Ok, here is one of my final creations before we leave. If I get the time later I may still finish off one more...but we leave very early tomorrow so it is doubtful!

This is completely copied form a post here, but I dont remember who so I can give credit to them! SORRY! The pants I did not sew, just added the ruffles, 'magic wand' and the rhinestone tiara iron on. The princesses were from some fabric I had, I cut them out and used wonder under to adhere them. No appliques for me just yet!

Awwww! She looks adorable! You did a great job! I can NOT wait to go to Choo Choo Soul with you on the 29th (I think)

way to go that is way too cute..

I just want to say all of you ladies and Tom do a incredible job of sewing!!!!

Utahmama - Sleeping beauty came out great!!!

I wanted to share this information. I just got a email from Joann's that all red tag fabrics will be a additional 50% off from Sunday September 23rd - Saturday September 29th.

Hopefully, someday I will get to post a creation when my work schedule calms and I can sew.

Keep up the great work everyone!!!

Brenda

HEY ALL!! Do you recognize me???!!!

I really love this!!

I HATE my username. I really hate it!! I mean, how exactly do you pronounce hkite? It sounds like you're trying to hack up a lugey, right? I really want it to be Heathersue. But, I don't want to lose my "status" of nearly 200 posts! Is there any way to change my username? Anyone know? Please, please, help me! I don't want to be the coughing up phlegm girl anymore!

What a goober! Just change your username already, "huh-kite". I've got news for you, you don't have "status". :rolleyes1

It's SO pretty!!! It looks so much comfy-er than the scratchy store-bought Aurora costumes, too.

Y'all crack me up! The banter between you and your sister could keep me laughing forever!!!!!!!!
Aw, thanks! I'm glad someone else finds us funny. We think we're hilarious, but we tend to be the only ones laughing...:confused3

I really love that pink fabric! Did you get that at Joann?

For your viewing pleasure, a picture of our Florida family trip circa December 1983ish:

I am sure my lovely blue overall ensemble will inspire someone! Good thing Heather didn't look directly at the camera, because the glare from those ginormous glasses would have melted the camera!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Thanks Teresa!! I will look for that "other" family photo. You look awfully cute in this one, though. Look at that waist!!

Great job!! It's very pretty! Every time I see your DD I think it's my DN, Arminda, when she was younger!

I wanted to share this information. I just got a email from Joann's that all red tag fabrics will be a additional 50% off from Sunday September 23rd - Saturday September 29th.

Thank you for the heads up!!!

Ooooh, good, now that that huh-kite is gone we can gossip about her

You look great HeatherSue! 12 posts already!!!!

Find the "other" family photo!!!!!!

Check your PMs...I wont be there the 29th. There is no concert the day we originally talked about going to MGM, but we can still meet up if you want to :goodvibes

has anyone seen tulle on sale?

If you search that site for Custom Clown Tutu Costume I am thinking about casing that for the Halloween costume contest for my 3yo. I love the minnie dots.

Here's a little something I just whipped up completely stress-free. In fact, I didn't even use a pattern  One of those cinchy 1 hour jobs. No seam ripper, either.

You cant see the shoulder straps, but there's little garter-belt looking roses :cutie:

And, it is not hemmed. I can't figure out how to hem a CIRCLE! Is that what the horse-hair braid is for?

This literally took my breath away! You are so great at joking and poking fun, but you should really take a moment and pause, and say,:thumbsup2 "I DID this." It is wonderful!!!

Real quick.....I am making a shirt for the charcters to autograph. I have iron on letters, but dont have any clue what to write :confused3 It is a last trip before the new baby comes in Feb for DD and I. Any ideas?? We did a shirt last year for her first trip so I need to make this one different somehow.

Well...I am starting to organize things to start packing...we don't leave until next Saturday, but with soccer, gymnastics, dance and work (oh yeah my REAL job) I take any moment I can to get ahead...wanted to show you some stuff as it gets packed...this was my first (and so far only) attempt at an applique....each peice cut out and then HAND STITCHED down....no fancy machines here...would if I could, but my machine doesn't do that....

I think it came out pretty good anyway...the skirt was DD's idea...can you find the hidden Mickey in the circles????

Will try to get some of the others up later...did a shirred top !!! My husband asked if I was trying to get a girl scout badge or something as I tried almost one of everything I have seen here !!!

Here's what I did today. My DD's jumper for her very first field trip going to the pumpkin patch. I have nothing on the back...I think it needs something to just put it over the top!

Karriescustoms006-1.jpg

I think I did really great until I got to the pumpkin, circles and curves, I'm terrible at! I fabric markered the eyes and mouth. That was easy!

Okay, here is the latest and greatest . . .

th_SleepingBeautyFloraCustom_Dance.jpg

Great, now Megan wants me to make her that outfit and paint her room pink. Thanks a lot! Seriously, it's a cute outfit and you can see all the detail. I hope it does well. I put it on my watch list.

Thought I would pop on and post a couple more pictures of our trip - I hope you all don't mind. I am already dreading leaving on Sunday! I did get to browse all the new creations - I am still waiting to see Tweedle Dum and Dee modelled along with the famous Sleeping Beauty dress.

The Princesses kept kissing Noah during the Princess lunch - he loved the attention!
th_DSC_1072-Copy.jpg

Of course we don't mind! I have a scrapbook page of Jacob when he was about two with mermaid kisses on his cheek. Now he won't let a princess near him!

Oh ya???? Well was YOUR hair ever this cool? I am wearing an angora sweater and jogging shorts with pearls. And about a full can of Aqua Net for my Miss America hair. Look at my braces....and my youthful non-wrinkled skin!

th_Wendy1985.jpg

First of all, my senior picture is almost identical to yours! Same perm and big hair, parted down the middle. Why did we do that? My hair was a lovely shade of "brass" I would call it. It was not blonde or red but something horrifying in between. My mom wouldn't let me color it because of the perm. I'll have to dig up a picture. At least I didn't have braces, but I did have to wear a terrible contraption called a frankle all through middle school, which stunted me socially. I could hardly talk, besides looking like a freak. Good times!

Yay! I did it! Now that I finally reached 10 posts (it only took 8 months) I can post photos. As I mentioned before I have been lurking for a while and loving all of your wonderful ideas. Here are the minnie dot outfits I CASEd (what does that stand for anyway?) for my DD10 and DD2 (and Dneice not in photo).

th_DSCN2476_edited-1.jpg

So cute! I love that you did matching outfits, each age appropriate.

I also found out I'm hosting Thanksgiving so am trying to think of something to spruce up the house & basically show off my new hobby. :lmao: I was thinking tablecloth & napkins but I'm not sure.

I think that would be really cool, as well as easy. Let us know how it goes.

Here is my first attempt at sewing in 8 years (don't look too close) non-Disney though. I'm practicing re-sizing photos now.

th_DSCN2458_edited-1.jpg

That is so cute! I just want to pinch her cheeks!

th_DSC00327.jpg

I wouldn't hem it but use bias tape instead. It looks great and Nora looks just like a little princess!

Here is what I finished today.

th_nbc001.jpg

Beautiful! Can't wait to see the snow Mickey outfit.

Love her attitude pose and the outfit looks great! Have a great time!

Cute! You did a fantastic job on Cinderella! I am laughing over your DH'S comment on badges.

Ok, now I have to remember HeatherSue and TeresaJoyCE! Can I still say HKite and TeresaJoy in my head?

I am working on a tulle skirt and I have decided I hate tulle. And now that I've finished it, the tulle just lies there flat. How do I make it pouffy?

Great job! As for hemming it is tricky but the blind hem foot helps. I always just press it up and hope for the best. LOL

Utahmama-

Aurora is beautiful. I am going to be doing that same pattern. I have one more big project to finish then she next. Have you deceided when Nora is wearing what?

Here is what I finished today.

nbc001.jpg

I have to sew some ric rack onto the Mickey Winter outfit and then I start on a couple big costume projects.

THis is adorable! I need to rent that movie I haven't seen it in a long time.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: What a funny picture. You guys crack me up!

Utah Momma your picture is funny too! And I am not really sure why you were wearing an angora sweater with satin shorts? We always wore our angora sweaters with our MC Hammer pants. Or with jeans with the ankles tucked into our socks! But that was in Illinois.

I love the corduroy jumper! This turned out adorable.

Sorry Mama!! I think I hold the dubious honr of being the ancient of the ancient on this thread! I graduated in 1976! Shoulda been '77, but I was too smart for my britches (YES!!! I said BRITCHES!) and graduated a year before I was supposed to! Of course, I NEVER thought that when I got old, it would make me sound older then I REALLY was !! :rotfl:

Don't forget to look for my daughter at the airport. Her flight leaves at 7:25am on Saturday. That would be so cool if you met each other! Oh my heck! It just dawned on me that if you are on the same flight- that I could meet you as well!! My flight arrives 15 minuites before Alissa's does in Orlando and I was gonna wait at her gate for her to come off the plane! If you are on the same flight, I'll be sure to introduce myself to ya! That would be so fun!!!

I graduated in 1976 too! Our school did the big Bicentennial thing.
