Kohls experts, how do returns and Kohls cash work?

Just placed an order online at Kohls, and purchased a bunch of cuddl dud shirts for DD (who is away at college). I ordered three different colors in two different sizes (not sure if she is an S or an M). So almost certainly I will be returning some of the shirts once she decides which ones she likes.

Kohls gave me $15 in Kohls cash because I spent $50. But what happens if I return the shirts and the order total is then less than $50?

Thanks!

You lose your kohl's cash. If you spend the Kohl's cash and then return some of the shirts, they will deduct the amount of the kohl's cash from your return amount unless you take store credit.

Just echoing what the PP said - If your return drops you below the $50 then you will loose the Kohl's cash or they will deduct from your return.

You won't lose it if you opt to return your purchase for a merchandise credit, which is a good deal.

I just returned some items, totally expecting them to deduct $10 from my return since I had used the Kohl's cash. I was thrilled to get a store credit for the entire amount...which is fine since I know I will buy more from Kohls this season.

It depends... Last year, I accidentally got to keep the Kohls cash. Black Friday I bought something off one stack, and thought wow that rang up wrong because it was remarkably more expensive. Come to find out, somebody put the item in the cheaper display stack. I returned the item and they never asked for the Kohls cash back.

On another occasion, I returned something, realized I bought the wrong size later on and I had already spent the Kohls cash. They offered me the money back minus the $10 Kohls cash, or the full amount back on a gift card. I opted for the gift card.

It's simple. Take a merchandise credit and you keep the Kohls cash. Take the credit in cash or back to a credit card etc. and you lose it.

I think it depends. I returned some things last year and got full credit back and they did not take it off my kohls bucks. Maybe I just got lucky!

I had this happen to me as well. I told the cashier I had Kohls cash and needed the credit on a GC. She told me not to worry about it and just to keep it. I guess I got lucky too!

Hope I'm wrong but..... don't get too excited until you actually try to USE the kohl's cash. The computer automatically deducts the Kohls cash unless you take an in store credit.

They just might not have told you that it was being deducted.

They used to take it off my returns but the last few times they haven't. I don't use the cash afterwards, but they have given me full credit on my returns without even asking about the Kohls cash.

I always make a point of asking if they can give me a merchandise credit before anything gets deducted. I know I'll always be back to shop...

I used my Kohl's cash that same day so it wasn't deducted or invalid. I was willing to take a credit to keep my cash but was told it wasn't needed. I had my reciept and Kohl's cash with me and was trying to do the right thing.
