theme, the food, the amazing boat rides, but the best thing is being so close to the MK which to me, is Disney. Thanks for your updates . . . . you're so much fun!

M.K.

that stinks! you sound like me in line at HM back in december. i wonder if we had the same stomach bug thing?

Our stomach bug thing really sounded similar! I just wrote about it on your trip report too - I reckon the smelly water had something to do with it, for sure! Combined with too much food from the deluxe dining plan!!

:sad1: what a bummer you didn't get to explore WS. but you know, i think there's always SOMETHING that we don't get to do at disney world and that leaves a door open for next time. so you can just make a definite plan to do this when you guys go back in december 2010 when we're there! ;)

Exactly! There's always something to do "next time" at Disney!! We'll definitely have to save an afternoon next time and just wander and enjoy... hopefully with a drink in one hand and a yummy treat in the other!! Christmas 2010, hopefully!!! Hehee! :yay:

i bet she had ridden the orange side of mission space. i saw several people doing that same thing when we came out of there. we rode it and we were fine but it just affects everyone differently.

That's what Conan said! I was more worried that she had that horrible vomiting bug going around Disney at that time though. She really looked awful. If it was Mission Space, I bet she'll never do it again!! Heee!

we will be staying here december 2010. i can't wait!!!!! :woohoo:

You'll have a blast there in 2010! It looks so pretty!

I am not that familiar with the cast of Lost but I do see the resemblance from the picture you posted! Next time I am at the WL I will visit "Ben" and say "hi!". Maybe he was "lost" somewhere at Disney World!:confused3

You'll definitely have to say hi to Ben! Hehee! It's easy to get "Lost" at Disney World, isn't it!? :thumbsup2

Im glad you woke up feeling better!! We are going to Kona in Sept. and I can't wait.

I think I will shop while Mike does Mission Space. Great idea:thumbsup2

Yum! I hope you enjoy Kona! We loved it!
Shopping while the boys do Mission Space is always a good idea, I reckon! :)

We loved Kona too! We had breakfast there earlier in our stay, but I think I enjoyed dinner more! Mostly the chicken wings and the dessert, really. Although the Tonga Toast is pretty good!!
You're right - the WL is beautiful!! We enjoyed everything about the resort... it was so pretty and relaxing. The pool was great too!
Thanks for all your kind words!! :woohoo:

I'll be back later with an update, everybody! (Unless I fall asleep on the couch, which could be a possibility. Hehee.)

IMG_9801.jpg

That's definitely Conan's "This is disgusting!" face. He's really not very dramatic, as you can tell!

This is quite different than my DH's drama queen face! :rotfl2:

This photo makes me laugh. Why is Conan wearing his sunglasses on the ride!? Who knows!!! And look at me gripping his leg with fear! Waaaah! :scared1: The other people on the ride look like they're nearly dozing off. Hehehee.

image176.jpg

It really does look like the other people are bored out of their minds, doesn't it???

image180.jpg

I think I was blinded by the sun. But I could have nodded off for a second!! Or maybe I was just entranced by the writing underneath me. :confused3

Maybe you were just making sure you didn't lose the girls on Test Track???

I've never seen this view before...this pic deserves a frame, don't you think?

The view over the lobby from outside our room...

How cool to walk out of your room to see that view. WOW! :firefight

Oohhh, you poor thing! Upset tummies are no fun, especially while on vacation!!! Are you lactose intolerant, maybe?? Seeing as cheese was the culprit both times :confused3
I think that if the girl with the barf bag started puking, I would've puked right along with her! :scared:

Whoops!!!! Sorry I haven't written my new update yet, everybody!! It will definitely be up over the weekend. It's student report writing time, so my weekends are spent writing reports, and my weeknights are spent falling asleep early because I'm so tired all the time! Report writing is awful! Waaaaah!

This afternoon though, Conan is taking me to see Wolverine. Heh. I need a little break and there's nothing like a Hugh Jackman break to keep one inspired!! :thumbsup2

This is quite different than my DH's drama queen face! :rotfl2:

I know!! I always thought your DH would have a reaction like Conan!! I don't know why! :confused3

It really does look like the other people are bored out of their minds, doesn't it???

Seriously! How can you be looking so bored on Test Track!?!

Maybe you were just making sure you didn't lose the girls on Test Track???

Auh!! How embarrassing!! It was the sun! Really! The glaring sun!! :rolleyes1

Yay for finally feeling better! :cheer2:

Yay indeed!!! :yay:

I've never seen this view before...this pic deserves a frame, don't you think?

Thanks! It was a little pond thingy up near the geyser. Pretty!

How cool to walk out of your room to see that view. WOW! :firefight

We were so lucky with our room allocation! Just perfect!!

Oohhh, you poor thing! Upset tummies are no fun, especially while on vacation!!! Are you lactose intolerant, maybe?? Seeing as cheese was the culprit both times :confused3
I think that if the girl with the barf bag started puking, I would've puked right along with her! :scared:

Hmm, no... I'm not lactose intolerant. More like Deluxe Dining Plan intolerant, I think!! :lmao:
Seriously, I'm pretty sure my stomach just wasn't coping with that much food! I love cheese - it was pretty much all I ate when I was a kid!
Ewww, I'm so glad the barf bag girl didn't barf!! Gross!!

I'll be back soon with the Animal Kingdom update!!

Yay, looking forward to the animal kingdom update!

I hope you finish you (reports) school work soon!:teacher:
