Kouzzina ??

I have only been there for dinner when it was Spoodles, but I have been there for breakfast and it was pretty good. DH loves their pancakes!

DDthen16 and I ate at Kouzzina in Aug 2010 and loved it. We were wary, as we were disappointed that Spoodles was closed, but we really loved the food at Kouzzina. DD had the cinnamon stewed chicken and I had the lamb shank. We were very pleased and will be taking DH in October!

We just returned from the World this Monday and had dinner there Friday 08/26. We are a family of 4 (kids are teens and can be adventerous eaters) and Greek food is really my favorite.

We were greeted by a somewhat stressed hostess. She couldn't find my 7:50 ADR and when I started to recite my confirmation number (booked at 180 days outshe looked at another list and "found" us.

We didn't even wait 5 minutes and we we called for our table. Barbara was our waitress and she was training Megan. Barbara in particular was engaging and we had NO problems at all with service- getting what we wanted when and the pace of the meal was fine.

The place was hopping and I did find it a bit loud but expected that. The furnishings are warm and our table was comfortable.

For appetizers:

Calamari with garlic and spicy yogurt dips.
This was quite good. The portion was acceptable but my son hoovered so quickly the rest of us were lucky to get any! The garlic dip was better than the spicy one which was a little sweet, too. Unexpected.

Brussel Spouts in capers.
Kids wouldn't eat these which happily meant more for my husband and me. Loved these.

Entrees:

Me- the lamb. This was good. The lamb fell off the bone and was very tender. The accompanying beans were not my favorite, but that's because I am not a real bean fan as opposed to the quality of the food. I do wish the plate had a bit more pepper sauce with it as that was flavorful and had a bit of a kick.

DH- the whole fish which was was a Mediterranean one starting with a B I think. My husband LOVED this. In fact this restaurant was his favorite of our stay. He enjoyed the texture and taste of the white fish and liked the olive and greens accompaniment.

Kids- Greek Lasagna
Neither of them finished this. I tried it and when you got past the bechamel (which was quite light and tasty) the sauce with the pasta was just too full of cinnamon. Now I like my sauces influenced with cinnamon, in fact I prefer it, but this just had too much for my palate.

Dessert:

Me- I had the custard in phyllo dough with the ice cream. The phyllo dough was not really crisp but the flavor of the custard and the icecream were nice.

DH- Baklava with an accompanying icecream. He enjoyed this but said it was pretty standard baklava.

DD-Bundino cake- She ate about half of it but I think it was a matter of her getting full than not liking it.

DS: Coffee Creme Brulee. He only ate half of his and it seemed that the creme part hadn't really set so it looked soupy to me. I didn't try it to comment on the flavor. it really didn't look too appetizing after he broke into it.

For drinks, I had a red sangria which was really good-one of the bests I have had and my husband had a white Greek wine in a carafe that was bright and light.

So, as you see a bit of a mixed experience. It was a good experience, not a great one. I would probably go back but not right away for want of trying some other places first.

We had dinner there October, 2010. I had the fish stew (delish---broth worth slurping and DH had a spiced chicked dish which he enjoyed for the novelty (for us) of the seasoning. We stayed at BWI CL and the lounge late afternoon snacks were from the Kouzzina kitchen and they were very good.

The breakfasts are to die for! Dinner service can be a bit chaotic and loud but breakfast is a bit more laid back.

We're fans:thumbsup2

OOH...we are staying BW CL next Dec, I wonder if afternoon snacks will be from Kouzzina??!!

We were just there last Saturday 8/27. We had made an ADR for 1900 Park Faire but after the morning in MK decided to make it a 3/4 day and spend the evening at the resort (we were staying at the BC) so I scrambled for an ADR in the BW area or WS and found an opening at Kouzzina. Friends of ours rave about it so we thought we'd give it a try.

The bread was outstanding and we ate the whole basket in lieu of an appetizer. DD8 ordered a standard kids meal which was fine, DH had the pork which he really liked but ordered it medium so I wouldn't taste it (pork cannot be pink for me) DDs and I ordered the steak which I thought was really great as far as steaks go (not so adventurous I know) and I also ate DD8's sweet potato fries which were delicious. DD16 said the steak was the best meal she had on the trip. For dessert we had the warm chocolate cake (outstanding) the coffee creme brulee (very good) and the baklova ( good) Coffee was excellent here.

All in all it was a good meal. We were seated in a room off to the side so it was not so open or noisy which was great, but I can see why people in the main dining room would find it loud. I did also think it was a good deal for 1 TS on DDP, but OOP it would be very expensive.
