It goes without saying that this is beautiful. However, I must admit my next thought was that either you are a very brave man to use so much white in your DD's outfits or your DD is exceptionally careful. I don't even buy white tees much because they invariably end with stains. ;)
Its funny that I was thinking the same thing about Tom's dresses. He does beautiful work but all that white does scare me.

Hi Everyone,

Anyone live near Philly? I went to "fabric row" today, and I have to say I was disappointed. Like really no disney fabric - lots of furniture fabric and fancy stuff - and then the cotton stuff was like 7.99/yard. I guess I was thinking tons of cool fabric and cheap prices~~oh well,,,,did I miss anything??????

Wendy:confused3

I live in Wilmington and always wondered about Fabric Row. Not just disney, but fabrics for special outfits. Guess I've never missed anything. All we have here is a super JoAnnes that is crappy. The store is always filthy with everything laying all over the floor.

We're out by DFW Aiport in Texas, I see several people are also from around these parts....my husband is a native from Fort Worth, I'm transplanted from Michigan, over twenty years now. All the girls were born here too.

DH left for business out of town for the next 5 days, so I'm sure I'll be here often...hoping to get to know you all better!

Maggi

Hi Maggi,
Welcome! My sister is in your area-she is transplanted from Michigan as well! She is in Midlothian (she doesn't sew and refuses to go to Hobby Lobby for me :headache:)
What part of Michigan are you from?

Cindee

:welcome: Maggi I'm in DFW also. I'm guessing you're some where out near Irving or north of the airport from what you posted? My BIL use to work for Delta, so I'm familar with the area somewhat.

I'm the gal who posted about the cooties on the airplane blankets. I'm a germaphob in a way. Especially when it comes to travel & recycled airplane air etc.

I thought that was you!! I just couldn't remember for sure! I'm the same way about handrails and water fountains. My kids think I'm nuts about water fountains. But great idea for the quilt. Now they each have something to cover up on the plane with and I don't have to listen to them fight over them!!!

Yep, we live out in Southlake, about ten minutes from the airport. My uncle's wife flies for Delta, she does alot of international. Dh is traveling quite a bit now, so it's pretty handy to be so close.

I was laughing at the post you had about the fabric wholesale shops on Harry Hines....better known for the "working girls" that frequent there. I haven't been over there in years, we moved out here from Irving 12 years ago, and with all the retail that's gone up here I rarely make it past Grapevine. Although....we could use another good fabric store close by. We have a JoAnns and a Walmart, but I'd love a Hancock's closer.:)

Thanks!
Maggi

Its funny that I was thinking the same thing about Tom's dresses. He does beautiful work but all that white does scare me.

White doesn't bother me. There is always Carbona. Besides, it's usually for something special and how often do they wear them? I made the Cinderella dress and can't get Kirsta back into it because it's for DisneyWorld. Even after we come home. She could wear it to church a few times before it gets cold.

Well, all my friends and my dh laugh at me, because anytime I'm asked that question I hold up my hand, palm side in, and say, "I'm from the middle of the mitt, (while pointing) from a little town called Edmore. It had one blinking stoplight and more bars than grocery stores." But the Michiganders will know exactly what I'm talking about. Probably not where I'm talking about, but my method of describing it will be familiar!! My dad still lives there in a stone house my grandfather and his father built together, way out in the country. He loves it there, doesn't mind the snow and says he's never moving. :snooty:

I, on the other hand, detest the snow. I can handle the intense summers here, although this one was kinda wimpy compared to what's normal.

I know exactly where Midlothian is....awww, if you even need someone to go to Hobby Lobby for ya, just let me know! We have two here, the fabric selection isn't quite what it used to be, but I can always use a good excuse to go in!

Maggi

Sally - where do you shop for your fabrics? i am in Wilmington all the time cause I work at AI duPont Childrens Hosp - fabric row did have some fancy fabric, but Im not sure of the prices - I was pretty overwhelmed by the amounts of fabric there, just wasnt really what I was looking for.....but they had stores that were so stuffed, that you could hardly walk around in them without turning sideways to squeeze through the isles!!!!!

I do the mit thing too!!!! My Dad and family (well everyone except my sister and I) live in a similar 1 stop light town. I DO NOT miss snow. I like Florida sunshine :)

I think he must have a custom bib to put over each dress at dinner time lol

Morgan went to her first Ren faire today. At first she was a little unsure, but quickly got the hang of it.

Just what I was going to ask her!

When I read your first post about you being a fellow Michigander, I was going to tell you to take a picture of your hand and show us where you live! I think we all do that! Now, from where you lived, go straight down your hand, almost to the bottom, then over about half an inch towards your pinkie. There, now you are in my town!

She looks gorgeous Cindee!!! That dress is beautiful. But, I have one question for you.....

:confused3 :confused3 :confused3 WHERE IS JORD????!!!????:confused3 :confused3 :confused3

OK, I hope I can mention Costco. . . We were there today and they had some pretty cute Disney thermal long sleeve t-shirts. They had Marie, Tink, one with Mickey and Minnie, a Lady and the Tramp, Donald, and one of Mickey by himself. I think they may have also had one with Simba on it. They were the "sketchy" looking pictures. Anyhoo, the cutest part was that they had little elbow patches on the sleeves - and the shirt with just Mickey on it had little Mickey head patches! I think they were $10

BTW, Tom, that dress is absolutely GORGEOUS!

Hello All!

Wanted to share a pic of the kiddos all dressed up for Trick or Treat. Max's bear costume was from the Land's End outlet way back before he was even born ( MIL bought it) but it was def. warm and comfy! Laila got a lot of comments on her Cowgirl- and she kept tipping her hat at people!!

She actually wore a diff. Halloween outfit everyday- now to start on fall/Thanksgiving!!

Sort of OT- but has anyone had problems with the tulle from the tutus - like condensing and not being nearly as puffy? I used the tulle on a roll from Hobby Lobby and it totally deflated. Do you think ironing the strips on low and spray starching them would bring it back to life?

Cute pictures and costumes! Love it!

Finally, we are off to Epcot and Liliana is in her minnie dot outfit. We will be looking out for disneymommieof2 and her family.
Hopefully I get good pics of little in her minnie outfit.

Oh and today is our anniversary, I'm so excited, I get an Anniversary button at WDW!!!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2
:thumbsup2 How lame is that???

...t.

Not LAME! Have fun and Happy Anniversary a few days late (still catching up!)

Tom, I have to ask, are you a graphic artist or interior designer, or something similar in your day job??? Your designs are just incredible!

Susan
Hmmmm.... Nope, not a designer!

Don't you all know that princesses don't get dirty? :rotfl:

Actually, I had a whole bolt of white fabric, and I am trying to get rid of it!:goodvibes

Thanks everyone for your comments!

Here is Riley in her vampire bride costume! She watched me make it and kept saying "not too puffy, I want it to be scary" and I kept adding and adding the tule saying "it's not going to be puffy;) " So sue me. I just wanted her to be a cute scary dead vampire bride! Is that so bad of me?

I cheated on Drew. Here she is in her store bought costume!

WooHoo!!!! Halloween is officially over! I am going to start on Christmas right now!

I love looking at everyone's halloween outfits. Megan came down with pink eye. I let her go anyway but now she is stuck with me today and tomorrow so I am not getting anything done. At least she is very good about letting me give her the eye drops (so far). I am trying my hardest to stop touching my eyes, but it is so hard! I do not want to get this too.

th_100_1938.jpg

th_100_1939.jpg

My mother bought this ridiculous costume for Scrappy. Next year I will make him something myself so it will long enough! He did not care for it either, surprise!

Good luck with the pink eye thing! All I have to do is think about it and I seem to get it! My girls had it and one of them (my oldest) was awful about getting the drops in her eyes (of course, she is awful with any medicine where as my youngest loves it all!). It was like a wrestling match every time. By the end of the medicine though, she was pretty good (I guess we broke her spirit!).
Okay, here is my HSM cheerleading outfit. Donno know if you can see, but between each pleat on the white is a black painted music note. Down each sleeve of the under shirt on one side says "GO" the other says "WILDCATS". I also embelished her bag and sewed the pom poms straight to the bag so she didn't have to carry them. I also made the hair bow streamers.

Okay, I now realize as I am going through the pages trying to catch up that I'm not going to be able to comment on everyone's outfits! I love them all. I know I've skipped some as I went though but now I'm done commenting even! Well done everyone! Very cute!

I hate the fact that 20s is warm. I will stay below 0 for months at a time. We get down to -45 regularly in mid-winter, and have snow on the ground 7 months of the year! We lived in Hawaii before this so it was quite a shock. I'm ready for the beach now!!!

My little man was born on June 2nd!!! Pretty dang close in age I'd say! How funny.

Are you kidding me? You get to -45? Seriously, how do you go outside? And to top it off, you were in Hawaii before:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Somebody is seriously laughing at you I'm afraid! Talk about extremes, yikes! Is it actually safe to leave when it is that cold? I really can't imagine. I lived in Cleveland for a year and thought I was going to die from the cold, but they have nothing on you guys!

So I made my first tiered twirl skirt for my DD for Halloween. I started it a couple of weeks ago and I never really got a chance to put the ruffle on and add the elastic casing and elastic. So time flies by and I end up trying to put the finishing touches on it on "Halloween Eve". I start working on it after getting the kids in bed at 8. Start cutting my ruffle fabric and ruffling(with my ruffler foot) all is going well until I ran out of my ruffle fabric, stabbed my hand with the seam ripper and broke a needle. AGGHH I finally finish the skirt at 1:30am.

So after being up TOO late I don't hear the alarm clock going off because I am exhausted so I wake up 10 minutes before the bus comes. My DD REFUSES to have to be a "car rider"(being dropped off by your parents). So we get her dressed in her nice newly finished twirl skirt and pack her lunch and she makes the bus. Then after she gets off the bus I ask to do a quick twirl for me since I didn't get a chance to see her spin in the morning. My very accident prone 6 year old does half a spin and falls FACE FIRST into the corner of the wall!!!!! She caught her fall with her head. She has this HUGE goose egg on her eyebrow and forehead! This is 2 hours before trick or treating and she WILL be going and wearing the Tooth Fairy Dress from heck!!! I make her lay on the couch until I can get the Dr. to call me back. They give me the head injury check list and my DD iced her head for quite a while but she was able to trick or treat!

Yes my clumsy DD was the first to be injured in her twirl skirt!!!!! I know our motto is there is no such thing as too much twirl, but I think this particular skirt had TOO much twirl!!:lmao: And to top it off, I never did get a picture of her in her skirt!!!

This sounds like something my girls would do! My girls are so clumsy! I love them, but clumsy! They get it from their father who has no coordination at all, that is why they take gymnastics, I keep hoping they will develop some. My oldest is getting better but I'm afraid they are going to be so tall that they might always be a little on the clumsy side, like my DH and his sister. Oh well, can't have everything I guess!

Too tired to post much, I promise to return to my formerly chatty self ASAP..
But heres a bit of our Epcot Day

On our way

You can see her bow really well in this one (Thanks to my2angels for the minnie and halloween bows- she did an excellent job!)
But really we took this pic to show off our little pin trader- she ended up picking simba and cinderella. Gotta raise em right, ya know?

I also ran into another disboutiquer while we were at Epcot, though it wasn't disneymommieof2. I hate to admit that I didn't know her name, but I had seem the dresses her girls were wearing. That's SO COOL. I also spotted a Dis'er at the Kona Cafe at the table next to us. My family thought I was nuts. I kept looking at her and finally asked if she was a member of the disboards, she looked surprised and said "How did you know that??!!" I told her the "Passporters" and the Crocs gave her away!! How 'bout that, I spotted a Dis'er w/out a hint of lime green!!! I'm good:cool1:

I love the outfit! Very cute!

She said, " But Mommy...we were just there". LOL...It looks like Morgan had a fun time, and what a great dress! Love it!
