Kona Island Sushi Bar-- Info PLS :)

I completely forgot that I had read there's a really good sushi bar at the Polynesian. Im thinking on some of the days where we dont have a set plan for lunch or dinner, we could go there- since we're staying at the Poly.
Can anyone give me some feedback on the sushi there? Also, where exactly is it? Is there a place to sit and eat? Also, can we order from there if we are eating at the Kona Cafe? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

It is between the Kona Cafe and the doors leading to the monorail platform. Yes, you can sit there. Yes, you can order sushi if you are eating at Kona. You can even order from Kona if you are eating at the sushi bar apparently.

I'm not sure that the Kona Island sushi bar will work for you for a casual lunch. From what I recall, they don't begin serving sushi until 5:00 PM.

DS13 & I stopped by for a quick bite in March & really enjoyed it. Not sure about DDP but they did take my TiW.

The previous post is true - no lunch. They don't start serving sushi until about 5 PM.

They take DDP TS credits (not CS or snacks - this is not considered a CS restaurant). Includes a beverage and a dessert from Kona. On DxDDP you can get two sushi rolls.

Since they don't accept ADR's it's best to stand and wait for some chairs at the Sushi Bar or the counter against the window to open up incase you need to wait, so once those people leave go and sit down.

Kona Island Sushi Bar = Yummy! We stayed at the Poly last summer and I went a couple times when there was not a wait, ordered some sushi, and put it in my fridge in my room so when I got back from the park that night I had a snack. It was FABULOUS!

Also, I believe they would sell fresh sushi items from the day in the cooler in Captain Hooks. I never bought any but it seemed like they would place it in the cooler for the day and then what did not sell that day would be taken out and replaced the next day.

Just wanted to say that we went to the sushi bar @ the Poly last week and it was outstanding! My DH and I both had the volcano roll and have been craving more ever since! Soooooo good! We had gone to the bar near Ohana's for our Lapu Lapus but you can just order them at the sushi bar--didn't realize that. We also ordered dessert from Kona there too. The whole experience was great! Highly recommended!

My Dad once purchased the Sushi sold at Captain Cook's, he said there are completely different and not as good.
