This is my first attempt at a more intricate applique. I think it may have been Dena that said to just be patient and take your time. That's all it really took! I encourage you all to try it if you haven't already!!

I noticed in the picture that the tiny threads on the mushrooms (that I JUST did) haven't been trimmed, yet, so disregard their "fuzziness"!

After I finish the dress (I plan to add a bow to the front and a tie in the back), I will post my princess wearing it!
I love it, great job!

Congrats and bless you! :rotfl: I envy you ladies who know you are expecting right away...always took me months before I realized! :rotfl2:

How funny! I always envied ladies who didn't know for a while. I always started vomitting about 10 minutes after conception and didn't stop for 40 weeks!

Congrats on the new baby!!!!!

Amy ~ Congratulations!!! We have 4 kids too, it is great. #4 was a surprise for us but i wouldnt change a thing. People act like we are crazy or strange for having 4 kids. They are such blessings! :flower3:

Kansas Visitor - yes I was talking about the area around Metcalf and 119th. Right now Joann's is be remodeled so the selection seems to be a little low but they should be done by October. I was at the Hancock's over July 4, I didn't notice the pirate fabric but I wasn't looking for it. They did have the minnie dot and the faces around the world and matching fabric.
If they have something you like I can try and pick it up for you. I am in South OP so it's not the distance that is the problem but the 3 kiddos I have to tow with me. My daughter just had a play date and told the other mom that I had been dragging them to fabric stores all summer. At least it is stuff for them that I am making.
I will try and post more so I can pm and post pictures.

Congrats Pixiedust in AK on the little surprise!!!

Your DD looks like an angel in her flower girl dress. What pattern did you use for the top? It's so cute!!
Hi~ The top of the flower girl dress? I bought it. If you are asking about the top of the Birthday Dress, I have yet to use a pattern, I just trace one of DD's other tops if I think I need to. :goodvibes
Happy Birthday to your DD and DS. The dress is beautiful. I love the fabrics you used.:cutie: Can't wait to see your DS's shirt. I bet it will be cute!
Thanks! I should be working on it right now! I love to do things last minute :headache:
She is sooooo sweet in her flower girl dress! Her hair is adorable. Did you end up hair spraying it?
I did, I tried a different style do the day before (DH liked the day before's better, but I liked the natural look). Sprayed it like crazy with aqua net, it still fell out. :confused3 But it stayed most of the day.
:scared1: HA HA :scared1: Look what I just added to my siggy. Whoops here come number 4 :rotfl2: :rotfl2: I'm a little scared but happy :dance3:
Congrats!!:cheer2: I am trying to figure out if we want another. Two right now seem to be so trying at times:scared:

Thanks ladies. Pretty much everybody we've told so far has been pretty much thinking we're crazy. Oh well. The bad part is that my dh is scheduled to go to Iraq next spring. SO he should be here for the birth but will probably leave when the baby is 1-2 months old and not come back for 15 months. That will be hard. But I think we'll be okay. Crazy but okay :rotfl:

I just received the newest flyer from Joann's. Simplicity patterns will be $1.99July 22 -28, McCall's will be $1.99 Aug 9-11 and Vogue's will be $3.99 for the same dates.

If you are going to be in OP you can hit the JoAnn and then the Hobby Lobby across the street and the Wal-mart right across from the Hobby Lobby and then go up Metcalf a little to the Hancock! I am going to Hancock today (hopefully) I will see what they have and let you know in the morning. I will be back to "town" Tuesday, so if there is anything you are interested in I can pick it up for you. I live in the middle of nowhere in KS too! Sounds like I'm a little closer to the action than you are though!

Is this south or north of the interstate on Metcalf? I know of the Walmart that is south of the interstate on the east side of the road, is this the area you are taking about?

I called one of the Hancock stores in Nebraska and the clerk said they would ship the material if I paid by credit card but she didn't have either the pirate or the tropical tink in stock. Actually she didn't act like she knew what I was talking about and I guess I couldn't describe it well enough over the phone!

So if you could let me know if you can find any of this fabric I can call them. It would help if you do find any of it to tell me what it's called specifically.

THANKS SO MUCH!!! :)

I forgot to say anything about the past 30 pages or so. This is such a great thread! The shoes that have been posted are soo cute, the nemo and "friends around the world", pirate, and the Minnie.
I just had to say the Ariel face is amazing! Great work!! I am so going to try a face now! I have been to scared.
I love the pillow cases awhile back! I would love to get some of the pooh circle fabric!
I really like the pillow case autograph idea!
I know I am missing so many of you and I am sorry, I love looking at everyones creations! GREAT WORK! :goodvibes jen

Ugh...sickness is how I found out with the first baby...for all of my third month, so I understand. Baby #2 I didn't realize until I was well into my 5th month. That's what happens when your cycle is so wonky though!

Kansas Visitor-
The area on Metcalf is south of 435. The Joann's is at about 115th on the east side, the Wal-mart is just South of this and the Hobby Lobby is on the west side of Metcalf at 119th. The Hancock's is North of 435 at 95th and Metcalf at the NE corner. Hope this helps.

Good to know!! I was there today and Butterick patterns were $1.99. Not sure for how long. I'm going back tonight WITHOUT the kiddos!! :cool1:

I posted last night about the smiles around the world fabric. How about the small minnie dot as a coordinating fabric?

Here's the fabric again as a reminder.

I bought a jean capri set that used this fabric, and I'm going to make a twirl/babydoll top to go with it. The jeans have the red dot and the yellow dot ribbon on them so I thought I'd try to use a fabric to match that. I'll post a pic. of the outfit to see what everone thinks!!

Mini dots would be good, but do you see that stripe in the hat of the mexican boy?? Could you find a fabric like that one as a co-ordinating one? How about the cute little flower lei in the Hawaiian girls hair? I'll bet you could find a fabric like that as well!!

CONGRATS!!!! I always wanted four, but Dh only wanted two. I slid #3 past him when he wasn't looking. :rotfl2:

Hehe, I'll keep that in mind. I'm longing for a 3rd. DH said he was getting a "V" for his 40th birthday (which was last month, btw :rolleyes1 )

Ok here's the outfit.
