We are looking to do a 7 night 8 day trip to the MK in late April or Early May.

Just curious what would be attached to my name, so I called up Disney reservations and spoke to a very nice CM.

She put me on hold after I told her the dates, 3 adults, AKL, Parkhopper, plus meals.

Came back with a package deal that came in just under $3K.

In checking rack rates for AKL and everything else, looks like I'm saving about 34.6% or $1,038.00

Should I even bother calling DU for a quote or go with this???

Thanks for the input. I also wonder if the DDP is really worth the $818.79 I was quoted.
Oh, and by the way....I asked the CM for the code and she gave me three different codes...One for the package, one for the room only and one for the DDP.

What say you?

I got a quote for 5 nights 6 days at AKL for two adults, one three year old, standard room, no hopping, plus dining for $2,056. Rack rate was close to $2,600. Sounds good to me. My daughter loves animals, and I think AKL is so cool looking!:thumbsup2

This is the FOURTH (yes, fourth, you read that correctly) time I have changed my reservation...

Here's what I've done so far :headache: 2 adults, 1 child, standard view room at AKL 6 nights:

Original - 6 night room only w/AAA discount $1609, planning on getting tix from undercover tourist ($715-ish - hoppers only, no waterparks etc) room $238/night + tax = Total $2325

Ressie#2 - Changed 6 night AAA package to add dining plan still $238/night + hoppers/dining = $2901 total

Ressie #3 - Room only using AP discount $1107 ($164/night), so saving $74 per night on the room vs AAA ($444 + tax) but paying $200 extra difference between hopper and AP - still cheaper than either of the above, (had to drop DDP, no big deal), AP + tix from UC =Total $2034

Current Ressie #4 - Using code BUC (public code on mousesavers), room is now $174/night BUT I don't have to buy the AP which was costing $200 above the price of a 6 day hopper, so my room total is now $1175, hoppers from Undercover Tourist are about $715-ish (still waiting for my March Mousesavers newsletter), so total is now under $1900

I asked the CM to price it as a package for me using the ZHD/ZHE code from mousesavers, but it wasn't working out to be nearly as cheap as doing room only - maybe there were no more "packages" available for those dates? :confused3 All I know is that I'm $400+ cheaper than my original ressie for the exact same dates/tix/room.

It actually helped me to write this all out since I've completely confused myself and my husband is convinced that we will not even have a room when we get there.

Now, I wonder if there will be a better discount for Disney Visa cardholders :rolleyes1

Just booked a 6 day/5night AKL, standard room, 4 day hoppers and dining plan for 2 adults and 1 child. Total was around $2100 with the "May discount."

I called the Disney ressie for a quote....$2999.87

Then I requested a quote from DU.....$2991.34

Almost identical....I quess that is the best price I'm gonna get for the package we have chosen.

AKL - SV 7 nights ( hoping real hard for an upgrade)
MYW + DDP + Park Hopper 8 day

Just went online and found Delta round trip airfare for $98.00 R/T....I was really pumped about that....especially since I have a $200 voucher for getting bumped last year. Went to the airport....found out that Delta charges a $15.00 service fee for tickets purchased at the counter...since Delta forces you to go to the airport to redeem your voucher....adding the service fee per ticket is boggus and I said so to my agent....He completely understood and asked me to bear with him just a moment.....said he would "hook me up".

Couple minutes later...he hands me a $100.00 voucher for my trouble and having to drive into the airport to get my tickets....now that's what I call great customer service.

I fly several segments each month with Delta and usually never have a problem....they sure "hooked me up" this time.

Give us more money to travel to the MK with....

I'm 58 days out...how soon do I have have to make my ADR's for the DDP???

You didn't mention how many people, but I would trust DU to give you the best available. We booked standard view and are also hoping for an upgrade. Got one in October, so maybe it'll happen again. Wish my flight was $98 r/t - ours are $98 each way!

And as for the ADR's - you need to make them IMMEDIATELY!

Oh, Sorry about that.....we have two adults and our DD - 14

We have the ressie on a 14 day hold.....should I buy through Disney or DU?...I got an email from Sue Ellen today and she seems real nice....any advantage either way???

Thanks

I know a several people who have, but I've only booked thru AAA or CRO (although based on this trip I'm planning, I'm not sure either one will be willing to take my calls anymore!)
Since it's on hold, just make some calls just to compare - be sure you use the ZHE discount code if your dates fall in the correct range (or if possible, tweak the dates a little to make sure they do)
Room price with the current spring promo is $174 ($1218) + tax, 3 adult 8 day hoppers $750, 3 adult DDP about $819 = about $2800 total + the room tax is right around what you were quoted.
We'll be there the week of Mother's Day - maybe we'll see you there!
