Kim's new and improved life journal!

Thanks for stopping by, guys! Welcome aboard Jenn. Buckle up, it's usually a bumpy ride around here! (and we love to pick on each other, don't think we hate each other  )

Eating has been pretty good. Not great, but not eat-fest bad. And I actually went outside for a wonderful walk at lunch today. ahhhhhhh, 50 degrees and sunny. BEAUTIFUL!! I told the new temp (filling in for Janine) to bring in her sneakers if she wants to walk!!

Speaking of Janine....26 weeks today! She had another ultrasound yesterday and her specialist told her that if she were to deliver at 26 weeks, the baby has a 75% chance of making it. Those are GREAT odds, considering what they told her when all of this started 4 or 5 weeks ago. :headache: The baby is weighing approximately 2 pounds now and is developing nicely. Janine still has some bleeding issues here & there, and when she does they move her to labor & delivery, restrict her to bed and scare the living daylights out of her. But the bleeding usually stops quickly & then once she's in the clear for a day or two, they let her go back to the ante pardum unit. :guilty:

Well, I guess that's it. The temp at work is really doing well, so that relieves a HUGE amount of stress for me. I thought I might end up having to do 2 jobs all by myself until Janine comes back (in the fall). So I'm glad it's working out.

Thats great news for Janine Kim, every day that goes by gives her baby more of a chance :)
Glad work is running smoothly for you too :)
The weather sounds lovely, not long till summer now!

Well, guys. I've got that FEELIN again! :yay: I went RUNNING!!!!

I went out around 9am and started at week 3 of the couch-to-5K program. I thought about doing week 4, but it has longer runs & shorter walk/recovery times, so I thought I'd start out slow. The weather was BEAUTIFUL (probably close to 50 and sunny) and I just felt GREAT! :cool1: The plan now is to wake up before work (obviously) and run on Monday and Thursday.

I'm going to do a time spent running challenge for March. Feel free to join in if anyone else wants to! I'm shooting for 400 minutes. That's a little more than 3 times a week for 30 minutes.

Since I'm feeling so good right now, I'm also gonna hope to walk during my lunch break at least 3 days a week and do ab/arm workouts at home at least 3 times a week. The food will fall into place once I get into the workout groove, I'm sure.

Feel free to kick me in the rear if you see me slacking. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I can stay healthy and ward off any potential snowstorms so that my plan will work out! :thumbsup2

Hope you're all having a great weekend! I just thought I'd share, since it's been a while since I've run.

Yay! Welcome back to the pain and sorrow. :rotfl: Please keep up the monthly running challenge and when I'm actually running instead of doing spurts I'll join.

What time will you have to get up in the mornings to run before work? That's dedication right there. :thumbsup2

Glad to hear you got out there today!! Way to go!! I know you felt great afterward!!
Keep it up girl!!!

Hope the snow stays away ;)

Hey guys! Thanks!!

Jenn - I'm only doing spurts too, but to me - it's running. You're more than welcome to join in my challenge. There's no rule that says you have to run the entire time (I'm certainly not!). In order to run before getting ready for work, I probably have to get outside at 6am, so I'll be getting up at 5:45. WISH me luck! (I think next week will be easier than this week, once the daylight savings time kicks in & it won't be so dark in the morning)

Jen - I think it's gonna be a while before I drink like that again! But you're certainly invited next time! :dance3:

Marie - I've missed ya! Hope all is going well!

Tracey - running certainly IS addictive. It's still hard for me to actually get out there & DO it sometimes, but once I do, I remember why I've missed it. :goodvibes

Have a great week, all!

Awesome job on getting out there & running!

I'm VERY TM challenged! I just can't run on it! I think it scares me!

Hope you have a GREAT week this week!

Yes Kim...you are nuts!!!!
That's why we love you!!!! :flower3:

Enjoy your running....just be careful!! We don't want anymore injuries!!

Hey all! I actually did it! I actually woke up EARLY to go out & run. The weather channel scared me a little last night by saying it would be around 21 degrees at 6am, but I bundled up & did it anyway. It had to be at least in the high 30's. It was freezing at all. Or maybe there just wasn't wind. Who knows. Whatever the temp, it was a good run. And (to toot my own horn a little) I am REALLY proud of myself for doing it. It's a great feeling to know I'm done running for the day already. DH was still in the shower when I got back, so I did my abs too! :cool1:

I'm home today with a sick DS and hope to get this house a little more organized.

Have a good day, all! And thanks for stopping by! :wave2:

Way to go getting your running workouts in Kim!:thumbsup2 Keep up the good work!:goodvibes

I don't know that I could/would have been able to do that...not in the morning...I like my warm bed....ALOT!!
I bet you felt great all day because of it!!

Thanks, guys! I really appreciate your posts. I'm having a bad night.

I took both of the kids to the dentist today (usually a VERY dramatic thing) but both were SO good as far as listening, behaving, opening their mouths & showing thier teeth. ANYWAY...

DS gets the clean bill of health. DD's not so lucky. She has 8 cavities!!! Yup, you heard me right......EIGHT!!! :furious: I guess DH and I win the worst parents of the year award. :scared: We don't brush our own teeth at night, and we never had our kids brush at night either. :( Good news (I guess) is that 4 of the cavities are in baby teeth, and they are just going to "watch them" and see how they're doing by her next appointment in September, unless they start hurting. The other 4 are in permanent molars and need to be filled. Wouldn't you know it, we don't have dental insurance on the kids since it costs more per year for the insurance than it would to pay out of pocket for the 2 cleanings per kid per year.

Sorry, I guess that part's not important, but it's just aggrevating. The worst part about this is that she has to go to 4 separate visits to have them filled. Once she has the first novacaine shot for the first filling, I just know it's gonna be SO impossible to get her to go back 3 more times!!! :(

Just had to vent. Thanks if you've stayed with me on this one. :rolleyes2

Oh, and DS is feeling much better. He's done with the barking cough, and is now suffering from only the "sniffs" (as he calls it). :upsidedow

Just thought I'd pop in, check out your journal, and post well wishes. But....there's no such thing as a quick look at this monster! 94 pages! I'm definitely coming back to check out your full story, :coffee: but a couple of things from the last few pages.

--Whoo-hoo! on the getting back in the running groove. I'm not addicted to running, yet, but it's on the to-do list.
--So sorry to hear about DD and the dentist (sounds like a bad movie, huh?). Dentists are my personal nemesis and since my job doesn't pay for our dental insurance at all, I can even feel your financial pain.
--My thoughts are with Janine. It sounds like she's doing great, all things considered.
--And I'm glad to read your work stress is somewhat alleviated with the temp, as it gives you more time for running. And DISing, of course!

Welcome, DKP!! Thanks for stopping by. Yeah, my journal has grown into quite the monster, but we have FUN!!

So sorry about the dentist! That STINKS!!! Last year my DS19 had 8 to be filled - bad teeth & thin enamel run in the family.

Hopefully your DD will be OK with the novacaine. They may be able to use the gel stuff to numb before the shot. It really helps - I'm a total dental chicken!

Glad DS is feeling better. The 'yuckies' seem to be running rampant right now.

Have a good rest of the week!

Hey Kim....sorry about the dentist....that sucks!
Go for a run....you know its a stress reliever!
Hang in there!!!
