Kim's new and improved life journal!

Forgot to add Hershey Lodge sounds awesome! What fun you will all have! Makes me want chocolate just thinking about it.:cloud9:

Hey all!

Marie - get your head out of the gutter. :sad2: :rotfl:

Everything is still crazy around here. Running around like crazy with the kids activities. DD's 12 soccer games are all crammed into the month of May, so I guess things aren't gonna slow down until at least June. :goodvibes

Gmom had a bit of a setback yesterday. She was supposed to go home today, but yesterday she passed out while sitting in bed, and then spiked a fever. As of right now, the fever has gone down, but they still don't know the source of it, so they're running more tests. :guilty:

I added a mileage counter to see how I do with walking & running this month. Hopefully I get my rear in gear and show some good mileage. :thumbsup2 (feel free to lay the guilt trips on me if I'm not increasing the miles)

Food's been better, but still not where it should be. But I will do better.

(^%$#%^%(*&^$......mom just called. Gmom has throat cancer. :(

Kim-i am so so so sorry to hear about grandma--please let me know if theres anything i can do..call me anytime if you need me..hang in there kim and ill keep gma in my prayers

I'm so sorry to hear that. I know you're hurting right now.
Are they going to do more surgery? Chemo? Radiation?

My uncle is battling the same thing right now. You and your family are continuing to be in my prayers Kim.
Call me ANYTIME - i mean it girl!

marie:hug:

Oh Kim, I am so sorry that the info about gma was cancer.

Thank you guys. It's been rough, to say the least.

The next step for gmom is radiation, which starts Monday. She's not strong enough for chemo at this point, and is refusing a feeding tube, which would help her get stronger. Technically, it's cancer of the pharynx, which I haven't researched yet because I'm not sure if I want to know yet.

Just knowing I can come here and lay it all on you, that helps me so much guys. I can't thank you enough.

Ok McBeaner.....we're here for you!! :grouphug:

Nice picture!! :rolleyes1
(LOL...had to do that...made ya smile, didn't it?)

  Kim,

I'm so sorry to hear about your grand mom. :( We will definitely keep her and your whole family in our thoughts and prayers.:grouphug: We're here for you WISH sis.:grouphug:

Thank you so much guys. I appreciate you helping me out through this.

I hope your grandma can get some good results from her treatment
You are in my thoughts.

Sending you lots of hugs for you and your family, and especially for your Gmom!

Wendy

Howdy stranger!!

Was just catching up on your world and wanted to tell you that I hope the best for you and your family in regards to your grandmother. I hope that she pulls through and things turn out for the better.

Great pics of the kids back there too! Is his team called the Muckdogs??? What a great name!!!

And...

um....what is that 3 doing beside May walked/ran? Earnhardt tribute or something??? We are 4 days in...that number should be 30 by now!! ;)

Seriously, good luck this month with the running. I KNOW you can put up some good numbers...get out there and get busy!

see ya...

Wow....I thought he fell off the face of the earth!!!
Nice to see ScoJo!! Also, he's the one that can get you motivated to get out there and run again....remember, it's a great stress reliever!! (of course, so is sex....but I'd rather run too!!)

anyway, more hugs   ...hang in there!

Thanks for stopping by, Scott! I need a big old kick in the rear. Good thing you stopped by today & not yesterday, since I finally got in a 3 mile quick walk at lunch today. One of my problems is me not getting to bed at night at a decent time. It's usually midnight before I get to bed (because of my tv addiction) and then there's just no getting me out of bed to run at 5:45 before work. :sad2: I plan on modifying that sleep schedule beginning on Sunday night. Secondly, time is just not on my side. With all the gmom crap (can I be any more insensitive?) and both kids being in sports, I'm having an even harder time finding any time at all to run (besides before work). So my only option is to get to bed earlier and get up early. NO MORE EXCUSES!!!

By the end of next week, that mileage will be significantly higher. By next weekend I will have at LEAST 15 more miles logged. There. I did it. I challenged myself.:scared: (just knowing Scott could pop in is enough to get me going)

Have a wonderful weekend everyone. And come join the party on Jen's journal! :dance3:

   Sorry to hear about your grandmother. Hope the radiation helps and she recovers well! pixiedust: pixiedust: I have a great uncle who had cancer in some part of his throat back when I was in high school and he has been cancer free for a Long time and doing pretty well. Hang in there.

That Been looks pretty cool! I think I like Marie's thoughts on it better than its original intended use :thumbsup2 :rotfl:

Your kids are precious! Your son looks just like you! I, too, like the name of his team! Too cute!

Hope you find some time to take care of yourself this coming week including getting out there and running! :yay: (I fight the TV addiction too and lose most of the time:happytv: :rolleyes1 )
Hope you have a Wonderful weekend! :sunny:

Hey all. Back to the grind tomorrow. :headache:

Had a good weekend. Went to DD's school carnival Friday night. Saturday after DS's teeball game, we helped DH's brother move into his new house...ALL DAY LONG. (great workout :thumbsup2 ) Today, I went for a run this morning, then hospital visits, grocery shopping, then cleaning around the house.

Details:

My run today was AWESOME! :woohoo: Ran more than I walked, and completed 4 miles in 52 minutes. Then the kids wanted to run with me, so we did another 1/2 mile up & down our street (SO much fun).

Hospital: Visited with gmom first. She's pretty much given up and thinks that the radiation treatments ( she starts tomorrow) will help her get to be with my grandfather faster (meaning, death :sad1: ). It was another hard visit with her...but I told her to follow her heart and to make decisions based on herself...not on anyone else. THEN....I got to see Skyelar!! :cutie: She is absolutely beautiful. (I'm not sure if I mentioned this already, but she was moved to the hospital right around the corner from my house last week, since all she needs to do is bulk up at this point). She's almost 4 and 1/2 pounds and taking all of her feedings from the bottle (no more feeding tube). I'm just so happy for Janine and her husband. :cloud9: OH, and her 2 year old DS got to see Skeylar for the first time today (through a window).

I think that's it for now. Another busy home & work week coming up. Here we go....

It must be hard to see both ends of the circle of life with Gma and Skeylar. It sounds like you had a really good conversation with your Gma though and what wonderful news that Skeylar is back close to home now and eating on her own. That is such a big step for preemie's . Janine and family will have her home before you know it now.

Great job getting the run in. :yay: It is hard to make time to run (I'm not doing it all right now:sad2: ), but that feeling when you actually get out there is so great and it seems to make dealing with all the other stuff going on a bit easier. Hang in there and have a good week - walking and running away your stress!

Kim,

Way to go!! Had to be a blast running with the kids, too :) Nice to see you out there grinding out some runs again....I know how difficult it can be with an incredibly busy schedule. Once you make it the priority though, it's amazing how much you can accomplish.

And once again, I'm sorry about the hospital issues...sad to see anyone faced with dealing with those kinds of things. I hope everything works out for all of you and you guys will be in my thoughts.

Still watching Lost? LOL
