Hey guys. I didn't run today, instead I had a pity party and a "poor me" day.Dad definitely has diverticulitis. Once this outburst has settled down with antibiotics, he'll be scheduled for surgery to remove the rest of his colon (he had most of it removed years ago). Sorry if this is TMI....just not an easy road ahead for him, unfortunately.
But a bad week has turned worse....my older sister is scheduled to see an oncologist in a couple weeks, to find out if she has uterine cancer.![]()
Not sure how much more I can take here, guys. I'm sitting here with a glass of wine to calm my nerves. Hopefully tomorrow I'll wake up with a clearer head and ready to get back out there on the trail....
Thanks so much you guys, for everything. Being able to vent to you guys is getting me through.
The only pain I had during my run was an inner ankle pain on both legs. It stopped as soon as I finished my run - and doesn't hurt when I walk. But it was quite noticeable when I ran.Any suggestions?

Hi Kim -
Awesome news about your dad! Also, way to hang in there while all of this is going on for you...I wish you and your family the best.
As for the running deal, check this out:
Posterior tibialis tendonitis this tendon passes underneath the medial malleolus (the inside ankle bone) and attaches into the medial aspect of the foot (navicular bone). Runners usually experience pain below the inside of ankle or slightly further along the inside of the foot.
Might be something to look into?
The first thing I'd check is your shoes...they always seem to be the culprit for lower leg and foot pains.
Hope this is a good week for you!
I wouldn't think it would change so drastically over time...i'd think if they worked well for you in the past, then it may not be the shoes.
Have you increased more than 10% in a week? Maybe it's the treadmill running?
These things are so hard to pin down...try to take a close look at all of your workouts over the last few months and see if anything changed.
Did they change model numbers of the shoes? I know when my shoe went from the 2110 to the 2120, it was horriffic. A model number change could make a drastic difference.
Sorry...I'm kind of all over the place here but there is just a lot that could be causing it![]()
