La Cava del Tequila Opens in Epcot

La Cava del Tequila will become the newest addition at Epcot's Mexico Pavilion on August 28, 2009. Through the décor, art work, original artifacts and products served it will celebrate the heritage and tradition of Tequila making in Mexico.

Guests visiting La Cava del Tequila will have the opportunity to enjoy over 70 types of authentic tequila from several major brands, ranging from the simplest to the rarest of them all, aged to perfection and made from the finest distilled spirits from the Agave Plant. A Tequila Ambassador will be on-hand to educate guests on the history of Tequila making and its rich Mexican heritage.

Exotic and unique-blended margaritas will be served introducing a variety of flavored salts, spices and tropical fresh fruits masterfully prepared by experienced mixologists.

A variety of quick tastes "Tapas style" will be available, including freshly made guacamole, home fried fresh corn chips, salsas, ceviches and tostadas.

I'm so happy to hear this, even just for the tapas. It's got to be better than the Cantina. (Yuck!)

Fabulous! Where will they put it though? I assume inside the pavillion..but I would think that type of thing would take some time to put in...when is this opening?

According to what I quoted, it's set to open the end of this month. I'm not sure where abouts it will be located, though. Does anyone know?

I am heading for the world in 10 days time and this place is on the top of our list to try.

I believe its inside the temple where the old jewllery shop used to be. They have sort of moved things around to make room. The jewllery is still there just in a new location.

So is this gonna be like a kiosk type stand, counter service or sit down type place. From the description seems to be sort of a CS but just wasnt sure.

Thanks so much for posting this. Lets just hope that the salsa is better than what they serve at the cantina. Salsa is so easy and inexpensive to make I don't get why they have the pre-packaged kind in the plastic cup. It's horrible. Just buy some tomatoes, cilantro, garlic, onions, jalapeno, and a food processor. Like a mexican restaurant does.
