I'm totally fed up with shaving every day and this seems like it might an option. I'm a bit reluctant to shell out, though, given that, a) it might hurt like hell, and, b) it might not work.
I had my legs waxed the day before I went to Orlando last month.
I hadn't had it done before, and I was a bit worried, but my need to not have to shave the pins for a while was the deciding factor.
It really wasn't that bad, and as it wasn't me doing it it sort of made it easier?
Worse bit was the ankles, but it was over really pretty quick, and the end result was certainly worth it (so much that I am getting it done again on Saturday<g>).
I think given the choice I would have waxing done rather than epilator type thing.
Another vote for waxing - I had mine done the day before we went - along with my pedicure - and it really makes a difference not having to shave everyday of the holiday. I think the legs are smoother and have a nice shine to them after waxing!!
DD (16) got an epilady for last Xmas.....she thinks its great.
(she has the one with the ice pack to numb the area........it didnt numb it enough for me......think I need a general anaesthetic)
I tried it for like......ermmmm 2 seconds.........can cope with waxing .......but the pain.....OUCH
Even tried it with her in control...........was mega ouch
I usually go and get waxed the day before the holiday.
I was told by the beutician that the best thing to do is to have 2 aspirin a couple of hours before the wax But it is done so quickly that it isn't that sore! Give it a go you'll be ok!

My advice to a 16 yr old would be to leave hair well alone if possible, I have friends that have never waxed /shaved and their hair is like baby down.
(I must add we are talking leg hair here..I'm not that close to my work mates)lol.

If I had been able to stop her shaving, I wouldnt have gone the epilady route with her....and yes .....had explained that once she started the hairs grow thicker. But, epilady'd (sp*)
hair is wayyyy finer on regrowth than shaved. Sadly teens nowadays are starting the shaving route earlier n earlier....she had class mates that were shaving legs and forearm hairs from the age of 12 So peer pressure makes a big difference.......and lol there was no way she wasnt gonna get rid of leg hair someway or another.....personally I preferred her to use an epilady than to shave.....
Reason explained now.
I use an epilator and love it. I love the fact that I don't have to shave very often. If you pull the skin tight it doesn't hurt. I don't do my arm pits with it as 1. I don't mind shaving them and 2. I can't get the skin there tight enough not to hurt LOL. Also the more you use it the easier it gets.
