So after a whoppin' big lunch at Le Cellier, my tummy started to dislike me again. Boooooo. It was very squirmy and icky again, the same as it had been the day before. Grrrr! It's so frustrating to be sick at Disney!!
That afternoon, we'd planned to head to the World Showcase and have a casual stroll and a browse, since we really hadn't done that in 2006. There were so many yummy snacks and drinks I wanted to try... but would my stomach let me?!
First though, Conan had an appointment with Mission Space! His Fastpass time was up, so he headed over that way while I had a browse in Mouse Gear. At least, I think it was Mouse Gear. That's the massively big store, right!? We made plans to meet back out the front of Mouse Gear in 30 minutes.
Conan was so excited to ride Mission Space again! It was one of his favourite rides in all of Disney World and anytime we spoke about Disney before our trip, he would be all excited and say, "Miiiiiiission Space!" He teased that he'd drag me onto it kicking and screaming - but with my sore tummy, I think he knew he had no hope of getting me on it! I felt a bit bad sending him off on his own, but he didn't seem to mind.
He took this photo while he was there...
Meanwhile, I spent a little bit of time exploring Mouse Gear. Whew, that place is HUGE!! I wandered around for a while, but I don't know if it was the size of the place or me being a bit unwell, but I started to become really overwhelmed and a bit dizzy! I was starting to feel really light-headed. Bleugh!!! What a horrible feeling. I made my way out of Mouse Gear as quick as possible to get some fresh air, and sat down on a little bench around the corner.
And there I sat for another 30 minutes, waiting for Conan to finish his ride! I can honestly say that was the worst I felt while being at Disney World. Looking back now, I should have gone for a little walk to get a sugary drink or something to help, but at the time, it was all I could do to sit on the bench in the sunshine and not fall asleep! Wah!
Conan eventually made it back to our meeting spot and straight away could tell I wasn't well - he said I was as white as a ghost! Oh dear. We sat on the bench for a while and worked out what we should do, but it really wasn't a difficult choice. We would head back to the hotel for a rest. Boooooooooo!!
And so, I never got my Grey Goose Slushie!! Or a Cloudberry Cream Horn from Norway, or School Bread, or a Churro from Mexico. Bummer!! But at the time, it wasn't really even an option. I needed bed, and I needed it now!! Conan didn't really mind one way or the other - he's never been a huge World Showcase fan anyway.
(By the way, he loved Mission Space! He said it was just as great as he remembered! Yay!!)
We said goodbye to the golf ball on the way out...
While waiting in the line, a really, really sick looking girl came and stood behind us. She was probably about 18 and she was with her family. She was bending over, holding a paper bag, sweating, and she looked almost green. Sorry, but ewwwww! She was making gross noises like she might vomit at any time, and was groaning and holding her stomach. Oh dear!! I felt a bit off colour, but certainly not that bad!! I almost felt like turning around and telling her to go catch a cab back to the WL instead of the bus. Hehehee. I know that's horrible, but I didn't want to catch her germs!! I reckon there should be a rule that if you're vomiting and really sick like that, you can't hop on a Disney bus. Like you can't hop on a plane if you're sick!! Because.... ewwwww!!
Anyway, we made sure to sit nowhere near her on the bus. Ick! We made it back to the WL, and headed straight to our room. Look who was waiting for us on the bed!
Awww, so cute!!
Then, we slept!! We both had a fabulous afternoon nap for about 2 hours! Woohoo! And guess what - I woke up feeling SO much better! It was almost like I had to reach my worst point before I bounced back completely. Yayyyyy! And guess what else - for the first time for a long time, I actually felt hungry!! I'm sure there must have been a little pixie dust sprinkled on me while I was sleeping!!
Conan though, was still sleepy. We had a little while before dinner, which was at Kona Cafe. So while he kept sleeping, I went for an explore of the resort and took some more photos...
The beach!
The geyser (not going off!)...
Pretty!
I popped over to the WL Villas quickly too, to check them out...
The hallway leading back inside...
Through the lobby and over to the elevators...
This picture was hanging right by the elevators near our room. Every time we saw him, we said, "Ben! What are you doing here!?" Because doesn't he look like Ben from Lost!?
Here's Ben from Lost, if you're not sure who I mean!!
Our room!
The view over the lobby from outside our room...
One of the massive, cool lampshades...
The Wilderness Lodge is just so pretty! We both loved it. It was lovely and so relaxing to walk around and explore.
After my photography adventure, I headed back into our room to find Conan awake and watching some tv. We hung out for a while and then got ready for dinner at Kona. We'd been there for breakfast earlier in our stay, but I had made a dinner ADR too, mostly for the chicken wings! They looked so good!
We made our way to the Poly (via Magic Kingdom), and had a little time to browse in the souvenir store before checking in at Kona. By this time, I was definitely, officially hungry. Wow!!! It was actually quite amazing how much better I felt. Like I'd suddenly been lifted out of a fog I'd been in for the past few days. I felt like a new woman!! Hehee!!
Anyway, dinner was lovely and the chicken wings were fabulous!!! See!?
Conan's highlight was his dessert - the Kona Kone. So cute!
So after our delicious dinner, we headed home to the WL for a nice quiet night watching tellie and relaxing. It was our second last night in the US - wahhh! The next day was to be our last full day at Disney, and we planned to head back to Animal Kingdom, since we didn't get to play there properly last time.
Despite me feeling sick towards the end, we really did have a great day at Epcot. We didn't get to explore World Showcase properly (again!), but you know what? I think that's okay. Really, I just wanted to try the snacks and food. I know lots of people love the World Showcase, but it's never really been high on our list to explore. But who knows - maybe next time!?
Next up... Our Animal Kingdom adventures!!
