Love the ribbon necklaces!

Do you find the edges of the bottle caps to be sharp? I was wondering if you put some foam on the back or anything else?

Okay and I thought Disney boutique customs could be big $$$$. Check out the final bid on that beautiful Navy pettiskirt boutique custom. I know it was talked about on here a week or so ago......All I can say is wow and I hope whatever little girl that was bought for wears the daylight out of it.

Got another one done! Still learning to appliqué. Here's a little princess set for my dd. It's a little big on her, but I think by December, it will look better. Plus, she'll wear a t-shirt under the top, probably. I did "princess" down one leg, then on the other leg, I did a symbol for each princess - apple for Snow White, shoe for Cinderella, book for Belle, and a wand for Sleeping Beauty (from the fairies, actually - I had to stretch on that one, LOL - couldn't think of anything besides the spindle.)

Do you think it looks weird with the apple, etc in those colors - I felt like I had to stick with the pink, yellow, blue to go with the fabric in the top rather than the traditional red for the apple.
What do you all think?

:scared1: Yikes!!! I mean it is beautiful but $660. That's more than my mortgage.

I think it is beautiful! Learning to applique? Looks professional to me. I like the colors to match, so yes, I think the pink apple looks fine! I just made a balloon out of flower fabric to make it match what I was doing.

What did you use for the letters? I cannot find any cute letter templates that I like anymore and these look cute for a first name!

I can't believe it went for that much. If I could figure out how to make a pettiskirt...I would be on my way.
I'm going to recreate :rolleyes1 it for my DD for our next cruise. I have the DCL Jacket that I can use, and I ordered the white pettiskirt this week..:rotfl:
I just need some Navy ribbons and I'll be all set.
Can you imagine the staff's face, when they see that I've defaced the DCL uniform...:rotfl:

Ok Ladies -

I am on the hunt for another pattern. I have seen a lot of 'fancy' boutique dresses on ebay that I just love, and would like to find the pattern everyone uses. I 'think' it is a Daisy Kingdom pattern that is no longer in production, and was hoping to find it too on ebay, if I can just find the pattern number.

I don't want to get into any trouble posting pictures that are not mine (:) ) but if you search Autumn Harvest Border Dress and Autumn Harvest Toile Dress the two patterns I am looking for will come up in an ebay store. Anyone have any ideas on the pattern??

(Check out her other dresses... she has some great character themed dresses!)

Tammy

All of these new outfits look great!!!

Any more tips on applique ---- especially around curves and corners???? I have been practicing with a stabilizer and it's not very pretty yet??? TIA!!

You did an excellent job on this! I saw this fabric at walmart and had no idea what to do with it. I think the apple is perfect as is. Your appliques look great. I may have to copy. :rolleyes1 What picture did you use for the slipper? That one would be perfect for my Cindy outfit.

One more question, did you open the outside of the jeans or the inside?

I just find a font I like in Word, make it to the size I want, print it out, then I trace it out onto the fusible stuff.

I found the slipper by just doing a google image search for "cinderella slipper"

Thanks guys for the compliments! You made my day! :flower3:

OK, I am probably about 60 pages behind right now and no time to catch up, but here are my thoughts from the posts I have been able to read:

Amy, thanks for the compliments on my DD! I do hand cut and place each part of every applique I make. I do not have an embroidery machine, and have no desire to have one...I like the appliqued look better than the embroidered look. Everything I applique is done by hand, with a satin stitch on my machine. It took a while to be able to figure out how to get the stitching perfect, all I can say is lots of practice! Faces are a lot harder than anything else, the tiny parts do not always stay where you put them, then you have to go back and fill in the details...obviously straight lines will give less of a challenge!

Dena

Thank you for explaining that, Dena. I have to say, I have done very basic applique and felt like I might have been missing the trick! I will continue to practice and stay patient!

If you don't mind me asking where did you order the pettiskirt from. I found one I'm particularly fond of but I'm not ready to commit to the $80 YET! After all My daughter is only 3 mos. old ;) The other site I found is slightly less but I really like the 1st one.

My poor DH he really wanted a daughter. I guess it's one of those be careful what you wish for scenarios. I'm so glad he doesn't look at receipts:rolleyes1
He already thinks the boys have too many clothes. Poor guy has no idea.

I can't wait to see what your DCL outfit will look like.

Are there any Australian Dis'ers out there? I thought I have seen a few :) I am desperately searching for Wiggles fabric. We are going to see the Wiggles live in August. Since finding this board I am addicted to customs, so little Katie must have the perfect custom for the show. I have looked everywhere online and at every fabric store close to me. I was wondering if someone from Australia (or anyone more search savvy than me) could point me in the right direction online of overseas fabric stores. I found some one EBay, but they are all 100% polyester or just fat quarters and I need a few yards of material. Thanks in advance. I really appreciate the help. I know Katie will also :)

I'm interested in a pettiskirt also. Will someone point me in the right direction? Any websites with great prices? Thanks!

If you search petticoat, instead of pettiskirt, you will find the prices are cheaper and alot of them, are exactly the same.
I also have the name of a wholesaler, who I've been in contact with, but I can't give out my source yet...I'm seriously thinking of just selling pettiskirt outfits. I love them!!

Well ladies, this is my newest outfit. I'm not happy with it at all. I'm not sure why. I don't like the pink edge on the blue part of the skirt. The underskirt, is made of a lightweight gauze, that's off white. The ribbon around the neck is just temporary. The real tie isn't made yet, and I don't know why but I just don't like it... :confused3
Oh well...better luck next time... My dd will wear it for MGM, or I might just ditch it and try again... I hate to waste the fabric though.,...

It is just HIDEOUS! So, I graciously volunteer to take them off your hands!

Seriously, I REALLY like it! I think it's gorgeous!

Oh yes, it's just awful! You better send it on over to me so I can dispose of it for you! ;) :lmao:

I think it's adorable and so does my daughter! We love all things Ariel!!

We are WAY too much alike Heather! I swear, I didn't read your post before I posted!

I just think this is a gorgeous outfit!!! I love the pink accent along the bottom.

I think they look awesome!!! I'm so envious of you appliquers - is that a word? LOL Anyway, I'm going to attempt it one of these days!! I really want to applique a slipper on dds Cinderella overalls that I'm planning, but I'm super scared!!! It's a good thing I have until December to get things right!
