La Cava del Tequila to Open August 28

Thanks for the pics. Can't wait to try one of the flights. I hope they will start taking TIW card.

I wonder if they have the Tanteo Tequila Chocolate Infusion. I have wanted to try that one....but haven't found it anywhere. supposed to have a chocolate taste with jalapeno peppers :thumbsup2

How would you drink that? In a margarita?? A shot??

Thanks for the pix & info. PatriciaH!

This is on our list to try for our upcoming trip. Having an idea ahead of time will be a big help.

I've been there Saturday and Tuesday. There's no special pass that I heard of. You can buy a Tequila Flight consisting of 3 tequilas to taste. They don't take TIW.

Sorry - I know I'm going back to an old thread, but wanted to pass along our experiences just in case it may be helpful to anyone else.

DH & I made it to La Cava del Tequila on the 20th and wish we'd given ourselves more than just 1/2 hour. We arrived around 8:30p with plans of trying a flight and then going out to see Illuminations. Next time we go back we've decided to allow ourselves a good 2 hours for the Tequila bar.

I had a flight of tequila and DH had a mixed drink. I don't remember the name of the flight I had, but I did think that the Don Julio wasn't bad - I'll be looking for that next time I need to pick up tequila at the liquor store. They offered 3 different flights ranging from around $15 to $25.
We did not eat there, so can't comment on the food.

DH's drink was a Hibiscus margarita (or something along those lines). It was sweet, but I liked the little taste of it I had.

They had a pretty extensive menu of tequila & mixed drinks. They also had more standard libations like beer & wine for folks not feeling quite so adventurous.

The staff was awesome! :thumbsup2 Friendly and helpful. Because we were celebrating my birthday they treated me to one free drink. :)

I would definately recommend anyone interested stop in, give yourself more than half an hour and enjoy this little gem!

Here are some pix from our vist there:

Trying my first shot (there are 3 shots of tequila + a little tomato juice to sip between to clean your palet).

Yeah - it was that good/bad. Don't you love that liquor face?

The finished flight.... Like I mentioned earlier, the Don Julio was actually fairly smooth (as far as tequila goes).

DH enjoying his boat drink.

Handful of shots from inside. It is larger than it looks from outside. The bar is small, but there are lots of tables.

Cheryl, thanks for the review. What were the other tequilas you tried besides the Don Julio? If you remember.

Nice tequila face!!!

I cannot wait to stop here during our trip.:woohoo:

PS: You look great in your tiara!

I honestly don't remember what the other 2 were - I do remember that it was the most expensive of the 3 flights available. I only remembered the Don Julio 'cause I liked it. I think it will make some smoooth margaritas!

was it repesado? Don Julio or was it the blanco Don Julio?

I honestly don't know. I just was worried about remembering the name "Don Julio" (can you tell I'm a total novice at the tequila thing?)

All Ears doesn't seem to have a copy of the menu up either. Hopefully that will be on line soon! If not I'll just have to go back & do a better job of writing all this information down. :rotfl:

It was Don Julio Blanco. You can make it out in this pic that another reviewer took.

It appears they give you one of each type of tequila; Anejo, Reposado & Blanco. Cheryl, the Reposado or Blanco would be perfect for your margarita's.
