The thread's official, non-sewing lurker is popping in to give a BIG shout out to Steph (STEPHRES)!!

Look at the beautiful school outfit I had her make for Avery :)
She will be wearing it for her 1st ever preschool pictures in a couple of weeks! It turned out wonderful. I keep telling her to go sell some stuff you-know-where but I can't convince her. I like being a private client anyway :)

p.s I LOVE looking at everyones adorable children and cute outfits - you are all so creative. Traci, I may just have to try some sewing on the dress I won...Steph can you give me some tips on ric-rac??

Hugs ALL :goodvibes

Wow, that is some impressive hand stitching. It looks incredible. I try and avoid hand stitching at all cost, but I did have to do it on my 2 DD halloween costumes, luckily it blends in.

I think I did really great until I got to the pumpkin, circles and curves, I'm terrible at! I fabric markered the eyes and mouth. That was easy!

This is super cute. Your DD will be the best dressed at the pumpkin patch. Those dang curves get me everytime too, but the more I do them the easier they get.

UtahMama- love the Aurora dress. Just have to say WOW to the collar.

oh my I accidently clicked on "any single disney men out there" (I thought I was coming to this thread) and thought whoa I missed a lot the last few minutes!

Ok were are the prom pictures? popcorn::

Utah-LOVE the hair. I used to have some pics like that but ummmm I think they got lost :cool2:
The Sleeping beauty is adorable!
I could be REALLY rotten and post a family members first and "only" sewing attempt. But since I was the one forced to wear it I don't think I will :lmao:

I want to see some prom pictures-Ladies? Tom?

:dance3:

Here's the next pirate outfit:

I made my dd7's pirate outfit today. I made it as a skirt but I figure most likely she'll be wearing jeans under it since it will be December. While I was sewing the kids decorated themselves and the house with all the scraps of fabric. So don't mind the ankle decorations :rolleyes1

And Heather - I bought the appliqués off voldemort. I got a bunch of them and just tacking them on. It's the cheaters way for those who don't dare try to do that stuff on their own!!!!!!!!

Sorry Mama!! I think I hold the dubious honr of being the ancient of the ancient on this thread! I graduated in 1976! Shoulda been '77, but I was too smart for my britches (YES!!! I said BRITCHES!) and graduated a year before I was supposed to! Of course, I NEVER thought that when I got old, it would make me sound older then I REALLY was !! :rotfl:

Hey, y'all are still Spring Chickens with down still behind your ears compared to me a REALLY Old Bird!!! :lmao: My HS graduation year was 1969...and Yes we had a lot of rather (for lack of a better word) FUN with that...:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl: The faculty were not amused AT ALL with some of the things we came up with.... :confused3 Now, it took me until 1991 to graduate with my BA...Me and AliKat99 graduated 10 days away from each other! Nana

Okay, I cracked open a can of Coke Zero and I am about to pop in Ever After. I have a long night ahead of me. I am making a super fancy Cinderella dress tonight. So, I am off to cut fabric.

Thanks so much for all the kind NBC comments. The pink fabric is decorator fabric and it did come from JA. It is a little pricey. It is so nice you just want to pet it. I am going to take photos of DD in it tomorrow. We are trying to find out somewhere creative to do it. I was a photography student so I have shot in graveyards a time or two. Something tells me that might offend some people.:rotfl: We will keep looking.

Stephres-

Hannah asked me to paint her room pink since last November. I have a few finishing touches and then I will post the palace. Her bed has a princess canopy that she calls her castle. I think the paint is even a Disney Princess color. Hannah saw CampGriz little einstiens outfit so I am on the hook for not one but two. She wants her baby sister to match. That would be 10 appliques. Luckily, I was able to get lunch at Hollywood and Vine. I have til December thank goodness.

I am going to enter Satin h*ll. Wish me luck!!

Hey, everyone! I forgot to mention that Hancock Fabrics has all Licensed cotton prints for 40% off from the 20th (today) thru Sunday the 23rd. :dance3: Nana

Good luck!

Megan's room is blue. She has a yellow and blue comforter set on her daybed so we painted the room blue to match. DH has hated it from the start and has wanted it pink. I said let's wait and see what kind of girl she is, she might not like pink (I hated pink when I was a kid and my bedroom was awful pale pink and I despised it). Of course she is a princess-pink kind of girl. When she saw your pictures she said, I want that outfit and I want a pink room like Hannah-banana. She is such a weirdo, I don't know where she gets it from. :rolleyes1

Thanks for posting this. I was in hancocoks today and the Minnie dot fabric was $3.47/yd!! That's a good price. Of course, I have about 30 yds but I just may have to breakdown and buy another bolt.

For your viewing pleasure, a picture of our Florida family trip circa December 1983ish:

I am sure my lovely blue overall ensemble will inspire someone! Good thing Heather didn't look directly at the camera, because the glare from those ginormous glasses would have melted the camera!!!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: I'd also like to know if this is "duck-tape" camper guy!!

Will try to get some of the others up later...did a shirred top !!! My husband asked if I was trying to get a girl scout badge or something as I tried almost one of everything I have seen here !!!

Hand stitched! WOW! I like the circles & the hidden mickey!!! :rotfl2: about the girl scout badge!!!

Traci, she looks adorable!!! Great job Steph!

Hi Everyone,

Well, my friends 4 year old has just announced that she does not want to be Jasmine for Halloween...........................she wants to be Tracey Turnblad from Hairspray!!!!!

Soooo, could you all give me some ideas for a costume???? Im afraid people wont have any idea who she is if they havent seen the movie.....Im not sure how many of her peers will recognize her, not sure how many 4 year olds saw Hairspray!!!

HELP!!!!!

THanks, wendy

I was going to suggest Harper's too! I really love that for a quilt shop. I have a friend further that direction. I'll ask her if she knows of another close to where you'll be. I am more in the direction of south Overland Park. I think you said earlier in this thread (about 700 pgs. back probably) that you were familiar with that area. I hit JoAnn and Hancock around that area.

There is a Joann's at Nieman and Shawnee Msn Pkwy. A quilt shop at around 75th and Quivira called Prairie Pointe and one at around 78th and Santa Fe (between Metcalf and Antioch) called Harper's. I'm sure there are a couple of Wal-marts around there and possibly a Hobby Lobby but I'm not sure.

Thanks you two. I appreciate the info.

Does anyone here go to DL too or just DW??? Hoping to see some customs this xmas!!!

Lori

My family has passes and we go to dland. We will be there this sunday. And we will be there on christmas day. Sounds crazy but you half to do it atleast one time right?:scared1: I heard it is one of the busyiest days of the year.

Ok, here is one of my final creations before we leave. If I get the time later I may still finish off one more...but we leave very early tomorrow so it is doubtful!

This is completely copied from a post here, but I dont remember who so I can give credit to them! SORRY! The pants I did not sew, just added the ruffles, 'magic wand' and the rhinestone tiara iron on. The princesses were from some fabric I had, I cut them out and used wonder under to adhere them. No appliques for me just yet!

100_6884.jpg

100_6885.jpg

I really like tis. I added it to my ever growing pile of things to use as inspiration one day.

Here's what I did today. My DD's jumper for her very first field trip going to the pumpkin patch. I have nothing on the back...I think it needs something to just put it over the top!

That's so cute! I wish dd4 could wear something like that for her trip to the pumpkin pathc, but they have to wear their school shirts, which I understand, but still...

My 4 year old saw hairspray (and little shop of horrors too!) I would go with the sequin dress she wore... that would give her a 60's feel and it's recognizable as tracey for those who know who she is.

Look at Heather admiring you!

Look at those short-shorts!!!!!!

Look at those LEGS!!!! WOA!

That is a great picture TeresaJoyCE!!!

Is that other kid the one who grew up and took a camper-held-on-a-trailer-with-bungee-cords-and-"duck"-tape to the last family camp out by any chance?

Nah, that's just our older brother, the one we don't really talk about! That's not his style of redneck. He is a computer geek, but without the computer skills. He did use to have numchucks though. :lmao:

I thought that look Heather was giving me was awfully cute. She use to think I was very cool! :lmao:

Hey, the Joyce is after my mother. She is a twin. Barbara Joyce and Bernard Royce. :lmao:

Very pretty! Your daughter is adorable!

I wanted to share this information. I just got a email from Joann's that all red tag fabrics will be a additional 50% off from Sunday September 23rd - Saturday September 29th.

Brenda
My husband will wish you didn't post that, but I thank you!

HEY ALL!! Do you recognize me???!!!

What a goober! Just change your username already, "huh-kite". I've got news for you, you don't have "status". :rolleyes1

Aw, thanks! I'm glad someone else finds us funny. We think we're hilarious, but we tend to be the only ones laughing...:confused3

Thanks Teresa!! I will look for that "other" family photo. You look awfully cute in this one, though. Look at that waist!!

Great job!! It's very pretty! Every time I see your DD I think it's my DN, Arminda, when she was younger!

Oh, yah know, you REALLY REALLY DO NOT have to find that picture!
And, I am cracking up laughing reading your post!!! I mean, we MUST be hilarious if we BOTH think we are, right???
Ooooh, good, now that that huh-kite is gone we can gossip about her

Yeah, that huhkite, she was kind of annoying.

This literally took my breath away! You are so great at joking and poking fun, but you should really take a moment and pause, and say,:thumbsup2 "I DID this." It is wonderful!!!

Aww, that is so sweet and so true it made me all teary eyed! Maureen, you are so sweet!

!!!
I love the 3D Cinderella! That is fantastic!!! Lydia loves it too! Your daughter is awfully pretty!
Of course we don't mind! I have a scrapbook page of Jacob when he was about two with mermaid kisses on his cheek. Now he won't let a princess near him!

First of all, my senior picture is almost identical to yours! Same perm and big hair, parted down the middle. Why did we do that? My hair was a lovely shade of "brass" I would call it. It was not blonde or red but something horrifying in between. My mom wouldn't let me color it because of the perm. I'll have to dig up a picture. At least I didn't have braces, but I did have to wear a terrible contraption called a frankle all through middle school, which stunted me socially. I could hardly talk, besides looking like a freak. Good times!

Ok, now I have to remember HeatherSue and TeresaJoyCE! Can I still say HKite and TeresaJoy in my head??
Belle kissed Corey when we ate at the castle a few years ago. I have the cutest picture of it! He would probably love it if I posted that sometime!

You MUST find that senior picture!!! I am not sure where mine is right now. Heather's is on my mantle though. Hers is cuter than mine, I should post that instead!

You can call me Teresajoy, because that is what I am, Teresa joy, it's more of a description really than a name. (STOP LAUGHING HEATHER!!!!) But, unless you have the flu, I don't know if you should strain yourself with the huhkite. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Does anyone here go to DL too or just DW??? Hoping to see some customs this xmas!!!

Lori

I am a DL girl :) I have been to DW only once and want to go back but we live in Washington and DL is so much closer. We are headed there in a week and I have my customs almost done (pics to be posted soon) I made two circle "boo" skirts and I am finishing up the pirate princess skirts with the corset and shirts. I have them almost done just need to finish one corset and the bling on the shirts.

Oh and crazy me, I am teaching myself to crochet with what? A prirate hat!!!!!! I will post a pic if I can get it done on time. It actually is looking like a hat so that is a good start!

And my 5yr DD tried on the corset and skirt tonight and danced around, I love it mommy I love you - so much better than the attitude she had this afternoon :scared1:
