Forgive my photography skills. I totally cut out Mary on the pant legs!

Thanks Revrob!! I bought the pattern that I pictured this past weekend and I think I will try it and see how it turns out! Thanks again.

Aimee- You're the BEST!!! I'm like you- I LOVED her ideas, I just forgot to book mark the page for when I was ready to get going on the organizing!!

Now... If I may- just one more question for you- where did you get those cute pink baskets??

Why thank you! :flower3:

I bought the baskets at Home Goods. Home Goods is the home store for Marshalls and TJ Maxx. They were pretty inexpensive. I think they were around $6.

I have to say I am loving having all my sewing stuff in one place. I used all the baskets to hold art supplies that I never touched. All of that extra went into a big rubbermaid and now I have more space for things I use often. NOw that things are organizied I can see what I have and compare colors. I would buy fabric and then forget about it! Now it has a home.

It looks cute on your little one. Is Mary fabric or paint? I love the combo of gingham and polka dots!

I feel like I could shorten the bodice to more of an empire waist and then just do the skirt all kinds of different ways.

Does this pattern look similar to what you all use for those beautiful outfits?

Thanks!

I think it would work well. I would recommend cutting the first bodice long and then putting it on your DD to make sure of fit and see how much you'd want to shorten it. Then you can note the change on the pattern envelope or piece OR cut out new bodice pieces from a different paper.

Oh, that is so sweet. (Sorry, couldn't resist using that word. ;)) I think your photos are great.

My first attempts at sewing....

Sorry the pics are sooo big (this is my first attempt at posting pics also)

Wonderful skirts! Especially for a first attempt.

Does anyone else dream about sewing?

Constantly! I'm always thinking about fabric or dress construction while trying to sleep. I wish some of those ideas would stick with me when I woke up.

Here's my attempt at a HSM outfit.

Great idea! I haven't seen that fabric before.

That is a very cool set. It's nice to see different characters.

i saw someone had posted some really cute jeans awhile back and i am looking for the pic, but do not remember what page they were on...anyways it looked like the jeans were folded up to just below the knee with rick rack around them and ribbon up on top so they would look like capris...i would like to make dd a pair in her school colors for her 1st day of school on aug. 27th...can anyone give me general directions on how to make a pair?

Thanks for replying and thanks for the reminder to cut it longer and then double check. I usually do this but a reminder is always appreciated!!!

These are mine. My pants came turned up and sewed down. I purchased the ruffle from Hobby Lobby (premade) glued it to the inside with fabric glue and added the ric rac. I did sew it down later because it was lifting. I used a grommet setter to add the grommets and added ribbon.

Sorry for posting this little girl who isn't mine, but this skirt...

Is each tier double the previous tier? For example, if the first part (waistband) is 23 finished inches, tier 2 is 46 total ungathered inches? Then tier 3 is (gulp) 92 ungathered inches. I forgot the formula. WHY IS THERE MATH INVOLVED? :cool2:

Someone pretty please give me the kindergarten version of this skirt.

That's how I've always don't mine. I take the hip measurement plus a little & then double that for the secone row & double that for the third row. They come out nice & twirly.
