Tell me about your experience. Painful? Uncomfortable? No issues?

For me, it felt like being snapped with a rubber band. :)

Did you apply a numbing cream beforehand? My Dermatologist gave me a prescription for EMLA cream to put on 45 minutes before.

If rubber band snapping is as bad as it gets I should be fine. I can deal with that to be hair free. :)

I didn't the first three or four appts...and that made it VERY uncomfortable for me.

I get it done. I couldn't be happier with it and it's worth every dollar!

I've been doing it for 2 years now. I'm to the point there's hardly any hair regrowth. I did it over the last 2 winters (and hardly needed to shave all summer). They say usual results are 80% reduction. Mine is better than that, and I'll always keep going. They told me after the first or second year, usually a once a year touch up is all that's needed. I need a bit more than that still, but honestly not much. And I had a lot of hair to remove, believe me. I'd get leg stubble at the end of the day. And my underarms never looked cleanly shaved, because my hair is so dark and my skin is so light, you could see the hair through my skin (but I'm a perfect candidate for laser hair removal because of this).

I use the numbing cream... it's worth it! But I only use it on my legs now, just because there's hardly any hair left under my arms, so it's over with so quickly.

It only hurts when it's 'snapping' a hair, (and yes, it feels like a rubber band snapping you). So the more you go, the less it hurts.

Oh, and I finally remembered and took Motrin before my last appt. Don't know if it really helped, but it can't hurt.

Thanks Sarah and Belle. I can deal with rubber band snapping and mild discomfort. I'm a wuss when it comes to pain.

I'm a TOTAL wuss too... just use the cream - make sure you put it on as they tell you to (a little thick and an hour - I think? - before your appt.) And take some motrin. You should be fine.

I had told the woman doing mine that I'd rather have less pain and come back a little more often, than have a lot of pain but be done in lesser sessions. So we always use a low setting for me (the wussy setting;)
