LOL. I do have an LSU smocked dress but it's a 2 and too big for her now. It's precious, though.

I'm surprised you're not a Georgia fan, I just assumed because of your location.

Yes, I live in Atlanta but my hubby would vomit or scream if he thought somebody thought he was a Georgia fan. We are originally from Florence, Alabama -- we have been here for 4 years now. WAR EAGLE all the way baby!! BTW, I actually see more Auburn fans here than Georgia fans.

Ok, I go into Joanns today to buy a ruffler foot. I walk to the "sewing" department and find two of them on a rack. I didn't feel comfortable just picking one, so I waited patiently for some assistance. After discussing my machine & needs with the two ladies, they tell me that I need to pay for it right there. I agreed and pulled out my 40% off coupon and they acted appalled (sp?) that I would suggest such a thing and firmly told me that they are NOT affiliated with Joanns and I can not use that coupon on their items! They said they lease that space and do not accept those coupons. So I asked if I could take the foot to the front counter (I had to ask!) and pay for it there using my coupon. Well, I thought one of them was going to faint!!!

Have I not read on here that some of you bought your ruffler foot at Joanns and used a 40% coupon? Or am I mistaken?

What if I just walk in take it off the rack and go up front with it?

okay so i have technically been sewing today !!!!
Does cutting out patterns count? i have them all ready to match to fabric and get cracking on some serious sewing this week i have my ds2 mickey romper done and DD6 pirate outfit done just a few more pirates and i am all good for a week or so till i get more inspiration from all you sew-crafty diser's :dance3: :wizard:

okay that is just weird !!!! i would have just taken it up to the front whether they wanted me too or not .. i have not gotten mine at Joanns yet because they do not have them in stock or Hancocks (it seem's the state of utah is out of them .. ) Isn't the store called Joanns fabric and more i would assume a ruffler foot for a sewing machine would be something you could use with your coupon... IMHO

I agree - totally weird. Just by the way it sounds like they acted, I would have insisted on paying for it at the front counter and getting my discount.

I agree that is odd. I'd have asked to speak with the JA store manager. I know the sewing machine departments in the Super Joanns are technically not part of the JoAnns' store but they should still honor all coupons unless it specifically excludes sewing machines and sewing machine parts. You might need to go to a store that doesn't have the larger sewing machine department. Of course they may not carry the specific one you need at the smaller locations. :(

BTW - I just checked the fine print of my current 40% off coupon. It does say sewing machines and sewing machine department merchandise is excluded. :( I think some coupons don't have that kind of exclusion, though, so check yours. I'm pretty sure I used one when I purchased mine... but I did so in the local JA which doesn't have a large sewing machine department.

There was a really cute Cinderella working dress a little while ago that sold for 29 bucks. It was for a size 7 and the lady said it couldn't be squished down to a size 4. Oh Well...I tried!

What are the key words on the Cinderella auction you are telling us about?? You can't leave us hanging like that!!!

I think this is the one: Boutique Custom Pink Disney CINDERELLA Costume

It's very cute and a GREAT price... for now. ;)

A bit more expensive ;) but still cute are the costumes the seller with this listing has: Disney ALICE IN WONDERLAND Dress/COSTUME Set CUSTOM SZ

Thanks to a wonderful fellow diser, this is the outfit DD will wear to the magic kingdom!! I just love it.

Now that is just simply adorable! Can we get a picture of it on too???

I will try to get a picture of her in it tomorrow! Nana did a great job. Less than a week from contacting her to getting the dress! Thanks again Nana!!!!

Wow so many Great outfits.

Abby Beth I love your Belle dress! I hope my Abby can sew something like that when she gets older.

LisaZoe I love your Christmas Disney outfit! Could you make an adult sweatshirt like that?

Stephres Have a good time on your trip I love the tinkerbell night gown. I went to Joann's and got that fabric and pattern. DD wants me to make her the top and pants from that pattern. I was going to make myself some pants if she didn't like the fabric. Now I wish she didn't like it I may have to get some more for me!

I love the Sock Monkey Dresses! Very cute. Happy Birthday!

I love all the Halloween Costumes. I think the lion's mane is a mop dyed brown and is beautiful! I love the Cinderella dresses!

The Jack Sparrow costume is adorable and You did a great job with the makeup! The Aurora Dress is gorgeous!

I really like the Halloween Overalls. I think the iron on's will really make them sparkle. I didn't see those at our JoAnn's I guess I will have to go back.

UtahMomma I can't wait to see the dress you make from your DH's shirt. Very good idea!

I have been spending too much time shopping. Driving here and there to Hancock Fabric, Hobby Lobby, and Joann's. I did manage to make DD a back to school dress and I am in the midst of a couple Pirate Mickey shirts for DS. But she says she can't wear the dress. I found some Yellow with White Polka Dot fabric and I am going to make my neice a cute little Minnie Outfit for her trip to DisneyLand.

Yall are too funny with all the Football talk! I can't believe how big Football is here in the South. My Dear Sister's husband still goes to his High School Games. Umm he graduated in 1990:sad2: They are also big UGA fans but neither one of them went to school there :confused3

We are on a no sports in the house phase. My DH worked for a newspaper here in Georgia. He was sports Editor. He got really sick of Football and doesn't even pay attention to the Braves anymore.

We did sign DD up for Softball though. She loves that!

I hope I haven't forgotten anyone.

Well when I put those words in (copy and paste) two outfits came up. One for a 3 piece auction, but one for one with an embroidered white petticoat with the rabbit. I am watching that one!!! (well I am watching the pink Cinderella themed one as well, but don't like that it says it has rips!)

By the way Lisa, that Cindy resell of yours...the seller edited the auction to add custom...you will probably feel better for her now!:woohoo: I still have my max amount, but am hoping to win. Her pictures aren't the greatest. Do you remember the peasant shirt to that auction?? Is it a plain cream? Thanks

Did you roll the clothes or just lay them in the bags? I was reading that rolling saves room and they come out with less wrinkles.

Thanks!

I have been gone all day. Sorry it took so long to respond.

I do not like rolling clothes. My MIL does it and her clothes are always wrinkled. Using bags was great. I posted this pics before but they might be helpful to people packing soon.

Everyone is doing sooo great! I am sewing my fingers off - I still have 4 dresses and 2 small quilts to finish as a surprise for my girls before we leave in two weeks. Good thing they're all supposed to be easy.

Here's my latest. Again, I made one for both of my girls. Because of the quality of pics I got, DD6 is modeling the front and DD4 is modeling the back. They love this dress and we had to make them take them off for supper tonight. Still, not perfection, but with these projects I really started to feel like I might actually be learning to sew!!! :cool1:

Please excuse the mirror in the one shot - I let DD4 "clean" it earlier that day!

So cute! Your DD's will be adorable wearing those. And they will be comfy and cool. Only 2 weeks to go I bet your excited.:woohoo:

Here is my Minnie skirt for MNSSHP. I look weird but, it was the best picture I could get today. :confused3
OH and I wanted to add I decided to not wear the tulle underneath. I looked like a house.
minnieskirt.jpg

I love the way that turned out! You look so cute! Sorry the tulle didn't work out. The skirt looks so cute.

(I have made a minnie dot tulle thing... and while I had lots of trouble following the pattern... i think its cute!)

Here it is:

Edit: Oh Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand... Zoe is having a minnie birthday party this year.... so I made these: Although my husband says to do away with the sparkly letters... :)

Ignore the funny shaped Mickey Head... my daughter made that one.. I'd make the others for the actual cards... (he's a little funny looking...)

Thank you Nana!!!!! :yay: :cheer2: :thumbsup2
The clippie bows are from ebay.

These are all so cute! I love all the Polka Dots.

Ladies, I am having a crisis!!!
I am working on my first applique(thanks to your inspirational photos) and my machine keeps dropping the stiches as I go around Mickey's head. Can
anyone diagnose my problem? Is the tension or something wrong? I am not a very experienced sewer and it looks great on the spots where it is actually stitching but then it will just stop stitching even though the needle is threaded, moving, etc.
TIA for any advice you can give-:goodvibes

This is the first time I've had something to contribute.:cool1:

Here is the Ariel shirt with denim shorts. I'd posted earlier asking how to create the ribbon shorts/skirt and really appreciate everyone's help. When I went to Waldemort, I found this great trim and I figured it would be easier to just sew it on. I'm pretty pleased with the result.   My daughter thinks the shirt is a little short. I'm trying to decide if I want to add another ruffle. What do you think?

A little off topic--This picture is of my first creation:) This is the outfit my DD7 wore on the first day of school. You can't see all of the bottoms, but they are pink gingham capris. I can't take much credit for the top since the shirring was already in place when I purchased the fabric at Waldemort.:wizard: To make it Disney related, if you could see the front of her bookbag and lunchbag, you would see the Disney Princesses.princess:

I still have three other outfits to finish before we leave for Disney on the 12th. So I should have more to post later.

Boy do I recognize Gymboree in there! So what do you do, fold all of the clothes super neatly, and then place them in the Ziplocs and squeeze the air out? Yours looks so nice and neat! i can also appreciate the type"A" planning of outfits and bows and shoes etc!!

What do you do with sneakers?

What do you do with big hairbows?

What size bag is it that you are using?

We stayed at POP and I was very worried. The rooms are small in the values, but really YOU ARE AT DISNEY so who cares!!

Oh that sounds like a conspiracy theory1

I am bidding on this outfit, search voldemort for
Bubblytoes Boutique Custom *Rose Princess* Applique Set

Might give you some ideas too. Just don't bid please!!!

She has a darling Christmas Mickey themed outfit listed as well...ouch!!!

After my $144 in beads! I am done on :wizard: for a while! Thanks I will check it out!

:cheer2: :cheer2: Yea....another Seminole!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: Love to see a pic of your baby set
Too cute!!!!

Im not the seminole DH is... but I will post the Gator set to show it off once it's washed one more time! :)
