wonder why you have to cut it before. I cut the aproxomite length and then gather it with my gathering/ruffling foot then pin inside and sew the layers together.
why before? hmmm

It's because I kind of make up the skirt as I went and didn't really follow the "correct" instructions. I kept making the skirt shorter, and the tulle then had to be made shorter....
Trust me, your method is correct, it's me that was doing this *** backwards

WOW!!!! TOO CUTE!!!! This is the fabric I was talking about earlier. Do you all think it'll be ok for Christmas? Maybe as a twirl skirt or one of the "dress" things over jeans? Speaking of jeans...love these...might have to make me a pair to match DD's outfit! ;) Or is that too "young" for a Mom? :rotfl:

Look what you all have done to me! I think I can actually sew, my home ec. teacher would have been so proud!! My project of the day is a hidden mickey Twirly skirt. I'm jumpin the gun here a bit, DD just can't seem to get the twirl down. Worked with her for half an hour, trying to get her to twirl the skirt, no luck. She just hops all around:yay: Oh, well we have 70 days for her to get down pat!;)

That is REALLY cute!

I haven't yet because I've only had boys in the past. We brought our dd home in November. She has worn customs around town and always been a hit.

We'll be there in September, the 11-16!

We will be at the Poly from the 8th to the 18th of September, so maybe we will run into you! :goodvibes

I hope to see you there! We will be on the lookout for a little boy in really cute clothes!

I loved the story about Minnie mouse! I was wondering if these outfits received alot of attention. I know that when my girls wore their dresses on the plane, they did, and I could have kicked myself for not having made them more outfits. They even requested them this time. I think they enjoyed the attention they received. Hopefully we'll see you at the poly!

You'll be there right after us.:sad1: I would have loved to see your outfits! I'm glad to have feedback on how the custom outfits worked out in the park for you. This is encouraging for all the effort alot of us are putting into this.

You know of course, if we were paying ourselves by the hour to make these outfits, we would have to charge ourselves way too much. :rotfl:

I can't wait to see all of you going in Sept. I'll be on the lookout for you!

 Tink is going to sew! I love it! PM me your email address and I'll see if I can get you started.

:lmao: Tink is running out of money to buy off Ebay!

I have a perfectly good sewing maching sitting on a high shelf in my closet and it did make a quilt top once. I guess I'm not a total idiot. I *should* at least try once. Then I can tell dh, "Honey, I can't do it so I must buy these expensive items off Ebay or I'll get kicked off the custom thread and our little girl will be shamelessly underdressed on vacation.":rotfl:

I'll PM you.

My kids are small yet, but I can imagin DD won't be growing out of dressing up for Disney any time in the future! I like the attention more than DD, she can be kinda shy, she does get alot of comments and attention when she is wearing her Disney outfits. We have had characters come over from the parade to say hi even.

Someone was looking for blue princess toile, so the family could all match, I think....

It's funny, I see a trend emerging with my girls, they get to a point where they say they are too old to do something, and then as they get older, they want to do it again. This ranges from clothing to kid movies. So, it has gone from "Mom, I don't want to wear that" to "Mom, can you make me, or buy me, this outfit." :scared1: Talk about shock on my part. My oldest wanted me to design her an outfit and she's even going to let me put a bow in her hair. It will be on a headband, but still, a bow in her hair! :woohoo:

I love the ploy here! Your set either way. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

ok here is a picture of the skirt with the black shirt! Now the bottome length is not hemmed it needs to go up an inch so don't be alarmed! Oh and her smile is crooked, but wanted to show the outfit on! do you think this is tooo hot for july? the pink and black tulle look cute. the dark pink shirt made the skirt look more red

I don't know about it being to hot but I love the look of the black tank!

I know it isn't clothes, but I'm so excited. A while back, someone sent me a template for an autograph album. It has over 100 characters and today I finally got it cut and bound with the coil binding. Office Max did it for 5 dollars.

WoW! That is very impressive! Did they print it for the $5, or was it the cutting and binding that cost that? I love it!

Hi,
This isn't Disney related, but I was inspired by this thread. It is my first attempt at an applique. I ended up having to hand-sew all the edges. I accidentally bought upholstery thread. Do not attempt to do a satin stitch with heavy thread. My machine ate the material and ground to a stop. Took me thirty minutes with a seam ripper and a pair of tweezers to clean it out.

My DS loves Caillou, but I haven't been able to find any merchandise in this area. I figured his big, round head was a simple place to start.

ok I quickly appliqued the front of this skirt. I think I am going to add ribbons to the bottom of the skirt. what do you all think!
Thanks for the awesome idea!!!

This is my first attempt at my version of the tulle twirl skirt - don't even ask me how I did it, I still don't know

I figure, for the one day they will be wearing them in the park, it's good enough!!!

Lydia had on a little jean skirt yesterday, and all I could think while she was wearing was, hmm, that needs a Mickey head or something... This skirt looks adorable!

I love the skirt! Me being a scrapbooker and having a closet full of ribbons, I would love to see ribbons on it! I liked the comment earlier, that fabric could be an outfit for arrival day at the POP. Hmmm...must go buy that fabric.......
