Welcome Home Weeks Return 8/14 – 9/16 2025

Is this only for members with direct benefits?
That is the way it is intended.
Last year at HHI I had my phone ready to show the info and they never checked. There were quite a few resale members and cash guests that partook in the event.
I assume the WDW and DL locations will be much more strict however.

I didn't say to apologize? Sorry if that made you upset to point out the fact that members attending MM multiple times means each MM is not a full first time members. Its not your responsibility to make sure someone else gets access to MM when a small percentage of DVC members can go that are staying onsite during that date.
Of the thousands of DVC rooms at WDW on a Moonlight Magic night:
- Many are occupied by resale owners ineligible to attend
- Many are occupied by family or guests of members ineligible to attend
- Many are occupied by renters ineligible to attend
- Many are occupied by eligible owners who simply don't wish to go, because they have conflicting plans, don't wish to stay out late or a variety of other reasons.

Meanwhile DVC has imposed sensible limitations over the years, eliminating the ability to register early when staying on cash reservations and now the season system.

That leaves thousands of eligible owners who do attend.

If DVC wants to further increase the restrictions, I'd have no problem with that. But the most obvious reason why the haven't done so is because it's not necessary. Are there infrequent visitors who fail to get a spot during a trip? Yes. But the number is probably not high enough to upend the entire system.

This year, DVC added the season groupings, effectively limiting members to no more than 3 events per year. They COULD have made it just 1 event per year. But they didn't. Anecdotally because registration data shows it's not necessary.

Vast majority of DVC members have never heard of this sub.

This isn't 1995. You don't need to be proficient in the Usenet to comment online. 70 and 80 year olds are on Facebook. Others on message boards, reddit and other social media platforms. There simply isn't a massive outcry from owners who are blocked from attending. Certainly nothing that would offset the literal THOUSANDS we know get into every event.

Read the threads on the annual meetings and questions people ask that is common knowledge supposedly. People are out of the loop and plenty of people don't get the DVC mailings or completely ignore them.
I've attended every annual meeting for the past 15 years. The only time I recall a member being critical of the MM registration process, she wanted more availability during the General Registration so that locals without hotel reservations had easier access. Basically the opposite of what you are advocating.

There has never been a vocal outcry from meeting attendees over MM registration outcomes.

It feels like they added more to it this time, no? Maybe I just don’t remember the list from last year. Anyway, it’s nice it’s returning, we won’t be in WDW for it this year sadly, but I live local to DLR now so I might attend the coffee and/or wine social if I can make it. I’m also a sucker for a reusable grocery bag lol looking forward to seeing that

Also interesting they’re marketing going to see a refreshed CCV room as part of the this. They must know we’re nosy af to make that a treat of the program…that being said, they’re not wrong! Hope someone on here is there in the early days and gets pics😅
They took away the mobile order discount for WDW and replaced it with limited options for 40 percent off some restaurants. I think that’s too bad bc the mobile order discount was really easy to use.

I think this kind of event is so much better than MM. They're all nice things and everyone can get them.

I have a couple of questions:
  • do you think the 40% discount on table service at WDW is only once per member or can it be used multiple times? The quick service discount and other offers say "one (discount code) per eligible Member" but there's no stipulation for this perk. If it's multiple it's awesome, I can take advantage of this multiple times
  • the sweet stop for an ice cream inside the parks, is it once per day/week/reservation/ever? Is it only for the member or also for other guests in the reservation?

I think the fact that they specify restrictions on the mobile order versus not for the table-service dining indicates that you should be able to use the 40% discount multiple times. I agree, it's a pretty solid discount and would love to utilize it multiple times.

I am tickled to see they have events at DL in Sept. I think we are going to be there for one of the ice cream days and also for the discount on mobile ordering. (Now, I just have to make myself a reminder. :) )

I am sad we are going to miss it this year! My daughter and I just happened to be staying at BRV last year when they had the coffee meet up at WL. It was so nice! I was under the impression that it would just be coffee and maybe cookies or something so we had one of those giant bear claws for breakfast (didn't even eat half and we were stuffed), but there was quite a bit of food: yogurt, fresh fruit, a bunch of bakery items (pre-made) like mini muffins, pastries, donuts, and croissants. I was very pleasantly surprised. When I thanked the CMs that were working there and told them that we were just going to have coffee since we were still full from our breakfast, they encouraged us to take a paper plate of items back to our room to eat later.

That sounds a lot better than what I was imagining. They are having this on my checkout day. I'll probably make that my breakfast.
