We are exploring our options regarding travel arrangements from the port. We are still trying to decide if we want to use the Disney bus to take us to the airport so we can pick up a rental car there since we are remaining in WDW for another 4 days. We are renting a car prior to drive ourselves since we arrive a few days earlier, plan to buy some liquids for the cruise and have a 10:30 PAT. Normally we are a large party, so paying for the bus is not an option, but this time we are a party of 2, so could do either. Obviously paying $70 for the bus or $120 to park are things we are considering. We are staying at the BWV afterwards and know we could take the bus there and pick up a rental at CCC or we could take the bus to the airport and pick up a car there (better options). Just crunching the numbers and it's just too far out right now for any good car rental deals. Since I've already did my "checkin" with the cruise, does anyone know how late in my planning can I call the DCL and book and pay for the shuttle one way back to the airport or BWV. My cruise date is September 12th (7 night). Normally we are a party of 6 and have always rented a car and paid to park. We like the convenience of parking at the port. And while we would pay to park there on this trip for the convenience, we are still exploring all options. TIA

We have signed up for transfers to airport on the ship, the day before we docked. Never a probkem. They just put a sticker on your key card.

But do you really need a car at WDW? At Boardwalk you can easily walk or tske boat to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. And buses to the other two parks.

Thanks for the helpful advice. This info makes things easier.

Cedricandsophie, absolutely we need a rental car. We would be lost without the rental. We go to publix, Disney outlets and offsite often. Probably stop by US/IOA for an afternoon visit to Margaritaville (AP holders there too).

You can rent a car one way to the port and then rent one the day you get off the ship and return it to the airport after WDW.

We rented one a couple of weeks ago through Budget from the airport to the port for $17 total including all taxes. Spent $2 in gas. Drop off was a breeze and we caught the rental car shuttle to the ship. We were on the EBTA so we didn't disembark in Port Canaveral so I don't know how it would have been to rent a car on disembarkation day.

A person after my own heart. :)

No one should *expect* that daily rate! It was much more than that for our port to MCO rental...

Yes we are crunching those numbers too. Probably too early to get a good price. The cruise is in September.
