KISS Challenge Check in

WOW!!! I checked out the link--you guys are so motivated!! It reminds me of induction--only WORSE!!!
I am a little slow, but also expecting TOM--when I am finished, if I don't start losing again like I used to, I may go to this!! I am going to check in with you guys to see how you did!!
Great idea to get moving again!! Good job!!! I know you all will be successful!!

oh drat.

I went to my parents house yesterday and got caught unprepared for dinner. I ended up having a salad with lunch meat and cheese.

So today is DAY 1 (again), for me.

I'm so excited for all of you!

KISS works great and I wish I could join you (I need to join you!) -but I'm flying out to Seattle this weekend for a wedding. I'll try to start next week for the last few days (I'm going to either do the fat fast or KISS for the next few days - I prefer KISS, I love all those veggies!)

Anyway, I'm wishing all of you great success and I know each one of you is going to be able to get through this!

Cheering for each and everyone of you!

Karyn

OK. Day One for me.

Question: Does newman's own dressing have preservatives in it?? If the bottle (of whatever dressing) says "no preservatives" or you can tell from the ingredients, then is it OK to have??

2nd Question: I plan on having soy nuts tonight,(already added them to my journal but haven't eaten them yet) are they ok??

B- scrambled eggs
L- tuna / mayo
D-hamburgers
green beans
scrambled eggs
butter

OOOOPS!!

3rd Question:
When you say eat a lot of veggies, do you still count carbs and try to have under 20 carbs a day??

Weigh In - 218
start of two week KISS challenge

8:30am - Omelet w/ 2 eggs, 1/2c asparagus, Mrs.Dash, and pepper - mug of decaf coffee

11:00am - Romaine Lettuce w/grilled chicken breast, TBSP of chopped onion, Newmans olive oil & vinegar dressing, mrs.dash, and freshly ground pepper.

I'm doing okay so far on day one but I REALLY would love to have some cheese and/or something with splenda. A diet rite soda would taste Oh so good right now.

4:30pm - grilled chicken breast
broccoli & cauliflower w/butter

I just got in from a verrrrry long day. But I was successful with the first day:

Breakfast: 3 eggs, scrambled in butter

Lunch: 1/2 chicken breast (microwaved with salt, pepper and garlic powder) and a cut up cucumber.

Dinner: 8 oz strip steak with plain lettuce. (I was at a dinner meeting and had little from which to pick.

Sounds like so little, yet I am always satisfied when I finish a meal. Who would have thought I'd be happy without sauces, breads, etc.

Now a question for the techies. I would like to add the Kiss Challenge clippie. But, how do you do it so the clippies go across the bottom rather than underneath one another? I hope this is an understandable question.

Anyway, Congratulations to all of you who have stuck with the challenge today. One more day to your goal.

I'll check back tomorrow

Hi everyone... I could not check in this morning as my ISP provider was having technical difficulties... and then I was CONSUMED at work today. Anyway, I am down another 1/2 pound this morning! :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: That puts me at 140.5 lbs - 5 1/2 pounds to go to goal.

My menu today was EXACTLY the same as yesterday's for breakfast and lunch, but dinner was 6 ounces of grilled steak and 1 cup of steamed green beans with 1 TBS of butter on it.

Mom of Sleepy, Bashful and BabyDoc - To answer your questions:

Newman's Own oil and vinegar is an excellent dressing choice. It is simple ingredients and all KISS legal. Enjoy it!

Soy nuts are NOT OKAY on KISS. No nuts or seeds of any kind. Sorry. But save them for when you are done KISSing!

Good morning everyone! I weighed in ONE FULL POUND lighter this morning! That puts me at 139.5 pounds and I am now 4 1/2 pounds away from my goal. :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc KISS always works for me ... I just put off doing it because it DOES get kind of boring after a while. But... it is manageable and I lose easily on it every time I have done it.

Here is my menu for today (Tuesday):

B - 3 eggs scrambled with diced tricolored peppers and diced onion. Large mug of black coffee.

L - 1/2 cup of diced up chicken (boneless/skinless breast) and 2 TBS of mayo and some diced onion - to make a chicken salad. Served with 3/4 of a cup of sliced fresh cucumber.

D - One 4 ounce hamburger patty grilled with 1 TBS of mayo and 3 LARGE slices of my home grown garden tomatoes. 3 stalks of celery.

Lots of water, my usual supplements and today is one of my days off from Curves - but I plan to walk for a half hour during my lunch break.

started KISS 9/29 - 218 pounds

Weigh In today - 215

10:45am - Omelet w/2 eggs, onion & zuchinni [very YUM]!

2:00pm - apx 5oz of ground beef fried with onions, green & red peppers, & 1/2 of a plum tomatoe.

5:30pm - Bowl of Creamy Broccoli/Cauliflower soup YUM!

I cooked one 16z bag of cauliflower in beef broth until the cauliflower was very soft. Put the cooked cauliflower in a blender and puree until smooth. Add some of the beef broth to get it to the consistancy that you like your soup. Cook a second 16oz bag of veggies [I used broccoli/cauliflower mix] until tender. Drain and pour the puree mixture over the cooked veggie pieces. Season as you choose --- I used some butter, crazy salt and freshly ground pepper. Very Tasty! For a non-KISS meal I would have pureed w/cream cheese and/or topped with some shredded cheddar when serving.

Woooohooooo!! I did it! And I have 2 less pounds of me today.
It was hard, though. I wanted a diet pepsi something fierce. And I was so hungry. I figured it out and I only had 1150 calories and I did my keto stick and it was dark purple. I must have really been burning the fat.

Anyway, I finally got to claim my 10 pound clippie so I am very happy today.:teeth:

Wow these are AWSOME results :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Jodi, I am so glad to see our KISS challenge has jump started your weightloss again. You Go Girl :)

And Pamela, your new clippie is great! Well worth the KISS huh?

As for the technical question:
In your sig space in User CP, add the KISS clippie right after your WISH clippie without a carriage return. This is what mine looks like:

<img src="http://users.rcn.com/meroth/screenCapt.gif">

You can't see the whole code in the screen capture, but you can see that one img starts right after the other.

the code you want to add is:

{img src="http://users.rcn.com/meroth/1KISS.gif" }

Just replace the {} with <>.

I'm down a pound :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

OMG!!! You guys are WHOOSHING away the pounds!

wovenwonder - THREE POUNDS!!! That is a tremendous kick off to the KISS challenge. This really DOES work. :) It is essentially going to the barebones basics and clearing the deck of anything that might be complicated your loss process. I have found that when things aren't working... going back to basics is the best "first step" in working it out.

Mom of Sleepy, Bashful and BabyDoc - TWO POUNDS!!! You are also off to a really great start on the challenge! Hang in there ... it is simpler eating... but you know it is quite satisfying being able to eat as much as you want of the legal veggies and the rewards are great.
plutosmyfav - Wow! DOWN A POUND!!!! Awesome job!

You guys are doing great!

Either
1. I was still asleep when got on the scale yesterday, or
2. I really screwed up on this KISS thing, or
3. The Gods of Obesity like me too much to let me start moving away from them....

What happened is that I got on the scale today and have gained 4 pounds since yesterday. Now the scale was acting quite weird yesterday and I thought it seemed a little light, but was willing to take what it said. Now I think I must have been wrong!

Never let it be said a little thing like a scale deterred me from my mission. I stuck to KISS today and will try the scale again tomorrow AM.

Today:

B: 3 eggs, scrambled in butter
L: 1/2 chicken breast and 1 cucumber
D: Salad with Newman's Oil and Vinegar, broiled garlic shrimp and broiled haddock.

Lots of H20.

I'm sure I'll have better luck tomorrow!

Janed - hang in there. Sounds like your scale is a bit wacky!

Well guys I lost another FULL pound when I stepped on the scale this morning! I am now 138.5 lbs and 3 1/2 pounds away from my goal! I have completed 5 days of KISSing and lost 4 1/2 pounds in total.

Today's menu:

B - 3 eggs scrambled with diced onions and tricolored peppers, large mug of black coffee.

L - 3 ounces of grilled boneless/skinless chicken breast all diced up on 1 cup of romaine lettuce and 1/2 cup of diced up celery and 3 TBS of Newman's Own Oil & Vinegar dressing

D - 6 ounces of grilled boneless/skinless chicken breast and 1 1/2 cups of steamed fresh brocolli with 1 TBS of butter.

Lots of water, my usual supplements and working out at Curves.

Well, I'm on day 3. Yesterday was:

scrambled eggs
hard boiled eggs
more hard boiled eggs (do we see a pattern?:teeth:)
chicken breasts
must have been 4 cups of cauliflower in plenty of butter.....yum,yum
mint herbal tea

Today, the 3rd day:

Breakfast - scrambled eggs
Lunch will be: chicken breast with mayo
Dinner will be: salad with Newman's Own dressing
tunafish

Started KISS 09/29/03 at 218 lbs.

Weigh In today - 214 [10/01/03]

12:00noon - Broccoli/Cauliflower soup [recipe above]

4:30pm - Chicken Breast w/mayo, lettuce, tomatoe, onion

Well, not as bad as yesterday, I only gained 1/2 pound! At least on the MD scale at work. On my home scale it looked like I lost 2 pounds. Drat. I'll never really know where I stand when I stand on the scale. But, I persevere...

B: 2 eggs, scrambled in butter
L: Salad of lettuce, pepper, cucumber and chicken breast with Newman's Oil and Vinegar
D: 1/2 chicken breast and Cauliflower.

As long as I don't gain another 4 pounds tomorrow I think I'll be OK.

Congrats to all who are succeeding. I'll be with you soon!

I CAN'T BELIEVE IT. I'M DOWN ANOTHER 3 POUNDS.

I stepped on the scale 4 times because I didn't believe it. How can this be?? That's a total of 6 pounds since Monday morning. Is that possible? I guess it is. WOW!

This gives me more motivation for the remaining 10 days. Keep going KISSers. This obviously works!:D

Mom of Sleepy, Bashful and BabyDoc - Yes, yes it does! Congratulations on your success to date... keep at it!

I am down ANOTHER 1/2 pound this morning - puts me at 138 lbs - only 3 more to goal but even if I reach goal before the 14 days are up - I am going to go through October 9th which will be my final 14th day. Hopefully I will get to goal and drop a pound or two more to give me a cushion. :)

Janed - sorry about your wacky scale... but I think you started out higher than you realized and are having success - so KEEP IT UP!

wovenwonder - You are doing awesome!

Here's my menu for today:

B - 3 eggs scrambled with diced up onions and tri-colored peppers. Large mug of black coffee.

L - 1/2 cup of chicken salad (diced chicken breast meat and 2 TBS of mayo and a little onion) on a large bed of romaine lettuce.

D - 5 ounces of grilled beef loin steak, 1 1/2 cups of steamed brocolli with 1 TBS of butter

Going grocery shopping after work tonight to replenish my supply of lovely low carb veggies!

Be sure to eat your veggies and enjoy them and have a great Thursday!

started KISS on 9/29 - 218 pounds

Weigh In Today - 212! (10/02/03)

I am just AMAZED at how making such little changes reapes such BIG RESULTS! I've lost 6 pounds in 3 days and I feel fabulous. I am eating eggs, healthy meats, and lots of healthy veggies. I also have thrown in the occasional cream in the coffee and diet soda and I'm doing FINE. I plan to stick to this way of eating - it works! And look what I was able to pick up this morning.....

10wish.gif

9:30am - Omelet [2 eggs, onion, mushrooms]

12:noon - BS chicken breast grilled on my sm. George Foreman. [I had forgotten I even had the thing -- I didn't use it for so long].

5:30pm - 2 chicken legs

I know I didn't get enough of veggies in today. I'll have to be sure to watch that more for future days.
