I have seen the Pirate fabric at Hancock fabrics here in town. If you need it and can't find it all from the same person then let me know.

Now for the gal that has the cool fabrics :) The hello kitty one looks interesting, I have a fan here. Will you PM me the specifics, cost and how much you have?

Thanks!

OK! I am back on page 403.... But I thought I would post then try to catch up. Here is the picture of DD the day of the Wedding.
aaPicture301.jpg

And here is my latest creation. The kids are having a double birthday party on Sunday. This is DD's dress. I am going to work on a shirt for DS tonight :goodvibes

Does anyone know where these fabrics can be found besides Ebay? Has anyone seen any of these fabrics in stores near them? I found the Pirate fabric online for like $8.50 per yard. I was hoping to find it for less than that.

THANKS!!!

The blue & green Mickey Camo was at Hancocks & they did have it online. They had this purple fairy/Tink at our Joanns but I haven't been there in about 2 weeks. I can check when I go back. I made my DD17 a top out of the floral/orange Tink today. I'll have to pay her to let me take a picture but I'll get it on here one way or another.

LIL Ragamuffins- Thanks for shopping for us all today and even offering to go back. I love that tea cup flannel but haven't mastered jamas yet. If you happen to go back I'm in on the pirate map print. LMK. I need to make DS1 & DS2 some Capt Jack piratety gear! I just realized those autograph books were yours. OMG! You must have the patience of a saint! I love them.

We live in the midde of nowhere and the nearest Hancock Fabrics is Omaha, NE or Kansas City, MO both which are about 3 hours from me.
:sad2:

There is a Hobby Lobby approx an hour from me that does have this purple princess toille

that I thought someone on here was looking for earlier. I'd be happy to pick some up the next time I'm there if someone needs it.

THANKS!!!

I have some of the second fabric. How much do you need?

I've been away from the disboards for so long since our trip that I forgot to post pictures!! It was a trip to remember for sure....Mya was SUPER sick for all but the last day with a terrible stomach bug. Luckily she didn't throw up on any of her outfits, lol. But, she didn't have any fun and we had 2 more outfits that she didn't wear since she had to skip some of the park time. I made the best way over the top snow white skirt and she didn't even wear it once

I'm so sorry she was sick. That's no fun anytime, but so unfair on vacation.

She looks adorable in her outfits, though.

I'd love to see pics of the Snow White skirt.

I just ordered the Smiles around the World fabric to make a babydoll/twirl top. (like karrierock's friends around... outfit)

facestwo.jpg

I'm thinking a white with yellow dot fabric for the bodice & ruffle. I'm not 100% there yet. Any other suggestions for a cooridnating fabric?

Oh, no you don't! If your's turns out cuter than mine, then I'll have to make yours too. :lmao: I already have that fabric and was going to use it before I saw Dena's. I'll have to buy another day's ticket, just so DD can wear both small world outfits to Epcot!:rotfl2:

Really I can't wait to see it! I was thinking about using the faces in blocks for a shirt for me. I agree with using red. I saw red in most of the faces.

The tinkerbell dress is mine and I bought the fabric at Joannes a while ago.

Well, it is 1:45 and I have not finished any of my real work but . . .

I did finish my DD Tinker Bell dress. She picked out all the fabric and I think it turned out pretty cute. This is the first Disney dress I have made and the third dress I have ever made.

I used McCalls 5088 and improvised.

This is the fabric she picked out.

Here is the halter. I am not super happy with it.

tinkerbelltwirldress001.jpg

Here is the first trim. I put green sequence on top the pom pom trim.

tinkerbelltwirldress005.jpg

Here is the back of the dress. I ended up taking out three solid inches of elastic. My DD is too skinny.

tinkerbelltwirldress010.jpg

Here is the front and the back. I cannot wait to have her try it in the morning. I think she will be thrilled!

WOW! I am busy for a couple of days and you guys take off!!! Nice work everyone! ( I will be MIA for a couple more.. DH and I are headed to Ottawa Canada to celebrate our 10th anniversary) I can't wait to see what youhave done when I get back!:goodvibes

disney07092.jpg

Poor baby! I'm so sorry she was sick at Disney. That happened to us once (DS got strep throat) and it was horrible. The minnie dress is the cutest thing ever! I would also love to see the Snow White outfit.

Okay, I went back to buy ALL of the Chip & Dale fabric. Just FYI 1EVILQUEEN was the first one to contact me about the fabric and she wanted as much as she could get. I'm keeping a bit for me, and there's a small bit to divide among the rest of the requests I got. I'll try to figure out the order the requests came in and see what I can do to make it as fair as possible.

Okay, now for the other fabric I found, I noticed a few other RARE Disney and other character prints and I wanted to share in case somebody else HAS to have something. My pictures aren't the best, but they get the idea across. These were all also in the clearance/imported fabric section at 1.99/yard. Don't let the price fool you--these are all really darling, top-quality fabrics:

Lastly, my most favorite one of all. I didn't buy it tonight, but I put the entire lot of it on hold to purchase tomorrow. I wanted to get your opinion first if you think others might be interested in this print and if it could possibly sell well maybe on a certain auction site. There was about 40 yards at $1.99/ea. I know that's DIRT cheap for suprisingly TOP quality flannel fabric, but I can't afford to buy it all outright if I couldn't resell it (hopefully for a small profit--DH is already working a 2nd job as it is). But isn't this fabric PERFECT for custom pajamas?! It's a very nice weight flannel for Fall/Winter PJs--not too heavy not too light! I want to make some pjs for my whole family!! How on earth did I miss this one yesterday?! For scale, the teacups are about the size of an average lime or lemon
100_3363.jpg

Wow, I would buy some of that. The teacups are both kids' favorite ride! Are you going to list it on Ebay?

Wow, it came out beautifully! You are really fast! I hope you post a picture with her in it: I bet you have a hard time getting her out of it once she gets it on!

This is beautiful! I like the striped trim at the bootom-I think that really makes the whole dress come together! Awesome work! :thumbsup2

Like everyone has already said, this is a hard thread to take a break from...so much to read to catch up! I have four sewing projects all in progress (I swear I have ADD of some sort). As I finish them, I will try and post them up.

Anyhoo, here is a shirt I made for my teen DD. Not really a sewing project, but clothes nonetheless. I will be making one like it for myself (although probably a different pirate fabric for the lettering just to have some variation).

Pirate01.jpg

I put black rhinestuds around all the letters. My DD is going through this phase of REALLY liking black (plus the crystal clear ones looked terrible with the black). So she has bling and sparkle, but she is still cool. :rotfl:

I have 2-3 uncut yards of the second fabric also and would be willing to send it to you. I don;t think I have a need for it after planning out all my kids outfits.

Wow! Some awesome outfits lately! I left on page 400 so I have some catching up to do. I finished some outfits for my DDs. These are for CRT.

Skirt and shirt for DD9 (She posed without any instruction from me.)

T-shirt dress for DD6--more ruffly than the skirt

buffy- please tell me how you did the tshirt dress! i LOVE it! my first attempt at one was horrible-not sure why. anyway, id love to know how you did it- type slow, i am a newbie!:rotfl:

ladyrob- destiny's ariel outfit is awesome! i keep watching ebay to see if youve made a career change and officially opened the "knock off" boutique!:rotfl2: great job!

and to everyone else (kiddos are now awake, so my time is running out!) the outfits and bows and shoes are AMAZING! i really enjoy the snow white (love the vintage sheets - i used to have them) creations cause shes my fave princess!

keep the outfits coming!

Anyway, I was wondering where the black with pink polka dot fabric came from. I searched my JoAnn's and couldn't find it. I was going to check Wal Mart next. If anyone knows, please let me know.

The other thing I can't find are the directions for the layered skirt. I thought there was one specifically for tulle in the bookmarks, but I can't find it. I found a pattern (McCall's 5090) but I was looking for the directions on the internet before I invested in the pattern. I have a pattern for a tiered skirt, but this one has the tulle as the middle layer so it is more like the one I mentioned.

All this is important because my son wants me to make him something! He found the ugliest, scariest skull fabric and wants me to make shorts for Disney. I am so excited to do something for him, but this fabric is way creepy! Anyway, I thought I would make his sister a matching skirt if I can find the fabric and directions. Thanks for your help!

The fabric you mention is at Wal-Mart, or at least that's where I found mine. I know we discussed the tulle twirl skirt here on the boards after LadyRob did hers, so there may be instructions for it actually posted on the thread in a post, but not necessarily bookmarked. Quickly though, you need 3 layers (top layer, tulle, and then the under layer. They are all sewn together and then attached to a yoke that is made of the same fabric as the top layer because it shows. Your waistband is just a simply casing made by turning down the yoke 1.5 inches or so. Hope this helps a little.

I'm glad your son is getting involved and such. Sorry he picked out suck creepy fabric. Would you really want to put your dd in it though if it is so scary?

Good luck.

You all are so creative. DW likes to make outfits for DD to wear, and I have showed her some of the outfits that you all have made. She is inspired to make a coulple of new outfits for our trip this year!

Here are a few photos of last year at Disney:

100_0612.jpg

:welcome: Your dd is a doll, and your wife is to for making all those wonderful outfits. I think they are all so cute. She did a great job. We really liked the pirate one in our house. So, will we get to *meet* your DW? Tell her to come sit a spell or maybe you don't want her spending all that money on fabric and then spending hours upon hours at the fabric store. :lmao:

I've had several requests from people here to see examples of the custom autograph albums I've made for my kids and customers.

The autograph books are amazing. Great work!!! I bet you do get a lot of attention with them.

Hi Melissa,

I think having Ariel continue around to the back is a great idea! DS had the cutest outfit when he was little that had a tiger that continued around and I've been planning a similar custom outfit for DD (our favorite football team's mascot is a tiger).
I'll post some pics:
Front:

:cheer2: GEAUX Tigers!!!!:cheer2:

I did 2 things - 1 as you asked and the other with pattern stripes and collar.

shirtrequest.jpg

Thanks for doing this. You know, I thought it needed more of the FAtW fabric, but now I don't know. I do like that the collar has more, but you have to make the collar with a seem in the back in order to turn the fabric around so all the kiddos would be right side up. Otherwise they'd be upside down on one side.

Anyway, thanks again.

I love the birthday dress. It has a very high twirl factor, and she's adorable in it. Nice job.

Okay, you guys are scary. Bringing out the lurkers in all of us. I too, am officially become obsessed with this thread.
100_3523.jpg

:welcome: But you can't say you weren't warned!! :rotfl: I would say that you can sew very well. I think you did a wonderful job, and she looks very happy with it as well. Nice job. So, are there some matching capris or anything in that outfit's future. Nothing too young, of course. Sorry. I'm just looking for ideas for my girls. They aren't as old as your dd, but don't like all the ruffles and frills. Oh well.....

My DD and I started a project today. We are making hair bows. She is helping me with all the design choices and I am doing the technical stuff. All the money she earns will be going into her savings account.
bows024.jpg

Good luck to ya'll on your new venture. I like the bows, but really love the autograph bag. Even with 2 girls, I've never gotten into the bows since I knew they wouldn't keep them in their hair. They are pretty though.

I've been away from the disboards for so long since our trip that I forgot to post pictures!! It was a trip to remember for sure....Mya was SUPER sick for all but the last day with a terrible stomach bug. Luckily she didn't throw up on any of her outfits, lol.

Poor thing. She looks great though. Everyone does. I guess you'll just have to plan another trip there pronto, so she can see how much fun it really can be.

Okay, now for the other fabric I found, I noticed a few other RARE Disney and other character prints and I wanted to share in case somebody else HAS to have something.

Thanks for doing this. I've already PMed you, but I do like all the fabrics -- especially the teacups fabric. We just can't do flannel here. Bummer.

As of last week, our Joann's had these. I'm going to try to get back there today. They have either Simplicity or Butterick patterns for $1.99 this weekend. I forget which one though. I'll be happy to look for you. Just let me know.

I think it is great, and are those sprinkles that I see in that solid pink fabric? Very cute. I can't wait to see it on.

Since we've been talking about linings and such and these fabrics can get expensive, I often use a solid color cotton as lining. That way I don't need as much of the more expensive fabric. Of course, now, that means more of the nice fabric for appliques and such. Just something I thought I'd pass along.

Anyhoo, here is a shirt I made for my teen DD. Not really a sewing project, but clothes nonetheless. I will be making one like it for myself (although probably a different pirate fabric for the lettering just to have some variation).

Pirate01.jpg

Very nice. How long did it take to add the bling though? How!! I love it though. I really makes the tee.

I'm so excited and envious of all the outfits ya'll have made. I haven't done anything in many days. I have just been really trying to spend some time with my girls and we're trying to go through the house and get rid of old toys and clothes and stuff before school starts.

I was also wondering if it is possible to add a place where everyone can put their ebay ID. Isn't that allowed on the DIS? Maybe on the first post or in Theresa's bookmarks. No auctions, of course. Just a list of who's who.

Have a great day everyone.

Kansas Visitor - I saw the red with black mickey head fabric (or something extremely similar) at the Hobby Lobby in Overland Park,KS. Since you are in KS if you decide to take a fabric shopping trip there is a area in OP where you can hit Hobby Lobby, Joann's, Wal-Mart in about 1 sq mile and then Hancock's is only a couple miles North. If the first Wal-Mart doesn't have what you want 2 more are within a couple of miles. Oh the joy of suburbia. If you need further info let me know.

It took me about a half hour to add all the rhinestuds. I've had a lot of practice though. When I first started doing the gems on stuff it would have taken me a good hour or two to do that many!

I do know that if you want to list your own Ebay ID in your signature you are allowed to. Maybe that would be easier for those who may want to share. ;)

Anyway, thanks again.

The patterns I used for both of DS's shirts have 2 pieces to the collar pattern, so it's pretty easy to deal with. I did that for the second Mickey shirt I made for DS. (remember the widest part of the pattern piece is the bottom edge of the collar when folded over so that needs to go toward the bottom of the design when you're cutting)

If you want the fold (that's actually part of the shirt, not the collar) to have the patterned fabric on it (like the sample I made) you'd have to make the shirt facing out of that fabric too instead of the solid fabric.

Here's some close ups of the collar - (ignore the wrinkles - I threw it in the laundry and just yanked it out to take the pics for this post.)

DSCN0418.jpg

DSCN0419.jpg

If you don't press the collar down like I did, you won't see the facing of the shirt -- Like this one - and she went a step farther and did the yoke in a contrasting fabric too... (very cute!!)
(grabbed these images from the DisBotique - sorry I don't remember who made them - I'm horrible with names!)

This is my first attempt at a more intricate applique. I think it may have been Dena that said to just be patient and take your time. That's all it really took! I encourage you all to try it if you haven't already!!

I noticed in the picture that the tiny threads on the mushrooms (that I JUST did) haven't been trimmed, yet, so disregard their "fuzziness"!

CluPAlice.jpg

ClupTeaPot.jpg

After I finish the dress (I plan to add a bow to the front and a tie in the back), I will post my princess wearing it!
