Morning, everyone! What a day so far. Check engine light comes on in the truck. :(

They told me it's a valve that will cost $420 to fix! Darn it! Oh well, has to be done, so we do it. :headache:

Hope everyone else has a less expensive day. :goodvibes

True. So how goes it, Joe?

Crazy day here. I have to drive into Philly for a meeting tomorrow afternoon so I'm scrambling to get all the info I need.:scared: And of course more things keep popping up....go figure

How are things at your end...besides the truck problem?

Other than that, pretty well actually. We are planning our July WDW trip, and get to make our first ADRs next week! :woohoo: Still have more planning to do, but we consider that part of the fun of the trip! :thumbsup2

Absolutely!!! :thumbsup2 Planning is always fun.

I don't think we are planning a trip until the Christmas season this year. We are thinking about a San Antonio trip sometime before then.

There certainly is a lot to do here in San Antonio! Have you been here before?

I've never been to San Antonio...

Maybe one day I'll find myself visiting, eh?

Our current plans for travel are to Vegas, Yosemite and a Disney cruise from LA to Port Canaveral.

Nice pic of the Riverwalk. A beautiful place anytime of year. We are one of the "local" families that go down there quite a lot. Some of our friends think it's only for tourists, and haven't gone in years. They do not know what they are missing! :thumbsup2

well I've been to San An. tons of times, but none recently. It's been over 15 years since I've been there last.

Howdy, Liz!

Lot's of changes in the last 15 years. I think San Antonio was a 2 horse town back then. Now it's the 7th largest city in the country. Yikes!

Here in Southern California I've lived my whole life - and there remain plenty of places I've not fully explored. Yet I get around some too. So I know what you mean when you chat with local folks who don't get out to some popular places. And... in all fairness to the folks who don't get to the "popular" hot spots... I spent a decade plus working near 7 days a week in my business - so I had little time to explore and enjoy some things. Thus... I understand.

At any rate... I gotta go pick up one of my kids from school. Thus ends my afternon of whimsy while watching the "Millionaires' Auto Auction" on HDTV. They just presented a Ford GT40 which sold for $2,275,000! And... the auction house (RM) was noted as earning a 10% buyers AND seller' premium... so THEY made a cool $455,000 for "engineering" the auctioning. WOW....

Of course, the material pursuits like this are endless. There's always someone else with a something over you... if ya get caught up in these sort of petty pursuits, eh? <that's me taking a casual "swipe" at the poor folks getting caught up in dropping 2.5 million on .... a car>

So .... before I part I'll flot the question... if you had the EASY means... would YOU want to drop 2.5 million on a classic RARE race car like a GT40?

My answer.... no, I would rather setit up to throw off recurrring gifts to benefit others in need... as in a scholorship for kids - or a fund to serve as an anomomous angel for kids needing medical help who otherwise cannot afford it. Or something similar in nature. Think... 2.5M could easily serve as a non-declining fund by limiting it's expenditures to about 3-4% of it's asset value... thus it could produce about 75,000-100,000 annually in 2008 buying power. That's not too bad, eh? I'd say 5-10% of that could be used to administer the awards/scholarships. Oh well... gotta go now....

Adios!

We would have to agree. 2.5M for a car is only for people with more money than they know what to do with. It is totally ridiculous! We could never see spending like that on something so frivilous, even if we had the money.

So, done for the day. Hope everyone has a great evening! :goodvibes

LTP!!!
