LAH LAH's Dec '10 PTR & WDW Trivia Extravaganza! *new 1/2/11*

I'm happy to take points any way I can get them!

I am guessing C for question #5.

P.S.: The bangs are super cute! And they go perfectly with those glasses!

The baby eating the fruit loops is so freaking cute! My goodness!

Love your bangs, I hope yours work for you better than my do. I struggle with them every morning to get that swoopy action. :lmao:

My answer is D. I have no rhyme or reason except it's the year I graduated High School so it popped out at me.

Oh and do I get points for liking your bangs? ;):lmao:

If Leslie is going to get points for liking the bangs I hope I get points for liking the glasses LOL!!!!!! :rotfl: I'm starting to get antsy to get a new pair!! Love the frames!!

Can I award points for kissing the frog.....LOL This science teacher thinks that is VERY cool!!!!

Okay my answer is B!

I'm following your PTR! We are going same exact time :) staying at ASMo, what about you? It's getting closer and closer....can't wait!!

Pray that the baby has improved health :goodvibes

An Answer and Lots & Lots of Points!

In what year did WDW welcome it's 500 millionth guest?

A. 1989
B. 1995
C. 1997
D. 2000

The answer is B. 1995

After a relatively slow start in Fall 1971, WDW quickly became the world's most popular vacation destination. In August 1972, cumulative attendance reached 10 million; in March 1976, 50 million; by October 1979, 100 million. Total attendance topped 250 million in July 1987 and reached and incredible 400 million by August 1992. October 13, 1995, marked the milestone 500 milliointh visitor, with numbers 600 million passing through the gates on June 24, 1998.

Jenjolt is tonights big winner! :cool1: Having correctly guessed B earns you an impressive 44 points! The shout out to the glasses is worth 7 points. CC, although you guessed incorrectly, you were the first to mention the bangs and the glasses. 30 points for each! I like to call these suckup points! :lmao: Lady Lallie, you get 20 points for both the freaking cute baby and the swoopy bang stuff, however you felt the need to point out the fact that you are younger than me and this in direct violation of the rules. I see fit to deduct 15 points.

Jenjolt: 107
CC: 105
Lady Lallie: 115.5
Elsa: an undetermined amount of points for kissing the frog. To be awarded by JJ.

The babies pumpkins (or "pucks" as E calls them)
DSC04557.JPG

The baby turns 1 on Wednesday and since I have to get a filling tomorrow :sad2: I finished up his cupcakes today!
DSC04591.JPG

I love pictures. Can you tell? :lmao:

Where do I begin!?!

Those are the COOLEST cupcakes I have ever seen! I love the Flamingo ones especially. When I was in high school I had a flamingo bathroom, I have a soft spot for flamingos.

The pumpkins are awesome too! You must have a lot of patience carving, they look like professional pumpkins. I think my favorite is the baby pumpkin that has a big ol' happy smile.

I'm very torn on my trivia answer. I think C is too high but I think B is too low. I feel like I'm on the Price is Right. Hmmm. I am going to go with B. Yep, B it is!

:cool1::banana::cool1::banana: WOOT WOOT!! I got one right!!!:cool1:

Okay I think for kissing a frog that's totally worth about 50 LAH LAH points because that is just WAY too awesome!!! Hope she finds her prince someday!!!

Jack Skellington jack-o-lantern...does it get any cooler than that!! I think you need to ship a few of those to my house LOL!! NICELY DONE!!

Happy 1st Bday to Baby!!! Nice work on the cupcakes!! You rock Mom!!!!!

Okay my answer is going to be C!! I'll go with the high answer!!

More points! :cool1::cool1:

I love the pumpkins! We do a Pumpkin Carving Night with a group of our friends every year. I did the Jack Skellington one a couple of years ago. It's still my favorite!

My son turned 1 at the beginning of the month. We did a pirate theme for his party and his Nana got a pirate ship cake made. I thought it was so cool, but I think your cupcakes might be better!

Question 6- My answer is C. Part of me wants to pick D, but I think that might be too high.

Answer to #6

How many outfits does Mickey Mouse have to wear at WDW?

A. 33
B. 89
C. 175
D. 312

Answer is: C. 175

Mickey Mouse has about 175 different outfits in his wardrobe, including a scuba suit and a tuxedo. Minnie Mouse's massive "walk-in closet" contains about 200 outfits, including a cheerleader costume and various evening gowns.

Lady Lallie, if you were on the Price is Right you would have just missed out on a ski jet :sad1:, but since this isn't the PiR I am awarding you 26 LAH LAH points for continuing to play along with my trivia extravaganza and 18 LAH LAH points for making it even funner (yep, I know...poor grammar) by bringing along the competition! CC and JJ, way to go! You both answered correctly. You both earn 1 LAH LAH point. But the real points are coming from the warm fuzzies you brought to me with your compliments. 51 points a piece! (LL, you brought warm fuzzies too, but I am still happy for more people playing along!)

LL: 159.5
CC: 156
JJ: 159
Elsa: 50

Question 7:

Where can you find an attraction that flipped off its tracks during its initial testing phase?

A. Magic Kingdom
B. Epcot
C. Disney-Hollywood Studios
D. Disney's Animal Kingdom

:dance3:

*I know this isn't so much of a trip report any more but I really am enjoying the trivia fun...I get my daily Disney excitement and enjoy the banter*

Next up: Answer to # 7

I :lovestruc your trivia, it gives me the Disney Warm Fuzzies so keep them coming! :cloud9:

I also love how you award points, I laugh everytime I read you reasoning.

Darn it! I should have gone with my first instinct! D'oh!

For this next question I am going to B. Epcot for sure! I'm 99.9% sure that it was Test Track that flipped. If I remember correctly, Test Track has been the attraction with the most difficulties in the building phase. The opening date kept being pushed back. I wish I could remember where I read this, I want to say Realityland (which you should read if you love Disney Trivia as much as I do and I think you do) or an Imagineer's Guide to Epcot. Hmmm. I don't remember.

Aren't I going to feel like a fool if the answer isn't Epcot. :lmao::rotfl:

I think that Lady Lallie might be right about #7. I feel like I read that somewhere too.

However, just to be different (and in the off chance that she's wrong), I am boing to pick A Magic Kingdom. I figure there is a lot of rides on tracks there, so there are pretty good odds of them flipping off! :rotfl:

Answer to #7 and points

Where can you find an attraction that flipped off its tracks during its initial testing phase?

A. Magic Kingdom
B. Epcot
C. Disney-Hollywood Studios
D. Disney's Animal Kingdom

Answer B. Epcot

During initial testing (long before the attraction opened to guests), one of Test Track's empty ride vehicles flipped off its track. Consequently, the Imagineers designed and installed a computer system in each ride car that fits into a cooler-sized compartment yet is so powerful each one could run all the rides and shows in the Magic Kingdom!

Lady Lallie! You got it right! :woohoo: 22 LAH LAH points for that!

16 points for the use of D'oh!

CC, you get 18 points (cause we both know you would have picked Epcot if LL hadn't first), and 22 because apparently you read!

I think that Lady Lallie might be right about #7. I feel like I read that somewhere too.

JJ, so sorry...but you snooze, you lose. In this case you lose 6 points. maybe you should look more like this ------> :surfweb:

LL: 197.5
CC: 196
JJ: 153
Elsa: 50

I'm so glad all the trivia that I don't need on a regular basis is coming to good use in this game. :lmao:

I seem to thrive on useless information! :lmao:

Michael is Harry Potter, Elsa is Hermione, Baby E is Hedwig the owl, and Baby C is wearing a mini sorting hat. Pictures as soon as we get everyone together wearing their costumes! :woohoo:

Possible Baby C birthday pics today, if I actually take any without faces.

Great costumes!!! I can't wait to see pictures. :thumbsup2

Lady Lallie, you are definitely right about this one! I just wish I was quicker to get here and post! So I pick C too.

LAH LAH, Those costumes sound awesome! I can't wait to see pics. My son is going to be a skeleton- So unoriginal compared to your family!

Sorry I'm so late to the party!!! It was a VERY busy day at work!!!! That's what happens when you are a teacher!! But no excuses...I just love coming back and reading the posts and answering the trivia!! SO MUCH FUN!!!!

Answer to # 8 P.O.I.N.T.S

What name was originally planned for Walt Disney World?

A. Florida Disney
B. Disney America
C. Disney World
D. Discoveryland

Of course the answer is C. Disney World

When Walt Disney passed away on December 15, 1966, there was great concern within the Disney organization that Disney World would never be built without his leadership and guidance. But his brother, Roy O. Disney, postponed his planned retirement to helm the organization, and the first item on his to-do list was to complete "Disney World." As it neared completion, Roy officially changed the name to Walt Disney World so, "People will always know that this was Walt's dream."

CC, you might have been riding LL's coattails, but correct none-the-less! I award you 48.6 points and an additional 31 for already having planned your son's Halloween costume. I like a girl who is prepared! :thumbsup2

JJ, you missed the last one completely and were deducted 6 points. You show up, apologize, state your excitement for this game, and neglect to guess. :rotfl2: Genius! Take 100 gumption points!

JJ: 253 Points
CC: 275.6 Points
LL: 272 Points
Elsa: 50 points
