Thank you Nana!!!!! :yay: :cheer2: :thumbsup2
The clippie bows are from ebay.

This is TOOOOOOO CUTE!!

Okay ladies and Gents (we have more than just Tom now so I get to say Gents :cool1: ) this is OT but along the lines of Secret Santa and postcards -

I live in Alaska, and I think I'm the only one on this thread up here. I live just 15 miles from the town of North Pole, Alaska. So if anybody wants I can send postcards to their kiddos from the north pole just let me know. I do this every Xmas for family and friends in the lower 48. All I ask is that you send a postcard to my kids in return. If anyone is interested just let me know. Also, if you want a letter sent to your kids from Santa with the North Pole postal stamp you can send me the letter, I'll repackage it and send it out. Just some ideas for you guys. :santa: :santa: :santa:

I'll also post this again closer to Xmas if I remember. Just an OT idea for you all :dance3:

This is so sweet of you. I think I'll have to take you up on the offer. We were planning at trip to WDW after Christmas & Santa was going to bring the tickets, but we moved the trip to Thanksgiving week & now Santa is sending a letter saying that because dds he's sending them for Christmas, but they need to go early so they can go with Nana (my mom - she paying - gotta love her).

BTW, if anyone in Orlando would be willing to do the same, Mickey is also sending them a letter saying Santa told him about the trip & he can't wait till they get there.

I'm glad to see some other football fans- and a U MIAMI fan :cheer2:

I went to UM, so of course I am a huge football fan. Luckily I was there during the good years and national championships.

My DH is from Arkansas- hence the screen name (they were better last year so the hogs got the nod)

And I work for the U of Maryland, so we're going to the game here on Sat. I made DD a bow with ribbon that has footballs on it and some red ribbon too. It's cute. SHe does know how to make the U symbol with her hands and how to call the hogs!!!

On a sewing note, I almost finished my nemo dress for the coral reef dinner, but realized last night I didn't have orange thread. Do you all buy lots of colors just to have, or are good at remembering to buy it when you buy the fabric?

Another question- what do you do with leftover material? SInce I don't know what I'm doing yet, I've bough way more than I need.

Happy Friday
April
I save the fabric for other projects: bodice piece for a jumper, patches for jeans, lining for other outfits, stuff like that.

I'm taking a smocking class next month and I'm so excited! For now I found a very talented lady to make the dresses for me (ready to smock) but I hope to advance to bishops by spring/summer. I am making a smocked sundress for the spring. I:[/QUOTE said:
Smocking is so much fun. Bishops are great because there's so little sewing involved after you smock. I'm great about doing the smocking, but seem to procrastinate gettng the garment put together afterwards!

GO DAWGS!!!!!!!!
Yes, we are a little football crazy here! Here are 2 pictures of my DD and DSS at Picture day when DD was 18 months old. She was terrified of dogs, but any good Georgia fan takes their child to picture day. Sorry for the awful pictures, they are from the newspapers. The big one is from the front page of the Athens paper.
Now won't that be cool when she is a student there in 12 years!
How adorable! I don't think we play y'all this year so no ugly Georgia comments from me. Alabama however...:rotfl:

We took DS to have his picture taken with a baby tiger when he was 3, I think. The baby tiger was very frisky and I have the cutest picture of the two of them just checking each other out. Neither knew what to think of the other.

Yeah, right!!:lmao:
Truth be told I bought them already. LOL. There are 2 I'm keeping my eye out for, but they don't appear on Voldemort very often.

The new pic is very cute -- I had to do a double take when I didn't see her in a smocked dress!

I bet y'all are excited since LSU won tonight, we watched it. Our game is Saturday -- WAR EAGLE!!!
LOL. I do have an LSU smocked dress but it's a 2 and too big for her now. It's precious, though.

I'm surprised you're not a Georgia fan, I just assumed because of your location.
OH boy I might start something here but, I have a link to a pattern where you can make baby shoes. They are similar to the Robeez type shoes.

Here is a flickr group with some cute finished products.

Oh, you're bad!! Thanks for the links!

We watch a ton of college football, although our school teams Univ of Tulsa and the Air Force Academy, are not strong college football teams.

But we are crazy about our KC CHIEFS (although our season hasn't started out very well.)

Now, when college basketball comes around, watch out, we become totally obsessed.

GO KU JAYHAWKS!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:
We didn't attend KU but when you live in KS you kind of get sucked into the excitement. We even have season tickets we share.

Whew, glad to get that off my chest.
I understand the excitement! We live for Saturdays between late August - Dec.

Last year's Halloween costume... He loves Jack Sparrow ha!

And here is my princess... My mom worked hard on the costumes, I really appreciate her...
Gorgeous Sleeping Beauty and a super cool Jack.

Ooh, I'm sending you a PM!!!!!

Here is my Minnie skirt for MNSSHP. I look weird but, it was the best picture I could get today. :confused3
OH and I wanted to add I decided to not wear the tulle underneath. I looked like a house.
You look great and I bet you'll get lots of compliments at WDW :goodvibes

Go Chiefs Go! I love the Chiefs! I've been trying to convince my husband that we need season tickets! I think I've got an uphill battle though, especially since we live in Texas... LOL
(I have made a minnie dot tulle thing... and while I had lots of trouble following the pattern... i think its cute!)

Here it is:

You can't tell you had trouble following the pattern. Looks great!

i thought about putting these cute iron~ons i found at joann's today on the front of both of their pants...these were only $1.00...would they look o.k. or should i leave them off...
100_1701.jpg

I like how you used the Halloween fabric-especially with the ruffles on the bottom. The pants look really cute. I'm loving the studded iron-on's you picked up at Joanne's. I may have to stop in ours and see if they have them (are Joanne's is pretty lame). Have a great time at Cedar Point! :)

Ok, please be kind. I just found this thread and wanted to post pictures of some Cinderella dresses I made for DDs:

Just beautiful! I think I made this for Savannah when she was 3yo...it was more like a professional costume than for Halloween! But she loved it, so it was worth all the look. She had the opera lenght gloves too, and boy were they hard to find in such a tiny size. I was going to skip it but she got so sad, and said "How can I be bootiful without glubs?"

Oh my gosh, my DD said the same thing about the gloves! Thankfully it was around Halloween and I found a pair after looking for a few days. They need to keep those in the party stores for our little princesses

OMG! That is so funny. My DD wants to be Cinderella for Halloween too. But she specifically said to me...MOM I HAVE to have the GLOVES!!

Where the heck did you find them?

Thanks!!

Maura

I found ours at Party City a local party streo.
Also the costume that we got her came with a black ribbon for around her neck. It was cheap and scratchy so I went and got some velvet ribbon and made a little neck peice for her. She looked so like a princess!

I forgot in this picture there are no gloves she got hot

oooh. I just saw a little Cinderelly dress on voldemort! Its the pink one Cinderella wore that the mice fixed for her (it had been her mother's special dress) along with a strand of blue beads, just like in the story! I won't bid on it because I think I can make one (if I have time) and I want someone else to have it.

WHY didn't I think of that! I love the dresses of the princesses that aren't "the Gowns" like Provincial Belle (a few pages back) and the working dress of Cinderlla and the Briar Rose dress of Aurora.

Utahmama

I just have to say that every day I go on these boards and see that gret photo of you it brings a smile to my face. Thanks

Edit: Oh Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand... Zoe is having a minnie birthday party this year.... so I made these: Although my husband says to do away with the sparkly letters... :)

Ignore the funny shaped Mickey Head... my daughter made that one.. I'd make the others for the actual cards... (he's a little funny looking...)

I love it all - I really like the names embroidered on the shirts! Very nice!

My oldest DD sat straight up when she saw your son's costume and came for a closer look. She said, "That is an AWESOME Jack Sparrow costume." And my youngest LOVES Aurora so she loved the Aurora one! Thanks for sharing!

i must be voldemort challenged..... i can't find that dress. Can you tell me how to find it. THanks!

Maura

Everyone is doing sooo great! I am sewing my fingers off - I still have 4 dresses and 2 small quilts to finish as a surprise for my girls before we leave in two weeks. Good thing they're all supposed to be easy.

Here's my latest. Again, I made one for both of my girls. Because of the quality of pics I got, DD6 is modeling the front and DD4 is modeling the back. They love this dress and we had to make them take them off for supper tonight. Still, not perfection, but with these projects I really started to feel like I might actually be learning to sew!!! :cool1:

Please excuse the mirror in the one shot - I let DD4 "clean" it earlier that day!

Can anyone tell me what they recommend for a slip or petticoat to make the princess dresses standout? I know there is one on YCMT...

Thanks in advance

And by the way WE ARE....PENN STATE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!:happytv: GO LIONS

Proud grad of Penn State Univeristy and the home of the Nittany Lions!
Happy Valley where Joe Pa lives....RRRRRRRRR

Susan

I use petticoat net. The only place I've found it, is at Waldemort. It's like craft net, but very stiff. I make a lining, and attatch it to the top so it's away from the legs. Cut it 12 wide, fold in half and gather.

There was a really cute Cinderella working dress a little while ago that sold for 29 bucks. It was for a size 7 and the lady said it couldn't be squished down to a size 4. Oh Well...I tried!

What are the key words on the Cinderella auction you are telling us about?? You can't leave us hanging like that!!!
