My kitty is vision impaired, but also sneaks out whenever he can. He needs a place to stay for a week while we are away, as our house is on the market & kitty is TOO friendly and we dont want him to scare off potential buyers or sneak out while they are coming in & out. If he gets out, he is never going to make it back, with his vision issues he walks into things and falls off of things, and he is unfamiliar with cars. We cant have someone come to my home to care for him because he needs to be crated before any showings & we dont have anyone that can be at the realtors beck & call.
Here are my choices:
DF mom's house, with lots of people coming & going. I do NOT trust her not to let him out. She is one of those people that would let him out & never even notice. She lives 5 mins away. This is the same lady that left a grandchild at the park and didnt notice for more than an hour.
or
my moms house, 2 hour howling meowing car drive away, and upsets her kitties. He has a room he can stay confined in, but the cats growl at each other thru the door. My mom gets mad, but I know she will take good care of him.
DF really wants me to bring kitty boo to his moms, but I feel like I will do nothing but worry all week. And he is not familiar with her home, and they have steep steps. I want kitty to go to my moms, even though it adds 2 meowing hours to our drive. I KNOW he will be safe, and he is my fur baby.
Would you give future MIL a chance? Or trust your instinct and take him where you know he will be safe? Please solve this fight between DF & myself. I would never forgive him or his mom if kitty boo escaped.
