Sunday February 1, 2004 (SuperBowl Sunday)
Not a very exciting day. The weather was ok (around 70) but not as hot as we had hoped. We found a Target (my wife loves target) and spent the day and a pile of money shopping. We also crammed in a quick trip to DTD and walked around with our jaws scraping the pavement. What a marvelous place. The restaurants and shops are cool beyond words.
After lunch we headed back to the hotel to relax and hang out by the pool. The ticket booth lady asks us if we have bought any tickets yet. We tell her that we are going to need Universal tickets and WDW tickets. She says she can get us two stay and play Universal tickets for $140 (around 90 savings) if we go for a breakfast and short tour around a resort. Too good to pass up. We had been on a timeshare presentation in the past and had a really bad experience but the girl was so positive and swore up and down that this was different as it was a Sheraton property and they go out of their way to ensure customer service. So we agreed to attend it the next day. In the meantime, we went to Fish Bones for dinner and had an awesome seafood dinner. South American shrimp.....yummy. There was an older couple having dinner behind us and my wife and I bet each other if they were a new couple or if they had been together a long time. I felt they knew each other for years but my wife was convinced they were on a first date. Very fun.
Afterwards we relaxed by the pool and had a swim and hot tub. Warmest pool I had ever been in. Once the swim was over, we relaxed in our room and watched the last half of the Superbowl. Saw the Janet Jackson reveal and all. After the game, we called it a night.
