LA Times - "Orange County could leap into yellow tier, with widest reopenings, as soon as next week"

I’ll take 35%. We were at WDW for five nights last week. It was very crowded. Disney won’t release the actual capacity but having visited the MK many times since 1971 when I lived in Florida, I know crowded and it was bad. Add low 90 degree temps, super high humidity along with face masks and it made for a less than enjoyable time. 35% sounds good to me. We arrive on 6/13.
I just booked in for Memorial Day Weekend (May 27-31) today. Grandkids want to go for DGS's birthday. It will be their first time to ride Rise so all are excited. We (my daughters and I) were there for opening weekend and it was about 15% then, and moved over the 2 weeks to 20%. It was supposed to be getting close to 35% by Memorial day weekend. Lots of travel coming up as we just drive home, then turn around on the 2nd to head back down for Avenger's Campus to open. Will be interested to see the difference between then and our end of month trip June 24-28.

See ya real soon! But we're OOS, so we just get VGC and DTD. However, we haven't been anywhere for 16 months, so it's good enough to get our toes wet for our first vacation.
Made it! Cajon Pass was really ugly because a semi decided to break down near the bottom of the pass
We got a great 1 br and VGC doesn’t use the pumps in the showers. Yay! Maybe that’s a Florida thing?

What pumps? Do you mean for soap?
California did pass a law eliminating disposable amenities, but implementation must have been delayed due to COVID

Most the Disney World resorts have pumps in the shower for shampoo and conditioner. But they also had small bars of soap.

They can't raise ride capacity. It's 25% in both orange and yellow tiers.
Who is making sure this is enforced? Disney management can do as they please. They don't publish attendance figures, so who besides Disney has this information?

Probably CalOSHA, or whoever the primary regulator is for theme parks. They can demand unpublished figures, and will respond to employee complaints.

Unlike most other theme parks, Disney has onsite Fire Marshals. The Fire Marshal determines the capacity daily. And while a lot of people ethics allow them to violate rules, Disney being as large as they are, has a lot of people watching and can't just drop their ethics. And remember "attendance" and "capacity" are 2 totally different numbers. Capacity is determined by so many things, such as having a walkway open or closed alters the capacity. This is why capacity can increase, without increasing a %. An example, Avenger's Campus will be opening. When it opens, the area has an approximate capacity of 5K. This will increase the 35% allowance by 1750.

Also, normal capacity counts all working employees. However, using the 25/35% numbers, if the employee is vaccinated or being tested in the testing program, they do not count in the special capacity counts.
