Laughter, Tears & Screams- Two Aussies in WDW! New - 6/10 - The End!!

Chefs de France looks so yummy! I can't wait to try that fancy mac and cheese you had in only 28 days! I am a mac and cheese addict so of course I have to order. I will just make sure not to get the cheesy soup as well. ;)

The Mac & Cheese was great!! Yay for you, getting to have it in 28 days!! Lucky girl!! :yay: The onion soup was great too though... Yeah, go on! Have them both!!

Yep, you're right, that one is ever cuter than the swans with Chip and Dale. :cutie:

We loved all our towel animals the same amount!!!

I would have done the exact same thing (even ordering the exact same thing)! :thumbsup2 It's not like you can just pop over to Chef's de France on a whim some Saturday night.

Exactly right! We really only went to Chefs de France so I could try the soup and the mac and cheese - as if I could have not ordered it!! :confused3

Seriously...do the two of you EVER take a bad picture? You're such a photogenic couple! Not meant in a weird creepy stalkerish way, of course. :upsidedow

Aww, thanks!! And don't worry, I just didn't show you the 247 other photos we took. ;)

My girls flipped out then they saw the kangaroos hopping on Australia on the globe during the show. :goodvibes

Ooh, I forgot about the kangaroos! We were excited to see them too. :thumbsup2

Your pictures of Illuminations are really, really good! Do you think I could "borrow" some? I didn't take any, I think because DH videotaped the whole thing. DH even bought me a tiny little tripod for Christmas, just for taking fireworks pics and I never used it. :headache: But yours turned out great and you didn't have a tripod, did you?

You can definitely borrow my Illuminations photos, Trixie!! No worries!
I didn't have a tripod, nope. I just kept on clicking!! Our camera is normally pretty terrible for night shots, but it worked okay during Illuminations because it was so bright!

I'm really getting sad that your trip is almost over. I mean, of course your trip has been over for a while, but I'm sad that the report is almost over.
Could you just s-t-r-e-t-c-h it out longer somehow?

:rockband:

Oooh, there's still 2 full days to come, it's okay! :surfweb:

Awww, sorry you were feeling poorly Julie! I hope you were 100% better for the next day!

Love the boo top!! :cutie:

Thanks torsie! It's awful feeling sick on vacation! (And I like my Boo top too! Heh!)

Awwww, your monkey is just too cute! Also, I love your pictures of Illuminations. You had a great viewing spot. Sorry you weren't feeling well, its the worst being sick at Disney. Can't wait to read the next installment. :yay:

Thank you!! He was a cute little monkey, wasn't he?! :)

Love the Boo top and the cute lil' monkey!!:cutie:

Where did you guys stand for Illuminations? We'll be there in 9 days and I love that spot where you stood!! :thumbsup2

Wow, 9 days! So close!! How exciting!
Hmm, for Illuminations we stood right in front of the fence, in between Mexico and Showcase Plaza. There were bathrooms behind us, I remember that much!! :lmao: There's lots of great spots though - just go for a wander around that area and see what you can find!

Thanks for reading, everybody!!! :dance3:

I'm so sorry you didn't feel so good...

We are booked for Chefs de France in 8 days for dinner. My hubby and I love french food. I just don't have the heart to tell him the reviews are only so-so of it... hoping it is good enough to satisfy him as he is really going for the food... ha ha

What a bummer to feel lousy in Epcot!:sad2: I hope that you get to try a Grey Goose Slushie the next day! I have never heard of them until joining Dis, so I am extremely excited to try one in November!:cool1:

Sorry you didn't feel well. I have lots of stomach problems so I know how you felt. I hope it got better by the next day.

That really stinks that you didn't feel well. Drinking around the world is definitly on my agenda when I go!

hopefully your next day there will be better.

Aww, you might love Chefs de France!! It wasn't our favourite meal of our trip, but it certainly wasn't the worst, either!! I don't know that it's "authentic" French food - but it's still pretty yummy!!

I know!! I didn't know about Grey Goose Slushies either!! But anything with vodka in it is okay by me!! Combined with slushy icy stuff... fabulous!! :lmao:

Aww, thank you! It's no fun being sick, is it!? It got a bit better the next day, yep!! I had my moments, anyway!!

Drinking around the World is definitely on our agenda for next time too, since we didn't get to do it this time!! There's so many fabulous drinks to try!! :cheer2:

Hi. Another Melbourne girl here. I'm planning my first trip to wdw (although have been to Disneyland several times). I've really enjoyed your report.

You've mentioned it a couple of times so I have to tell you that we can get Abercrombie & Fitch here. They sell it at a store called Frat House at the DFO's. Its smaller than the real store but has mens/ladies hoodies, tshirts, pants, bags etc. Its previous US season so it's cheaper than if you buy there. The range changes all the time so I check it out every couple of months. They have great sales too. The store also carries other a&f franchise brands such as Hollister. So there you go...

So sorry to hear that you weren't feeling well! I hope you will be better the next day.

I was glad to read that you did try the WL pool after all and had fun in there, as I can't wait to jump in there and go for a swim when we FINALLY get to the WL next Monday!:banana::banana:

I really think I will have to do a trip report or dining report afterwards, reading yours has been such fun popcorn:: that I want to try it myself now :stir:

Whoops!! Sorry I've been a bit slow with the updates this week, folks! I've been getting back into the swing of things at work. It's always so hard to get back into it after holidays! But yayyyy, it's the weekend!! More updates coming your way very soon!! :yay:

Hey, fellow Melbourne girl!! I'm so glad you popped in to say hi! Have fun planning your first trip to WDW - how exciting!!
And WOW!!!! Abercrombie & Fitch in Melbourne! Thanks so much for the info!! I totally have to go to DFO now!! Is Frat House at all the DFO's?! Woohoo!!

Oooh, you'll be in Disney World next Monday! So close! How exciting!! Think of me as you lie back in one of those relaxing chairs around the pool.... ahh, relaxation!! :cloud9:
Yep, you definitely should do a trip report or dining report afterwards! Or both!! Yay!!

Yes I can't wait. We are going in early October. I know I'll love it.

It's at all the DFO's. There is a website frathouse.com.au i''ll have to check it out soon as I haven't been since about Christmas.

I think that is one of the best towel animals I've seen. I love it. Boo top is great too! Sorry you weren't feeling so great that evening.

I was impressed with all our towel animals!! So cute!! I'm glad you like my Boo top! :thumbsup2

Next trip report update coming up now!! :surfweb:

After a lovely big sleep, we woke up the next morning at 7.30am to a knock on our door. Who could that be, auughhhh!? And then we remembered - our room service breakfast! Yayyyyyy!!

Don't you just love room service!? I do!! It's one of my favourite things about staying in a hotel. Sitting up in bed in your pyjamas, eating breakfast!! What could be better than that!? :yay:

I had French Toast and Conan had the pancakes, and they were both pretty good!! But do you know what!? We were both still FULL! Deluxe Dining and us just wasn't a very good mix! :scared:

After breakfast, we got ready pretty quickly and headed out the door - we were off to Epcot for the day! Yahoooooo! I was feeling much better than the day before. My tummy was still a bit off, but the cramps and horrible pains had gone. Phew!! Free to enjoy our big day at Epcot!! :cheer2:

We made it to Epcot by opening time, which was 9am. I think there was an opening show, because I caught a glimpse of Goofy and Donald at one stage - but we really couldn't see a thing!! I have never seen so many people at a park opening before! It was CRAZY!! Maybe that's just what it's usually like and we've been lucky!? I don't know! There were masses of people everywhere and we were stuck in the middle of a huge crowd and couldn't move. Huh!!

That being said though, it was the Sunday of the Martin Luther King long weekend, so it was always going to be busy. That's why we got there early! Eeek!

So when the clock struck 9am, we trudged along with three-quarters of the crowd towards The Land - our mission was Soarin' fastpasses, of course!! Weeeeee! When we got to the fastpass line, of course we chose the slowest line. Heh. I always seem to get stuck behind the person holding 481 cards, collecting fastpasses for the whole tour group. Seriously. It was ridiculous!!! I reckon there should be a rule about that. Like, the maximum number of fastpasses you can get should be 10 or something! We stood there for at least 5 minutes while she put her 843 cards through. Aughgheghghghhhhh!!! :headache:

We FINALLY got to the front of the line and got our two fastpasses, for a return time of 10.10. Not too bad! Phew!!

Where to next then!? We decided to calm down a bit and visit The Seas with Nemo! We love Nemo!! I especially love Dory... and look, I was wearing my Dory shirt! I'd made this on Zazzle too. It says, "Just keep swimming..." Hehee! I love my Dory shirt. Even now, after a long day at work, I come home and put my Dory shirt on and it cheers me up! Just keep swimming, just keep swimming...

IMG_9760.jpg

A nice CM popped over and offered to take our photo together. Yay!

IMG_9761.jpg

The Nemo ride was new for us - it wasn't there in 2006 when we visited last, and we were both keen to ride it! We had no wait at all - perfect! We hopped into our clam mobile, and we were off! The ride was very cute. Not the most exciting ride ever, but still very cute. Here we are in our clam, enjoying the ride...

IMG_9764.jpg

We had a look around the aquarium area next - something we didn't do last time, for some reason. The dolphins are amazing!! We spent a good 15 minutes watching them. And they certainly watched us too! It was nice and quiet there, early in the morning - there was only one other family there the whole time we were there! Here's my hand, saying hi to a friendly Disney dolphin...

IMG_9768.jpg

Hi there!!

IMG_9772.jpg

Here's me with my new friends, the fishies. I think they liked me because of my inspirational top. Just keep swimming, just keep swimming...

IMG_9776.jpg

Crush!! Righteous, righteous!!!! :woohoo:

IMG_9778.jpg

Can you tell we had fun in The Seas?! We really did. It was relaxing and quiet and fun! I love sea animals anyway, but it was even better because there was hardly anybody else around. Just us and the fishes!

Next it was time for....

IMG_9782.jpg

Yahoooooo!!! We love Crush!! It was one of our favourite attractions in 2006, and we couldn't wait to do it again. I still don't know how it works, and I don't think I want to! It's Disney magic, right!? :thumbsup2

Here he is... duuuudes....

IMG_9787.jpg

Conan was dying for me to put my hand up and tell him I was wearing a Dory shirt. Hehehee. I so wasn't going to do that. But here she is! Little Blue! Yahoooooo! (Except she's being squished by the whale...)

IMG_9793.jpg

Crush was just as fun as we remembered. It really is one of my favourite Disney attractions!

We had one last little look around The Seas area, and then realised it was time to use our Soooooaaaarin' fastpasses. Yayyy!

IMG_9794.jpg

We ended up waiting for about 15 minutes in the fastpass line. Whew, Soarin' was popular that morning!! But the ride was worth it, of course! It's so much fun!! We were determined to smell the smells this time, and we did! I could ride Soarin' over and over again. If only the wait wasn't always so long!

We continued on our commando mission style exploration of Epcot, and decided to head over to Test Track to pick up some fastpasses. The wait time to ride was already up to 50 minutes, wah!! Once we had our fastpasses, we headed over to Spaceship Earth to see how long the line was... 40 minutes!!! :scared1: Really!?! Augh!

We decided to wait in the line anyway, since it would probably just get longer as the day went on. In the end, the wait was probably more like 20 minutes. Not that bad, really! And it gave us the chance to take lots of close-up photos like this!

IMG_9828.jpg

I love the new additions to Spaceship Earth!! I liked the old ride anyway, but the new parts are fun! Here's our future...

We'll take lots of trips...

IMG_9795.jpg

I'm not really sure what this one is. Conan will play chess with another lady and I'll stand by watching, with my hands on my hips!?

IMG_9797-1.jpg

We'll go flying in our new spaceship a lot...

IMG_9796.jpg

And we'll get to be spacemen! Woohoo!

IMG_9798.jpg

The big area when you hop off the ride is pretty cool too. Conan loved the big screen that shows where everybody is from - there were only a couple of people from Australia that day! He also loved the little games you could play, especially the car racing ones...

IMG_9800.jpg

So far, so good! We'd had a fun morning in Epcot so far, even though it was very busy!

Next up... More Epcot! Spitting out coke, devouring cheese soup, and... what's that in the sky!?

Your TR is great!!!! I also read your FABULOUS DR too;) Can't wait for the rest. Thanks so much for sharing:goodvibes

Another great day! Glad you were feeling better, I think the Deluxe Dining does that to most people at most point.

Can't wait to read more!

(love your top again!)

Aussies in Epcot!:woohoo: You guys are really so adorable together, if you decide to have children they are going to be so cute!:goodvibes What do you think your favortie part of Epcot is? WS or FW?

Thanks torsie! Deluxe dining definitely took the wind out of us for a while! Food, auughhhhh!!!

Awww, thank you!! What lovely comments!! :)
Our favourite part of Epcot is definitely Future World! We really don't love World Showcase. Well maybe I shouldn't say that - we've really never explored it properly!! We're not huge Epcot fans in general really, but we love lots of the rides in Future World. The restaurants in World Showcase are great though!! :yay:

I'll be back with more updates later!! :thumbsup2

So glad your second day at Epcot started with you feeling better. No fun to be ill in Disney World! Perhaps you get your Grey Goose Slushie after all?:rolleyes1

I loved your zazzle shirts-- fabulous job! Can't wait to read more!popcorn::

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your trip report!!! We have two daughters and we (hubby and I) keep wanting to visit alone, but we enjoy it sooo much as a family. I always think we will miss having the girls with us, BUT, you have inspired me to plan an adults only visit! You and Conan are having sooo much fun! You really planned a nice trip!

This will be our (adult) year to go....afterall, we went as a family in Dec 2008, we have family trips planned for June 2009 and DCL/WDW for October 2009...so,I won't feel too bad if we don't take the girls, because they will have already gone 3 times in 12 months (I hope I can get over it)!

Thanks for a fab report....where are you two going next??

I love your t-shirts! I might just have to make some for myself!!

You guys are very photogenic! You both always look great.
