KISS Challenge Check in

Jodi,

I am sooooo happy for you!!!!!

:bounce: :bounce:

The timing of the KISS challenge is really neat. You had just posted your discouragement and now look at you!!!! I am so glad it is working for you.

As for me (sigh)
I fell off the wagon last night. Not only did I cheat on KISS, I cheated on Atkins alltogether. I'm PMSing, but I still don't know what got into me that made me throw away a perfectly good start to my KISS challenge.

So, I'm back today on DAY1, minus a cheat free star, and nearly lost my 20lb clippie :(

As discouraged as I am with my own progress, I get so excited when I come back and check the thread to hear the great success!

DixieDreamer, I'm working on the "KISS Survivor" medal-- looks like you'll be the first to be awarded the honor :)

Pamela, your success is AWSOME!!!:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

And Janed, I agree with Dixie, I bet you have made alot more progress than your wacky scales give you credit for!

Keep up the good work, guys. I'm climbin' back on the wagon today.

WISHin' and KISSin' my way to goal :)

PlutosMyFav

Oh, Jody, that's FANTASTIC!! Looks like you and I have the same kind of response to this WOE. It's wonderful. And a new clippie to boot!! I couldn't be happier for you.

Plutosmyfav - Hey, this is just a bump in the road. No worries. You are right back on program and it is history and forgotten. I did the same thing last week and lost my 14 day clippie. I don't even think about it. It's what we do 90% of the time that counts, not the 10%.

I predict that 25 lb. clippie is close at hand since you will be KISSing!!!!:teeth:

Onwards and downwards, people!:Pinkbounc :bounce: ;)

No change on either scale today. :( I'm really starting to get depressed over this.

B: 3 eggs, scrambled in butter
L: 1/2 chicken breast and 2 cups of cauliflower
D: Large salad with tomato, cucumber, chicken breast, pepper and topped with Newman's Oil and Vinegar.

So this is getting harder to do, especially with no results. But I'm kind of like a loyal dog. I stick by even in the difficult times.

I will take special care of myself tonight and try to get out of this mental funk.

Congrats to you all who are losing!

westjones - If you go to the very first post on this thread... it is explained there and includes a link to the guidelines for KISS. Hope you join us!

plutosmyfav - Dust yourself off and get back to KISS! :)

I am holding steady to day on the scale. Here is my menu for today:

B - 2 fried eggs and 1 cup of sliced mushrooms sauteed in 1/2 TBS of butter and 1/2 TBS of olive oil. Large mug of black coffee.

L - 3 ounces of grilled boneless/skinless chicken breast on a large bed of romaine lettuce with 3 TBS of Newman's Own Oil & Vinegar dressing.

D - 2 roasted chicken thighs and 1 1/2 cups of steamed green beans with 1 TBS of butter.

Working out at Curves tonight too.

started KISS 9/29/03 - 218 pounds

Okay KISSers --- the weekend is HERE! We must keep ahold of ourselves and end this weekend on a succesful note. WE CAN DO IT KISSers!::yes::

I've been more succesful [weight wise] this week than I EVER have in my entire life. I only lost 4 pounds in two weeks with Atkins induction. Ofcourse that induction included bacon, ham, lunchmeat, cheese, cheese, cheese [did I remember to say CHEESE :teeth: ]. I know that all of those things were what held me back this ENTIRE year. YES -- I wasted an ENTIRE YEAR!

But watch out baby...... I'm on my way NOW!

Every morning this week I wake up and am fearful to get on the scale --- this just cannot continue like this and I will GAIN again like I'm use to --- right? So I step on the scale slowly and open one eye at a time and --- NO it cannot be right --- I better try it again. Sure enough I'd gone down again. I know this won't continue at this rate [heck it would NOT be healthy to continue at this rate] but I'm going to enjoy it while it lasts.

So who else has had such an eye opening that they feel they will continue some form of this KISS plan for MUCH LONGER than the two week challenge?

Thanks SO MUCH Dixie Dreamer!:sunny:

And to my 'secret KISS Buddy' --- I am here cheering YOU on! I know that you have struggled just as much as I have with Atkins but WE WILL DO IT! I am proud of you for giving it another try ----- so VERY proud of you friend!

Well, another day and things are looking up. Looks like a 3 lb loss overall in 4 days. BUT, I was ravenous today and ate lots!!

B: 3 eggs scrambled in butter
L: 3 pieces honey mustard chicken breast and 1 cup cauliflower
D: BBQ chicken - must have been a 1/2 of the chicken - and chopped broccoli and cauliflower.

I feel like having something else tonite. I think I have to get my PJs on and stretch out on the couch with a tall glass of H2O.

GET ME OUT OF THE KITCHEN!!!! :genie:

Jody you are soo correct about weekends. I have to work doubly hard to stay on track. I purposefully stocked up on fresh supplies of low carb veggies - and will eat freely of them to combat the temptations. I got a spaghetti squash and plan to cook it up tomorrow... have myself some YUMMY spaghetti squash with butter and some salt... mmm... it is good! DD and DH will have it with some sugar free spaghetti sauce on it. They really give it a thumbs up. I think the joy of KISS eating is to rediscover the veggie options and eat more abundantly of them. And yes.... cutting out cheese, cream, and nuts and the major effect it has ... goes along way in explaining why some of us did not do so terribly great at losing lots during induction! I lost 6 pounds in my 2 week induction. I have always lost more when I KISS. :)

Janed - Be careful about having 'flavored' chicken - especially during KISS. You are trying to obtain MAXIMUM results while going back to the bare basics. Many sauces/flavorings such as BBQ and Honey Mustard could be what are holding you back a little. I've been marinating my chicken breasts in olive oil w/italian seasonings --- then grilling them. They are very tender, flavorful and juicy.
:D

Good morning everyone! I am holding steady on the scale... but feel great! I am resolved to keep going on KISS through the weekend!

Heading to Wenatchee (about an hour and half drive from here) to do a big Costco shopping today. I love their frozen packs of individual 6 ounce servings of salmon fillets. They make such a great meal... Take a frozen fillet - put it in some foil with a dab of butter and a generous sprinkle of old bay seasoning... wrap it up and toss it in the oven (350 degrees) for about 40 minutes and it is a WONDERFUL baked salmon fillet... from frozen to your table in about 45 minutes. No pans either! :)

Have a great one everyone!

I was struggling yesterday, I didnt't even weigh myself because I didn't want to get all upset. We were invited to someone's house for dinner and ...you guessed it.....nothing but carbs. Baked Ziti with tons of cheese, rolls and apple pie! Well, I just went ahead with the idea that sometimes this is going to happen and I will be right back on track the next day, and so I am.

I don't know the damage I did, I don't think I will weigh myself for a few days. But I'm right back on track! :D I was close to my 15 lb clippie and I want it bad, so hopefully I will be able to claim it soon.

And it is so encouraging to read everyone's success. I just love that.:teeth:

Keep it up guys......you are such LOSERS!!! :teeth::crazy: ::yes::

Good morning everyone :)

My plan for today:

B-
broccoli and eggs for breakfast (believe it or not, the broccoli was DS (3)'s idea!!!!)

L
chicken breast and mushrooms sauted in Newman's Own O&V dressing (1 tbs).

D-
haven't decided yet

TOM came today so I'm not checking the scales yet.

Weigh In 210

Started KISS on 9/29 - 218 pounds

10:00am - Omelet [2 eggs, onion, zuchinni]

3:00pm - 1/4 of a grilled chicken breast

6:00pm - Chinese Buffet including salad with a little ranch dressing, crab legs w/ a little butter, steamed shrimp, 2 bites of seafood salad and two bites of garlic chicken/broccoli.

NO - I did not stay KISSing 100% today but I still feel like I've had a succesful day. I really hardly had any quanity of food at all at the buffet. Each thing I had were VERY small amounts. But I was satisfied! I will probably gain in the AM. I usually always do after chinese. But that's okay. I made the choice ahead of time and I'll just drink extra water sunday and get right back on track.

Good job, Jody. Sounds like you handled it well. And you might usually gain after chinese, but looking at what you ate, it sounds more like New England Seafood night. :teeth: I bet you won't gain anything.

Keep it going, guys. You have no idea how you keep me on track!::yes:: :moped:

I kind of lost it yesterday. I was great until 8:00 PM when we got home from a PeeWee football game, frozen! Cold coming on, I was feeling miserable and starving. So, I had a couple of handfuls of the peanuts my husband bought and that started it all. Several tootsie rolls and a brownie later I was satisfied. Now all that's left is the head cold. And I start over.

The good news is that I got on the scale and lost 2 more pounds! How is that possible?

Jody, thank you for your observations. I have to get better about cooking by chicken breasts in advance. When all I have is frozen, I go to the pre-made frozen ones from BJs. While fine on Atkins, I just didn't think about the problem on KISS.

Thank you all for your continued inspiration!

Good Sunday morning everyone! I am still holding at 138 on the scale ... but it dipped down to 137.5 before it popped back and settled on 138. So I am close to a drop but just not quite there. Considering I usually gain on weekends... I am feeling OKAY with a pause. After the whoosh down of 5 lbs last week - I suppose the body needs a little regrouping! :)

My menu for today:

B - 2 eggs fried in butter and 1 1/2 cups of sliced mushrooms sauteed in 1/2 TBS of butter and 1/2 TBS of olive oil. Large mug of coffee.

L - 1 roasted chicken thigh and 1 cup of sliced english cucumbers.

D - 6 ounces of grilled beef loin steak and 1 cup of spaghetti squash with 1 TBS of butter and some salt.

Lots of water and I am going to get outside and move my body in this gorgeous weather we are having.

I am soooo sick! It started yesterday and has gotten progressively worse. I am forced to take expectorant for my chest and NyQuil to sleep. So I must bow out for a couple of days. I will, however, be back! ;):wave2:

Now I'm off to bed. 6:21 PM - a new record for me!

Sunday October 5, 2003
Weigh In - 211

9:30am - Veggie Omelet
[2 eggs, zuchinni,mushroom,onion,grn&red peppers]

1:30pm - Cauliflower Puree'

4:30pm - Salad w/ceaser dressing & Hamburger [no roll]
