Hey Karrie-

You beat me on the snow white beads! :rotfl2: At least they went to a good home! I did win the Witchy Poo Hello Kitty Beads. I am so excited because I am doing a With hot pink and black costume for my daughter. It will be a great surprise. Too bad I do not know anything about beading! Snow White is adorable. I hope you love them!

Oppps, sorry! I didn't make up my mind whether to bid or not, until there was about 30 seconds left. Then of course I had to get the apples too after winning snow white! The kitty beads were so cute too... I keep telling myself I can't have them all! I wanted the wizard of oz set too, what would I do with it? Next week, she'll have more out, keep checking. (well normally she has a new batch each week or so, but I'm sure she is getting lots of special requests now!):rotfl:

Oh, and Hobby Lobby has their stringing wire 30% off, I highly recommend Soft Flex Beading wire 26lb ($13.99). I Like medium weight, since most of my items are for my DD3. If you are just getting started, you will want some crimping tubes, crimp pliers, and I like barrel clasps.
All metal beads are 50% off, and Bead Treasures are on sale too at HL.:woohoo:

It is addicting too....

I need to change that ticker...Thanks for the good wishes but we aren't leaving until the 24th...boo hoo...:rotfl:

Wohooo So we may run into you.. We check in the 25th but are heading to Florida on the 20th.

Thanks so much!!! I love the Oz set. It was great. I bought the smocking plates for the Wizard of Oz. I am doing Gingham dresses with the inset and I thought the beads would be great too! I am such a sucker for Oz. My DD convinced me to make Dorothy dresses for her and the baby. In the store she said, Mommy- Sophee needs one too!

I just pm'd ya, about another necklace I saw.

I have a question about the ruffler foot. How do you know how much fabric to use to make the ruffle go all the way around the bottom of a dress, or pants? Do you just ruffle a bunch of fabric then when you sew it onto the dress sew the ends together?? TIA! :goodvibes jen

you need to write this down to remind her when she is 16 and pissin' you off:rolleyes1

:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I CASED her idea and ran with it. Honestly, it sounds silly but it was life changing! I am so happy with all my supplies organized. I did not even know what I had! I took leftover priority mail boxes and cut them up. I measured the baskets I wanted to use and fit them to that size. They came out about 12" x 6".... I also made trim mini bolts

Now, I get how the mini-bolts work!!! Thanks for sharing that!

Here's some pictures of a Mary Poppins set I purchased from...um...Voldemort? (is that the code?)

Yep, that's the code! And she looks so cute in that!

I used a grommet setter to add the grommets and added ribbon.

Where does one get a grommet setter? I would love one!

Sorry for posting this little girl who isn't mine, but this skirt...
Is each tier double the previous tier? For example, if the first part (waistband) is 23 finished inches, tier 2 is 46 total ungathered inches? Then tier 3 is (gulp) 92 ungathered inches. I forgot the formula. WHY IS THERE MATH INVOLVED? :cool2:
Someone pretty please give me the kindergarten version of this skirt.

Thank you and have a swell day!

That's my little girl and yes each tier is double the one above, you get an A+ in math today! :thumbsup2 I also have a formula for figuring patchwork, but not right here in front of me. I can post if if any is interested. I'm by no means, an expert, but it's worked for me.

I just pm'd ya, about another necklace I saw.

Thanks! I cannot believe it is 1:10 and I am on the DIS board! I have to get up at 4:00 to be at the train station at 5:00. DD and are off to NYC. We are going to go ribbon shopping in the garment district and I am taking her to the fabric store they go to on Project Runway. So exciting.

We are also going to the world of disney store. I was so tempted to bring her Minnie dress but I only have two hands and a small bag.:sad2: They have character meets and greets everday except WEDNESDAY! That sucks!

And here are the matching bows for the Tink outfit.

I love the little maribou festhers she put on the one set, so cute :cloud9: .
These are right up our alley. I love the maribou and they would definetly match my daughters shoe bows. Is this ummm, Voldemort??

Hey everyone... LOVE all the new things. I'm going to be brief -- I have a terrible double middle ear infection and am in quite a bit of pain. However .. I have been able to keep up with the board and I did manage to finish this outfit for DD's first day of kindergarten tomorrow.

Time for some pain medicine...
Oh Lord, you are doing better than I am. I havent been able to keep up let alone finish an outfit. I cant even imagine being able to finish something on pain medicine. It would be crooked, seam caught in the hem, picture on upside down, so this is an awesome job. :thumbsup2 I hope you;re feeling better soon.

Okay, back to cleaning. :sad1:
 Do you offer your services for rent? I could use some organization around here.

Forgive my photography skills. I totally cut out Mary on the pant legs!

I love the Mary Poppins, but I don't see it very often. This outfit is terribly cute! ;)

These were done by Castlecreations
These are mine. My pants came turned up and sewed down. I purchased the ruffle from Hobby Lobby (premade) glued it to the inside with fabric glue and added the ric rac. I did sew it down later because it was lifting. I used a grommet setter to add the grommets and added ribbon.

These are very nicely done and I love the little mickey bling on them. I like your color choices on the ribbon and trim too!

I loved your cheerleading outfit ,but for some reason this didnt quote it. :guilty: Probably something I did. That outfit is cute and looks like it will be comfortable to wear.

I'm sorry I havent been able to tell all the others about their cute outfits, I have been out for awhile and am just trying to play catch up on here. I can't wait to see more, everyone is starting to look so professional.

What I did was ruffled a scrap piece of fabric. It was 15 inches. I ended up with 4 inches of ruffle. I divided 15 by 4. So I know for every inch of ruffle I want I need 3.75 inches of fabric. My ruffles are really tight so you could get away with less fabric.

I was just thinking the same thing!!! I started a Nemo layered tulle skirt and refused to go to be until I got it finished! I'm done, but dd had the camera and now I can't find it. I will post pics tomorrow, dd2 is going to be so excited!

Have fun tomorrow Aimee!!!!!!

I do this without pain medication! I'm going to have to start putting ricrac or some kind of trim on my stuff to hide my horrible seams!

That's how I've always don't mine. I take the hip measurement plus a little & then double that for the secone row & double that for the third row. They come out nice & twirly.

What I normally do is take my daughter's waist measurement, which is 25 and double that. I make my elastic casing (where the elastic goes through) at 48 inches, then bunch up the fabric and cut my elastic at 20 inches. Before I bunch the fabric, I stitch on my top tier. This makes it so even the top tier is twirly and will move as the elastic is pulled, KWIM?

Does this mean you are about to begin your full on horizontal twirl skirt?? I can't wait! :yay: :yay: :yay:

Thank you two for confirming about doubling the next tier! I knew I had read that somewhere!

And you TJ- Yes, I yam working on the full-horizontal twirl skirt done in Halloween print. It's my practice one. I'm still doing a little zig-zag and threading a double width of thread through the whoooooooooole shebang, like a cave man, but it looks like were going to get a 10 on the Twirl Factor. Plus it's kinda cute! I also want to do one with the seam to the outside!! Those are cute!

Does anyone know of a pattern for the skirt with the diagonal seams? Or did one of you make that up?

I needed a top for the h'ween twirl skirt so I ventured into Children's Place on a shirt quest. Y'all shoudn't let me even near that place! Yes I got black footless leggings and an orange top for the h'ween skirt, BUT, they had the most adorable animal prints outfits that would be purrrrrfect for AK since we're there for 2 days. No white bike shorts though. That's what we went there for in the first place. None at Sears or Waldemort either. I'll need to check e-bay.

The CM (oops, EMPLOYEE) told me they are going to get some kickin' leggings soon. YAY! We have enough tights and leggings to outfit a small nation! I think a full dresser drawer full of em! Childrens' Place and Hanna Andersson ones are my favorite.

To whomever won the Snow white beads...in my best Napoleon Dynamite voice: "LUCKY!" I loved those! My buyer name is similar to my user name, so I'm sure y'all are going to see me bidding politely for some more cool beads to glue onto hair bows. Or make into cool necklaces for the 30 outfits being taken for 10 days...

Thanks !!! I am on a massive lets get rid of crap kick. My art room is the only really clean room right now. Over the last two days I have thrown out 20 trash bags of stuff. We had a yard sale two weeks ago and got rid of three truck loads of junk! I do not miss a thing. (Except my cell phone charger. That went to goodwill by mistake.)

We have lived in our house for five years and have had two babies. We have to much stuff and not enough space. Since we cannot change the space we are getting rid of the stuff! My DD's share a room. I cleaned a ton of junk out it today. My three year old came and said thank you over and over again. She said thank you for decorating my room. It's beautiful. Now she just needs to learn to maintain it. It is amazing how many toys kids aquire. I really do not think she is going to miss them. I have to finish their dresser and the closet next and it will be done!

Math! Just kidding! I knew math would come in handy some day!

I love tightly bunched ruffles!

wow, aimee you better get to bed girl. Have fun tomorrow! I wondered off searching Voldemort, and came back to another whole page. The night owls have come out!

That is exactly what I do. I start a project then stay up sometimes until 5:00 am until it's done. I'm worthless the next day, but hey I got it done!

I failed geometry three times in high school. Now I build 3d cardboard houses for a living. Pretty ironic! I use geometry everyday.

ETA- I had to come back to charge my ipod. Now I am really off to bed. Good Night, Sweet Dreams!

Hi to my fellow night owls! I can't stop making Disney stuff and we leave Friday morning. It might help if I finish packing! I had to share the flip flops I made DD for Calif. Grill dinner as well as my Polynesian shirt and more bows. I might need an intervention :)
