Okay - but kind of depressed. Now that the numbing medication has worn off I am able to tell that my index finger and my thumb are still numb and tingly like they were before surgery! :sad2: They had said those two fingers may not get better! :sad1:

Well you have to remember -if the finger and thumb are going to get better it's going to take time-Nerves do repair sometimes but it's a very slow repair process-so don't lose hope yet :flower3:

wait Ahhh Nothing to relax you-as in medicine-sorry to hear that :guilty:

Thanks Kim  I was just hoping to see a little improvement right away to give me some hope!

Yeah - nothing as in medication until I was just ready to leave the "holding area" to go to the OR! And I had talked to the anestesiologist last week avout my nervousness and he had written in my chart to give me something basically as soon as I hit the door! :lmao: Oh, well, it's all over now! And I've got to say - every person that I came in contact with was super! Which is pretty unusual for our hospital!

If they said you can take Ibuprofen-you might want to-it reduces inflammation and thereby reduces swelling onto the nerve causing all the problems-it will also reduce that achy feeling ;)

Just a Thought

They didn't say I couldn't so maybe I'll try that!

Well, at least it's good to know there's still hope!

Never give up Hope :flower3:

I think it would be a good choice-I would take at least 800mg for the 1st 2 days every 6 hrs-since it needs to have a blood level to be effective and then cut it down to 600mg as needed after that-Just make sure to eat something before taking since it can be rough on the stomach :thumbsup2

OK-I work tonight-today is like my Friday-so I really need a nap:cloud9:

Glad that you checked in Kathy-and glad to hear that things went well

Talk to Everyone later :wave2:

I'm glad to hear that things went smoothly, but sorry about the numbness still being there

You know, if it makes you feel any better..........I haven't had any feeling in part of my stomach for over 8 years now... since I had my last C-section :rotfl: :rotfl:

Of course, I don't use that part of my body very much... nor does anyone see it!! :lmao:

I'm getting ready to go to a PTA board meeting, then off to work, then we have a cookie booth at the mall tonight.. 3:30 - 7:30. So we won't be home till after 8pm!
