Today would be our 2nd and final day at Animal Kingdom. I know a lot of people think of AK as a 1/2 park day, but not for us. We really need 2 full days to do everything we like to do. This is Dennis' favorite park. On our first day I had to drag him out after 3, even though he knew we would be coming back.
Our plan was to hit rope drop since we missed it on Tuesday. Breakfast would be at POFQ food court and try to be on a bus by 8. We wanted to hit the big rides but also do some of the shows and animal treks we missed on our first day. This would be Jada and Lauren's last day in any park. Dinner would be at 'Ohana's. We had a 7:05 ADR. I was really hoping to catch Wished near the end of our dinner. In 2004 we lucked out and did this. It was the perfect ending to our trip. The lights were dimmed, the music was piped in and everyone enjoyed the show. Danielle was 4 at the time. She danced around during the show right by our table, in the area where the kids limbo. When the fireworks ended and everyone clapped she thought they were clapping for our and bowed for everyone.
I'm going to try and do my best to piece this day together in the correct order. I have pictures from 3 different cameras and I had ditched the trip journal the day before.
I don't remember when but at some point Jada told me she was going to sleep in a little and meet us later. I think I called her when we were on the bus to the park.
Our day started in the usual way. I was the first one up, then I threatened Danielle that she better hurry up and get in the bathroom before Dennis got in there. You don't want to have the bathroom AFTER Dennis. Michelle slept in a little. We gathered our stuff for the day and headed down to the food court for breakfast. We grabbed a muffin and small chocolate milk for Michelle. She did her usual and meet us at the bus stop. She broke the rules and had her breakfast on the bus, then finished putting on her make up. Mascara is always applied on the bus. Today was also the day we planned to all dress in our LSU wear. Not that you can really tell what we're wearing from day to day since we just about always had jackets on.
We made the park in pretty good time. We weren't all the way to the front of the rope but not too far back. Right before 8:45 they started the opening show. This was very unusual for us, in the past the show was done by the Tree of Life. This was done right at the front.

At 8:45 they dropped the rope! Oh my I think this was the first time we entered AK early. I made a bee line for EE to pick up FPs for later. I of course ended up in the line that had the most trouble. The machine got stuck and a CM had to help me get the FPs.
FPs in hand where did we go next? Why Dennis' favorite AK ride.

We rode stand by. Since it was early we zoomed by in the line.

Once on the ride Dennis was a bad boy and broke the rules. Yes he took flash pictures. I'm only going to share one since the others really take away the magic of the ride.

I do not support what he did.
We had decided we would try to act scared for our picture and he actually came out pretty good. We ended up buying the picture and it now sits in our living room on the shelf of our favorite Disney pictures. I didn't take a red neck picture since we bought it. I may scan it in and post it later. We have a frame we bought several trips ago that is themed to Dinosaur. The old picture was put on a scrapbook page and in now in a book.
A few scenic shots.

We couldn't get another FPs yet so what to do?
We drug Danielle into "It's Tough to be a Bug". We really like it but she hates it.

A big pile of dung!

Up next a little Africa.
