I graduated in December with my Bachelor's..so this is my first semester in my Master's. Congrats to Brent! What is he getting his degree in?
J'ai comme votre voyage rapport tres bien!!![]()
Yes we have lots french saying down here, I just wish I actually spoke french. My dad was full blooded Cajun and spoke cajun french until he went to school. Had to learn English in school. We use to beg him to teach us but he wouldn't. I was born and raised in Baton Rouge, considered the big city so I'm a city girl through and through. I don't have that cute cajun accent or even a southern drawl. Thanks for joining in and I hope you enjoy it and participate in the fun!
Signing on! Great start so far!
The french caught my eye aussi (that's french for too). Looking forward to hearing about it.
Hi, joining in! I followed you over from Meghan's PTR! Can't wait to hear about your trip!
I'm in!!!!! Now going back to read.
One thing about the title.... I remember having a conversation in Rosies room one night with Jordan, Winkers and DJay. DH and I were explaining to them what laissez les bon temps rouler and Lagniappe means.![]()
My dad was the same way. He wouldn't teach us. I knew more cajun french when I was a kid because all of our elderly relatives spoke it constantly. But if you asked anyone to teach you, they wouldn't. I believe most cajun french speaking families are this way. Why?? Because they were told NOT to speak french and my dad (as most kids were back then) was not allowed to enter school until he could speak English. This is also why our heritage is dying out.![]()
Hi, saw your title thread and had to check it out. Read your intro and I can't wait for the rest. By the way this is my first ever ever reply post of any kind since I joined. I've just been having a blast reading some completed trip reports and decided to subscribe to new reports. Looking forward to the rest.
I think a surprise sounds like so much fun! I'm afraid Baylor would get mad at us though....
He's pretty testy about going to Disney....
So glad you don't have to go through that!
I did worry she would be upset about not getting her perfect attendance award this year. The last time she missed it was because of Disney too. But it was planned for her to miss school. Our Christmas break was shortened due to the days they missed for Hurricane Katrina.
Baylor just doesn't know how blessed he is. Danielle would love to go to Disney as often as y'all go.
