I am crunching numbers and if he works the overtime I think he is going to we could feasibly buy flat out for our November vacation. I just need to work him before that. :rotfl:

Go to the Disneyworld website and order the free DVC DVD. I did three times before we bought. ;)

Actually earlier I went to the DVC website and ordered one, and I ordered a trip planning one too.

I have never watched the WDW part of the planning DVD.:scared1:

I started a planning notebook already. I figure I better take notes because I have ever done this before.

I swear I posted this morning about 4 am during another bout with insomnia. I must have posted it somewhere random. :lmao:

Oh that is so beautiful. If the idea of that ride didn't scare me so much I would go on it just for that view.

AS my children are experincing their 2 nd sugar drop of the day (damn candy) I thought I'd do some current research on the TiW card. I order for us to buy the TiW card for $75, one of the adults would have to be an Annual Pass holder.

Although we are planning to get 8 days Hoppers, we are planning to also hit a water park one. With the APs we save like $4 per water park ticket.

Bare with me as I try to make this reader friendly. :flower3:

4 adult 8 day park hoppers= $1224
5 adult 8 day park hoppers= $1530

1 AP with DVC discount= $399
1 PAP with DVC discount= $504

The TiW card= $75 regardless of which AP we get.

The cost diff, including the TiW card between 5 PH and 4 PH with an AP= $168

The cost diff, including the TiW card between 5 PH and 4 PH with a PAP= $273

With the PAP, I'd get into the water park for free so there's another -$40 making the diff= $223. DH would also get freee access to one of the golf courses for free too. I think he plans on golfing twice. I don't know what it costs to golf but I'll guess at $50 a round? So that knocks another $100 off making the PAP a better deal and that's not to mention any merchandise discounts which we'll surely spend $100 on each child (3) which adds up to another $60 in savings by having the PAP vs the AP. :woohoo: So now, the diff is only $63 total before we've done any dining. In order to break even, we'd need to enjoy about $311 in food and drinks at participating TiW restaurants (listed below) over the course of 12 days.

The PAP with TiW card seems to be the best deal. :woohoo: I blue bolded the places we'd like to dine as of now:

I am back (well at least for as long as my laptop works), I am going back to catch up now.

A stop in Miami sounds great!
I have TiW and LOVE it. It works so much better for us than the DDP.
Have you considered getting APs for everyone? Maybe plan another WDW trip within the year.:rolleyes1

We are considering visiting DLR either in February or April 2012. What resort do you recommend? I'm leaning toward the Disneyland Hotel. Which resort has the larger rooms?

I love that ride.

I really want to stay at the Beach Club. I may be renting points and going this Oct. I really want to go and Jon has been saying the past few days he wants to go back and of course Lexi is trying to talk Jon into moving to WDW. She really does it is so funny to listen to her.

:goodvibes Good to see you here.

That's about the only reason I go on it. I hate to go backwards. :scared1:

I would love to but it's not in the budget as it stands right now. Of course we could always upgrade while we are there if it seems like a possibility. As of now, I'm saving for Chloe's bat mitzvah next May and thenthis trip to WDW.

Why not rent at the GCV? They are the biggest. The standard rooms at the GCH are the smallest though. Here's the deal, and I say this without any hotel room snbbiness, but it was very hard to stay at the Paradise Pier after staying at the GCV. I haven't stayed at the DLH for years and heard they did some refurbing. It's a great hotel but remember they are standard rooms too. How many are going?

If it's during F&W this year, it might be hard to get into unless someone's renting an exisiting reservation. The BCV looks beautiful and if SAB is as cool as it looks, then go for it! :yay:

Sorry if we go this year again it will be at Pop again. I want to rent at BCV for next year. I should have worded it better. ;)

Now I am concerned as to whether we will be able to get points and use them in 2012 because it will be during the last of F&W if it falls the same dates.

I LOVE TIW :lovestruc- it offers so much flexibility, discounts on wine/cocktails/beer/etc...it's a really, really wonderful card to have!! :thumbsup2

I'm kinda walking Michele through the process, feel free to tag along. :goodvibes

You'll find points for sure. The BCV are super popular during F&W so if you're intent on staying there you may have to find a BCV owner to take advantage of the 11 month booking otherwise you can rent from anyone.

:thumbsup2 It will be perfect for us too! We love our drinks and good food. I can't wait. I couldn't believe the math was so overwhelming in favor of the TiW card. :woohoo: The restaurant options are great too. Looks like all of the watering holes are on it too.

Actually BCV isn't real high on my list, so I feel pretty safe.

Yes, you could upgrade at WDW. ;)

I'm considered GCV. There are 3 adults and 2 kids going. The space would be VERY nice. The only reason DLH is in the running is the recent refurb. The rooms and beautiful. I'm going to look into renting points for GCV. I am saving my points for our summer BLT stays. Is it possible to book GCV with cash through Disney? I never see it as an option when I price vacations.

How are crowds during Easter week at DLR? I'm considering a spring break surprise trip for my nephews.

I stayed in one of the newly refurbished rooms at the DLH and it was beautiful. The headboard lights up and plays music for a little while. I think the new rooms are beautiful if not a bit dark.

Spring Break actually runs about 6 weeks now so unsure really.

As far as cash, there aren't many DVC units so not sure if that's an option. We had no issue getting it at 7 mos out over Father's Day weekend so I'd give it a shot at 7 am on the day the 7 mos hit. pixiedust:

I'd get a one bedroom though. With 3 adults you may want more than one room at any of the hotels which just increases the price. :guilty:

Post some room pics for Jennifer here please. :flower3:
