I plan on doing a long sleeved peasant shirt (probably in a solid color), a corset and a layered tulle skirt, what do you guys think???
I love these fabric choices. Can't wait to see what you come up with!!!

Skirt for dd7 - I made a different shirt than this, I'll post pics of it later

The shirt is going to be for dd8 to wear with these capris:

LOVE the Minnie outfit...all the way down to the yellow shoes. What a doll. Your son looks great too in his pirate outfit!!!

Ok - here it is! I LOVE how this turned out! I think I may have to make one for Emma too! I wanted to make bows in matching colors - but I didn't have the right shades - so these will do for pics!

Aww she is such a cutie...I LOVE The way this turned out too. I wanna try some of those triple ruffles too!!

Lori123 - the Christmas outfit is adorable. Love the tree and holly on the jeans. Great job.

Here's my latest twirl skirt. I was very excited to find a shirt at Target that matches the pink perfectly. Got 2 of these done today. The ruffler foot and I are slowly becoming friends.

Coming out of lurk mode to post the latest sewing project. I figured after making 2 tops without any complications I'd be ready to attempt sleeves, a collar and buttons :rolleyes1 Soooo, I thought I would compensate for adding these new complications by choosing one of those Kwik Sew Learn to Sew patterns  I mean, they say they are designed for beginning sewers so it should have been easy right :thumbsup2 Well all I can say is pphhhhhtttt (that's a raspberry that is). If it wasn't for my sewing :teacher: I would have never figured it out. Am I doomed to be in sewing class forever and never be able to understand pattern instrcutions  I managed to keep my forehead away from nearby walls during moments of frustration  and convinced myself that the seam ripper is indeed my friend. I showed my family and now they each want me to make them one too :scared1: including DH and my dad! Oh boy...ok, done venting. So what do you guys think?

th_nemo.jpg

Love it! I did one similar for me years ago and still love it but it is a bit small. Hmm, maybe I should dig out our trip pics from Sept and post!

Oh, I made my cousin one too and never made a button down since with sleeves! It was more the sleeves that got me then anything else!

ok, We got a lot to share today. this is sooooo not sewing or disney related but wanted to share my girls at there first cheer competition this season!

They are just too cute!

I tried a pair online, but they didn't fit well at all. I love Simplicity 3740 & 3743. They both are the It's So Easy patterns and are only about $3 at WM

For those of you who have mentioned liking pattern 3743. I've just finished cutting out my pattern pieces for this pattern. Just looking at the pattern, I'm concerned that the pants-leg is going to be wide. Have you found that this is the case when you've made the pattern? Did you make them as cropped pants or full length pants?

Love the skirt! The sparkle layer is really ingenius!

Here is my latest. Ireland was feeling well enough to pose. I took her splint off for the pictures...:sad2: Yes I know...bad mommy...she has to wear it for 4 weeks...:sad1:
Picture730.jpg

I did the Cindy Loo Who braids on her with the wire in them to make them stand out. Now she wants to wear them to school like that...:scared1:

I missed this one a while back. LOVE it. You are so talented and creative!!!

I love pink and brown together!!!!! Nice job on the skirt and your blooming relationship with your ruffler!!

I'm so jealous of those of you that can get your serger to do a rolled hem! I'd love to do one of those skirts!!! Maybe Santa will be good to me this year!

They are a little wide, but not huge. And now that I'm looking, I have that pattern, but haven't used it. Lori has though, and I'm trying to find a pic for you, no luck so far. I've used 3740 and they are wide, but not huge. I make them as pants by adding a ruffle.

My computer kept locking up on me when I tried to post last night and today, so I lost all the multi-quotes I was going to comment on!

There were some cute things posted too! Great job everyone!

Question: has anyone made a stripwork jumper out of flannel? I am making a Christmas one for someone and she likes what I picked out except she really loves one design but it's only in flannel. I was thinking of just buying flannel pieces for the whole thing instead of having all regular cotton and one strip of flannel but was wondering if it would be too heavy and look too much like pjs? Has anyone done this? Thanks!
I think this would work fine. Just make sure it is prewashed, to avoid much shrinkage. I don't know, whenever I have flannel it shrinks terribly!

PS - PJ pants went well, im in my warm ones right now!! flannel is only 2.99 at Joann's this week!!!

I'm glad you PJ pants worked out!
I'll tell you where I was... I HIT THE JACKPOT!

I was at my local quilt shop and was getting frustrated that they had hardly ANY Disney fabric. Then I found the flat folds table     (It's at least a 4 banana). Look at what I found, all for $2.97 a yard! I'm so happy! I'm washing it up now and will be offering people choices from some of these and a few others I have for my 6x6 fabric swap groups! (THAT STILL HAVE ROOM FOR MORE!) I'll post a picture to that thread when I have everything together. I'm still waiting on a couple of fabrics I ordered online.

GREAT FINDS!!!
Well I have tried keeping up with this thread and I notice it eats up my sewing time, so now I am just going to join you all and simply post my latest sewing projects. Just so you all know, there have been amazing outfits and I feel a little silly putting my two on (which are completely cased from here). ;) But here goes....

Here is my DD2.5 in her Thanksgiving outfit...she calls it her "dobble dobble outfit". Despite this it actually does say "Gobble" on the leg. I am making matching bows after I finish some other projects.

CUTE!!!

I wanted a pair of jeans for my dd, that looked like tuxedo pants. She had black jeans and I opened the side seam all the way up to the waist and added a black velvet in the opening. I would do it in some funky color and everyone will think that you wanted them that way..You could even make it in a triangle on the bottom to give her a flare leg on the bottom...Good luck sewing...
That sounds really cute! How is Ireland feeling today?
This looks great! Nice job!

This looks FANTASTIC!!!!! I love it!

hey guys love the outfits posted today to cute i am a lil tired so i am gonna hit the hay catch up on post tomorow

I haven't been in a few days, and I am soo loving all the new outfits.

We leave for our Disneyland trip in 9 days!!! which makes me think CRAP! I need to get to sewing. I have to make DD a few outfits, and her neck travel pillow with matching planket. She picked out her fleece for that today. I also go my matching lavender fabric that matches the Princess fabric I got. Hopefully it will be enough to make top for her. I am still waiting on some fabric to ship to me. I hope it comes soon!

I want to make matching bows for the outfits, as I have the instructions to make the hair bows, I am not very grand at it. But I guess one can only try right? I have made a few bows, none that I am specially proud of. but I say they are getting better.

I found a charting program for my hidden mickey head for a hat for dd. So I need to get to my needles. As well as knitting up a shawl for dd for her dress to wear for the father daughter dance her school is doing. Its so very exciting. I really amd tempted to sneak in and take a few pictures. hehehe I was going to make her dress, but she found one that she HAD TO HAVE at Wal Mart. and for $17 it actually saved me money. Its very pretty. I guess we cant make everything for the kids...can we?? At least I still have some part of making it special for her.

Wow! Everything posted lately has been Fantastic! You all amaze me every day with your talents!

I finally got DD to want to "model" my Minnie set that I made.

HollyJollyMinnie044.jpg

HollyJollyMinnie035.jpg

I also made a matching jean and t-shirt combo to go with this, complete with "fur cuffs".
HollyJollyMinnie012.jpg

I know, the picture is "catty whompus"!
HollyJollyMinnie018.jpg

You can even put these two combos together for a different look.
HollyJollyMinnie027.jpg

Use the peasant top with the jeans, and take the belt and use it in the hair.
HollyJollyMinnie058.jpg

Yes, I am cheap, and I try to find ways to get several looks with just a few pieces! (Even if I did use white!) ;)

AWESOME fabrics!!! I love them all!! I really should check out some of our local quilt shops to see what they have!

I found a great bargain last night - minnie dot at Walmart for 50 cents a yard. They only had 7 yds left, but I bought it ALL!
