I don't think someone here would have reported you, several of us had post removed last week due to auction links or telling everyone we had something for sell on ebay! Anyway, that's my opinion.:goodvibes

They (administrator) told me someone reported me. But, that doesn't mean they were necesarrily a member of our little thread I guess. Oh well, lesson learned! I got a warning this time, but if I ever do anything like that again, I will get infraction points. (that's what I was told) So, they said, if I'm in doubt, don't.

I thought I was going crazy and I sat here for a good 10 minutes trying to re-upload my pic in my signature. OK...anyone know what is going on? Are they doing something to the forum with maintenance? the . c o m shows as being as "censored word"...that's a bit freaky. Hope this isn't permanent.

ok.. went to Joanns and bought everything I need for a Pirate themed tulle skirt... I am afraid lol

I am going to attempt a pillowcase dress and handkerchief dress first. I found these cute red with white polka dot handkerchief at walmart today.

Well, I'm officially obsessed! :rotfl: Here's the next in the lineup - this awesome purple princess sparkly toile fabric. It's a little big on her now, but should be okay by Dec.

I still have the colorful princess fabric, some pooh toile, tinkerbell and just got fabric for Animal Kingdom yesterday. Now, what to start next . . .

I love this. Great job. Cute model, too. :goodvibes

I have spent the day cutting out some patterns I recently bought. I need to get to the fabric store tomorrow, so I can finish dd's skort. Hey, does anyone know how to make cording? I know I can buy the cord and use my zipper foot to get nice and close to it. Do I need to cut my strips on the bias or can I just cut it with the grain? TIA.

Thanks everyone! I'm having such a good time making these! We're going to be there for 8 days and DH thinks I'm crazy for wanting to make something for every day! Ah well - what does he know?

What does everyone dress their boys in? I haven't made poor DS anything for our trip yet - I was thinking a couple of button-front camp-style shirts with some of his favorite characters? Boys are tough!

Cut your strips on the bias and if your machine has a cording foot, use that over the zipper foot-although a zipper foot will work fine too, but doesn't get quite as close as the cording foot.

Here are a couple pictures of my DS in his Disney gear, the shorts in the first pic have mickey heads on the sides (they were a little tight).

And a pic of my DD in one of her outfits. The shirt and skirt are from two different sellers. I bought all the Disney gear off Ebay except for the family shirts posted pages ago ;)

I think the "family pic" from that ebay search is just weird! Maybe they are hoping to get noticed??? :goodvibes jen

That is what my DS (almost 7) is asking for, but I'm afraid it's outside my skill level. I bought a pattern when Joann's had their Simplicity patterns for $1.99 a couple of weeks ago. Maybe I'll work my way up to it. We're not going till December, so I've got a bit of time!

Thought I would post this outfit as well. We had it made last April (06) This is DD in it for her second Disney trip! This is the outfit that inspired me to start making my own... I still can't believe what DH allowed me to spend on it!

As far as the eatting in an outfit goes... My DS got sick in the "Alex" shirt during lunch! I wasn't very happy about it, but what can you do. I guess that's what is good about a T-shirt! I watch my DD very close while she is eatting in hers. I bring at least one outfit to wear a day. I guess I figure if she gets messy in it I will try to get out any stains when we get home. She hasn't worn any "Disney" outfits since we have been home... I guess I figure they are just special for Disney. I will be packing them again for our Oct trip :goodvibes

all right, this might sound really dumb, but how do you make those ruffles on the end of the jeans and stuff???? i just dont have any idea how to do that!!

i'd love to make a twirl skirt, but dont think i could pull it off!! lol!!

I love these outfits! I'm getting some very cool ideas for my nephew now! Your kids are soooo adorable! Wish I could have frozen mine in time when they were younger!

I don't remember if this site had been posted before http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=76112.0

There are many tutorials for making different types of clothing. It seems to be mostly by college students, but many of the designs could be adapted for children.

Thanks for the link!!! I am going to have to spend some time looking at it!!!

This thread moves so fast!!!! I go out for a few hours and there are 5 new pages!!!

Must get to Walmart for the new mickey (or was it minnie) fabric.

I know how to do them, but I don't think I would be very good at trying to explain. I will leave that up to someone that is much better with words! I have learned a lot with this thread, and I thank everyone for sharing! :goodvibes Now if I can just pry myself from the computer to go work on something!

Thanks! I know they grow too fast, it is very important to me to make as many memories as possible. The "Alex" shirt I believe was all computerized (in the sewing machine). She does donald and minnie...
The head and gloves shirt was just an iron on and the seller put puff paint around the edge. DS wore this shirt last year, after I washed it the mickey head was peeling off, and DS had pulled of the gloves shortly after we got home. So this year I bought a bigger red shirt and replied. Worked GREAT!

The twirl skirt really is easy!!!! I followed instructions posted way back in this thread. I don't have them on this computer but can post them later if you want them. I just started sewing a month or so ago and made one. It was not difficult!

How cute! You did a great job! I love the colors and the gingham! Can't wait to see more.

As for eating in the outfits,

mickey bars are only eaten on a cruise, never in a park. I just cannot see trying to eat one when it is melting faster then anyone can eat it. When DS had just turned 3 I took a bib for the meals, but I had to be quick so in pictures it wasn't on. It was kind of a pain in the rear end. That was at Chef Mickey's and he was eating an ice cream cone.

This January when DS was 4 I had a sweatshirt so took it and put it on over and zipped up WAY to the top. We were just at Mama Melrose's so no real need to undo it for pictures. I am usually okay with normal eating in the outfits, if it is something messy, then I try to be extra careful.

I do let him run and play as he wants though, there is a picture WAY back of him sledding (sliding on his butt) down the snow hill at MGM. I was not handling that so well knowing that I had Boo and the Monsters logo on the back along with another monster, but all was fine. I didn't want to ruin his fun and figured I could always fix it if something happened to it.

Ruffles

I think I do mine different but read on a pattern years ago when putting ruffles on DS crib set to do it this way. I take the fabric and finish one long edge and both short, I make my ruffles 2x, sometimes a bit bigger then what the pant leg measures around where ruffle will be (or whatever I am ruffling). Then I sew on dental floss, with a zigzag, being careful not to catch it, pin the one end so it stays, sew, then pull. Then I sew it on upside down just above floss and zigzag, flip over and iron it down.

I hope that made sense. I have read you can just use thread and pull without the extra zigzag step, but this works for me, so why change now.
