I think it would be harder as you get older...besides the pregnant part, but having the energy to take care of the kids too...it is exhausting

babies grow too fast...and the toddler time is really fast too...and childhood seems to speed by....now I am getting depressed...

That makes me sad. DD will be 8 in two weeks and I can't believe it.

thanks....I have a very hard time with the thought of them leaving the nest...it took me several months to adapt to DS going to K.

But, I have been spending a lot of time over the years trying to brainwash my kids into living near me when they are adults...I hope it works

If DD does live close to me I will just move with her. I already told DH I am going to college with her.

DH teases me that I will be that type of mother-in-law...like in Everybody Loves Raymond!!!!

You say that Like it is a problem or something.

Oh I'd chance the baby...if I still had the needed equipment!

Mine! DH's equipment is still in tact! (But, gee, thanks for asking! )

...mebbe something could be set up with the teacher...at the end of the day, have the teacher check to see that all the day's assignements are written. Once the teacher aproves (or is satisfied that they ARE) she can go to her desk (or wherever her books/supplies are) and just go down the list...like math testbook and notebook - put a check mark on that when she has gotten those books placed in her backpack, spelling notebook, check THAT off when THAT item is in her notebook, and so on...)

I think I might try and switch it up alittle. Maybe add a few things to the list and give her a big reward at the end of the school year. She really wants to go to Six flags over Texas so maybe that will be a good incentive for her

...you might wanna try SMALLER rewards with shorter time increments...a WHOLE year to a kid is an AWFUL LONG TIME...suaully a week-to-week basis is a good way to start out....maybe she could get a 'pass' or coupon (with some little treat)at the end of a good week...collect, for instance, 10 of them to get that BIG reward...

Kids are on a 2-hour delay today because of black ice. They'll make a decision by 7:15 to either keep them on a 2-hour delay or cancel school.

Looks like I'm going to work a little late today!

Well, they stuck with the two hour delay instead of cancelling school. The boys are still sleeping and the house is quiet. I've made use of the extra time this morning!

That's a great idea Tracy!!!! Incentives used to work great for my boys. Little incentives daily, bigger incentives weekly (maybe a trip for fast food) and then a big incentive at the end of the grading period and year. Call it incentives, call it bribery, whatever works!

I'll be careful Kelli. Seems like our end of the county didn't get as much as the other end of the county this time.

DH is REALLY enjoying his new position. Plus his raise finally came through last week, until then he didn't even know how much it was going to be other than being told it should be "substantial." And it was! His hours are a little crazy right now but he'll settle into a regular routine, I'm sure. Thanks for asking!
